Orpheus Hotel in Athens

Me and my friends booked a room for 3 at this hotel. When we arrived they told to us to go in another one, Lido hotel, under the same company without explainetion. The neighborhood was probably the worst place in Athens: broken streets and buildings and people on the side of the road eating pills.

I'll try to describe as fairly as possible.

Hotel staff are friendly. Street is absolutely disgusting. Feels dangerous but most of the druggies outside are too busy in their own world. General location is really great for exploring central Athens. Really close to Omonia Metro station (super dodgy area still, watch your belongings). Really close to the Airport bus stop. 30min walk or so from Acropolis.

As others mentioned, toilet has no door. Not a huge issue but worth mentioning. Also, it is rare to have a quiet night. It's not super noisy, however people are screaming etc at random parts of the night.

Elevator is janky, but works. Room is relatively clean.

All in all, it was a great price and amazing for exploring Athens, but I will never be back aslong as I can help it. Staff were helpful, but it was just too much for me.

Worst hotel I‘ve ever been!!! Dirty room. The bed was covered with a plastic. No hot water in the shower. The „showerhead“ where comes the water out, was not really working. The door of the hotelroom has a window and in the night the light on the floor shines in the room. We booked 2 nights and after the first night in the cold room with a thin sheets and a not working AC (and the cold shower) we leaved. Drugpeoples around the hotel.
So think two times about to sleep there.

The location is a drug addicts spot the exact street in particular is dangerous and full of shady characters. Walking out there I felt I could get stabbed any moment so please take my comment seriously YOU DO NOT WALK OUT THERE AT NIGHT.
In terms if the hotel: the towels in our room had blood stains on them mixed with black stains and when we asked for replacements they new towels came with blood stains too. Overal a terrible experience pls stay away !
