Where to stay in Piraeus

We booked this hotel as a package, a cheap one, for a quick last minute getaway. As you can see in the pictures the bathroom was ridden with drain flies and mould in the grout. We discussed changing rooms but for the little time we were in the room we did not deem it worth it, however these things did not go unnoticed. The room itself is ok, slightly outdated. Although we stayed there only one night, the choice of that specific hotel proved to be a pleasant surprise. The room, although without a remarkable view, was relatively spacious. The bathroom was quite good, clean, and provided everything needed for hassle-free and enjoyable use (three types of shampoo for hair and body, lotion, bathroom slippers, clean and relatively new towels, cotton swabs, etc...

Theoxenia Palace Piraeus is a great choice for a successful city trip. The location is very convenient, close to everything you might need. We booked this hotel because we had a boat to Santorini the next morning. The hotel looks nice from the outside, but the furnishings are average. Is it a traditional five-star hotel? It's about a ten-minute drive from E7.

Nice stay for the second time. Great location, nice staff and the parking is a big plus. The hotel is clean and the rooms large. It could do with a few cosmetic improvements and refurbishment but the ratio quality/price is one of the best. The breakfast is ok, not the main asset but the staff really kind.

We arrived late at night and in the room were snacks and small bottle of wine which was a perfect way to end the evening after a long flight! It reminded me of a Motel 6. It was a bed and a bathroom with a broken chair at the desk. You cannot take a shower without getting the whole bathroom wet and the toilet is up against the side wall.

We got to the hotel early and the front desk accommodated my husband and I by allowing us to check in early so we can rest. The hotel is near the cruise terminals which was also convenient. Overall, we had a great stay before our cruise.

Pros: clean. Bed comfortable. Good lighting and outlets in the room. Cons: No shampoo or Conditioner. 1 bathtowel for 2 persons? 1 Welcome bottle of water in the fridge.

Good location but it a bit old. But reasonable price, and dinner is good though.

According to ******* booking, I thought the breakfast is free but we have to pay $8 Euro per person.

Although a simple room, it was clean and well maintained. Very helpful and friendly staff. We ate in the hotel both dinner and breakfast. Good food, great value and very hospitable service. Breakfast wasn’t included in our stay, but was well with it. It is an excellent location for cruisers as it is within a simple walk to the port.

Good place to stay pré-cruise and even post-cruise. Located a 15 minute walk from the Diminko Theater Metro station (Line 3 direct from airport - 9€) and 15 minute walk to the port of Piraeus. It’s basic, but clean and pleasant staff. I would recommend it!

Very nice. Arrived following cruise at 10am (check in wasn’t until 2/3pm) and they had our room ready and waiting. They were kind, provided water bottle and taxi for airport following morning.

Staying here is inexpensive and on the coast. We started in a large three bedroom with no view which was more expensive than the ocean view. We changed to the ocean view that was wonderful. Unfortunately the beds are not that comfortable but tolerable.

For 50 euros a night with a view of the sea, it was definitely worth it, but I wouldn’t pay more. The interior is very old, and the sink in the bathroom was hanging as if it was going to fall at any moment. One good point is that the check out is at 12 that was very convenient.

There for 1 night to catch the next ferry. Very close to the port. Reception was extremely helpful with guidance on how to reach the port and where our ferry would be.

The room was ok, clean and comfortable

 I chose this hotel because it said it had Wi-Fi, but I couldn't use it at all. In the end, I had to go to a high-priced restaurant where there was Wi-Fi, which made for an inconvenient stay. It's close to the port.

This was a very basic hotel that needs renovation. The staff was not very helpful but rather impolite. It was OK for one night but I won't return. I do not recoment this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of much better hotels in the area with the same price.

This quaint appearing hotel is a hidden gem! The short cobblestone walk from the bus stop was a surprise but we made it. The staff were very welcoming and informative. They directed us to a lovely restaurant in walking distance. The food was fabulous. In fact we ate there twice! We forgot our conversion plugs and the happily provided us with two during our stay! The hotel is not far from the port - 15 minutes walk-but you still need a taxi to get to the major passenger cruise line (like Holland America, etc) as the port is huge. Rooms are very clean, and it is in a quiet area. Metro is close by - maybe 7 min walk. The best thing about the hotel is front desk staff of the hotel. They are extremely helpful in everything - like how to buy bus tickets in Athens...

This hotel stands out for several reasons: it is clean, organized, friendly, and serviceable. Additionally, it is centrally located in the city of Piraeus. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the room comes equipped with a coffee maker and a mini fridge, making for a very pleasant stay.

Our stay was not the most pleasant, at night we realized that the room had bedbugs, the next day we reported it and they changed our room, in the new room the air conditioning did not work and it was an oven, and we are not talking about the type of establishment downstairs with the speakers all night in the middle of the street, the noise is horrendous, if we add the bedbugs and the air conditioning...

This hotel is a disaster. Booked a quadruple room and given a twin without double bed. Non apologetic. Noisy as hell - there was a hard rock festival outside the hotel from 11pm until 9 am. Didn’t sleep. Please, if you respect yourself, don’t book this hotel.

Stayed for one night to catch morning ferry to Naxos. Good hotel for the price. Bar right beside hotel was noicy all night with very loud music ( seems to be on every Friday and Saturday night) but 4th floor was ok.

Very near the center of Piraeus and its port. Knowledgeable and efficient staff, clean and more than adequately equipped room, big balcony with chairs and table, free parking, easy to find. At both sides of the double bed there are electricity outlets, a big wardrobe, a small refrigerator and good internet. The small size of the shower is not a problem, but it does not have glass doors, only a curtain

It's very close to the port, making it a convenient place to stay if you're taking a ferry. There are also large supermarkets nearby, making shopping convenient. This is an older hotel, but the amenities are still there and the cleanliness is acceptable; however, there's no kettle. The room isn't too small, but the shower is quite small. For a one-night stay, it's a good value for money.

We stayed just one night in this hotel in order to take a ferry early in the morning. Our stay was very good, the room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Greeted by a very friendly receptionist Emily. The building is modern and well maintained, and everything in the room worked. The breakfast was plentiful. Right by Piraeus metro station is exit and the port so ideally located for a morning ferry.

Perfect location if you need to take an early ferry. The staff is friendly and helpful as well that allowed us to use the microwave from the restaurant to heat up our own meal.

I was there for one night to catch and early ferry. It got the job done and the guys working the front desk were nice.

Apparently we didn’t have the breakfast included in our stay. The cost was $15 euros each for breakfast if we paid at the hotel. We opted to go across the street to a nice bakery and have a coffee and fresh baked good for around $4-5 euros each. We no big breakfast people fit was good for us.

This hotel was lovely with a nice view of the harbour & upwards to the Acropolis, however the road noise at night is quite loud & continues into the early morning. The staff was friendly & very accomodating. The rooftop terrace was lovely & the food was very good.

Conveniently located near the cruise port, the stay was comfortable and the on property restaurant offered a good variety of appetizing meals.

Arrived in the early hours by bus from the airport, stops like 5 min walk from hotel and the reception is amazing, the rooms are absolutely great for what they charge. Only little point, would be great to have a shower cabin or at least a curtain.

The location is very convenient and overall the room was clean however there was an overwhelming and unpleasant smell of cigarettes in the room which made the stay unbearable. We checked out earlier due to this and had a very poor night sleep.

friendly staff decent location in eastern piraeus cool looking rooms that look like the advertised rooms with what feels like soundproof walls only major downside was the wifi, they have 8 different connections that keep swapping between each other and disconnecting overall. when i could finally get connected most social media apps would not work at all.

The room was adequate but small and the bathroom was uncomfortably small. The toilet space and shower were a very tight fit. The balcony was massive. The bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok, warm and cold food although great bread selection. Staff were pleasant.

Very convenient hotel in a great location right next to the piraeus port. Great for an overnight stay to take the ferry in the morning. The front desk is open at all hours which is very helpful for late flights or early ferries.

Lovely, modernized hotel in heart of Pirareus. Very clean and nice rooms. Our balcony was huge- big enough for multiple chairs, two loungers, and tables. The free breakfast was delicious and quite ample- eggs, sausages, pastries, etc. Far better than the common Continental breakfast. Perfect for the ferries at Piraeus. Very well priced. Rooms are clean and decent shower. Compact rooms, but given that most will just be using it as a base for one night, it's all you need. Breakfast buffet for €11 on 7th floor is good value with decent coffee. Lifts are a bit tight, but they work.

Not a super nice place not an awful place,rooms were pretty nice, bathrooms are quite nice, good place to stay for a night as a jumping off point for the island ferries,not a place to stay if you're visiting to be sight seeing Athens. Don't expect everywhere you go to be a nice clean area around there,like any big city its old tight,urban,diverse,congested & busy so yes it will not be super clean sometimes...

Stayed here during spring break and overall had a pleasant experience. The rooms are small but nicely maintained, clean, and comfortable for a short stay. One drawback is the elevator - it’s very narrow and can barely fit four people, which can be inconvenient during busy times. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. They always greet us with a smile and help us open the elevator door. The balcony is spacious and close to the pier, just a three-minute walk away.

After a neighboring hotel condition problem, Glaros Hotel welcomed us warmly. That was exactly what we needed. We also needed to be near the port for an easier trip to the cruise ship. We could walk or take a taxi. The room was clean and safe. We were happy there.

It was fine, perfect for a one-night stay before the cruise. They also have check-in until 6:00 a.m., which was perfect for us because our flight was at night and we arrived quite late.

Me and my friend were there for night there. We felt like home from the first moment. Reception staff was amazing. I loved that we got some candies as a welcome in the room. Was great value, the beds were amazing. And we even got slippers(a nice touch even I did not used them), I have been in 3* hotels and never been offered slippers. I recommend it!

I recently stayed at ideal hotel and had an amazing experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive to every detail.

Clean room, which was a relief after the hotel a couple blocks away we had initially booked and decided to leave after checking the mattresses. The hotel staff at Ideal let us look around the room before checking in so we could be sure we were comfortable. We checked the mattress and it was pristine! Close to the pier...the facilities are not very complete. It can barely stay for one night. It should be a relatively cost-effective hotel by the pier. The service attitude of the hotel staff is very good.

Very nice hotel for the price! Location is convenient although it’s close to the ferry port, not the cruise Port！ that’s my mistake for not looking closely enough! Luggage storage is just a room and I felt okay storing it but I’m not sure everyone would!

Place is very spacious and clean. Pool is very well maintained. View is amazing. Plenty of shade to have breakfast outside. Parking is tight and the side road to reach the property is narrow and steep at times.

Easy walking distance of the port, metro and shops. I have stayed here a few times before taking the ferry or after coming off the ferry. Comfortable bed, efficient fridge and quiet night. Reasonable price. Would be even better with a kettle. No reason not to book again next year.

This hotel is great if you’re going on the ferry to other islands of Greece. Walking distance to Piraeus port. If you’re not going on the ferry, this hotel is right at the end of Athens metro lines, so I took the metro from airport from end to end. The lobby looks very sad, however I need to assure you that the room is modern and newly renovated. Very tiny and bare but I think it’s fine. Staff is helpful...
