Hotel Ionion in Piraeus

Honestly was scared for my life here.

I stayed here for 1 night to have a place before our cruise that left the next day. When we got there the female who checked us in was very kind and warming with her greeting. Unfortunately the stay only got worse from that moment on. Not only did our entire room and bathroom smell like an ash tray, the air conditioning unit did not work at all. Also we were woken up at around 3 in the morning to the male who was working the overnight shift talking, laughing, and yelling at what seemed to be the top of his lungs to his friends for about 45 minutes straight. Could not sleep through that noise, plus the added heat in the room due to no air conditioning working, and the smell of week old ash tray filling the room. At one point we even contemplated just going straight to the dock and just sleeping in the transfer area. This was by the far the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had and will never recommend anyone to stay here again.

Avoid this hole! Used straws under the bed, and plenty of dust! We found coakroaches in the bath, the madrasses had plenty off stains and were the most uncomfortable. To be honest i was afraid of this, but it was only for one nighte, fortunatly, before moving on. PLEASE AVOID THIS! Only pluss is airconditioning.

I had a 12-hour Gap from my flight till the boat left and needed a place to freshen up and rest. One of the restaurant waiters recommended this hotel and to my surprise it was an hourly stopover for people that aren't tourists but are serviced by the locals! We found someone trying to crawl in the window that didn't close and our luggage had been gone through as well. I would steer clear of those types of places in the future! Next time I’ll definitely stay in Athens until it’s time to catch the boat!
