Good hotel but double check for school groups. The hotel and most of the staff were friendly and spoke English. Although very close to all the interest points, the hotel is placed in a quiet part of the town so you can have a good rest while you're there. The beach in front of it is rocky, but you can find sandy ones in 10 min walking. Rooms are confy and clean, the staff is very nice and welcoming and the food is tasty and varied ( we only had breakfast there)

I only have the best to say about this cosy and hospitable hotel. I booked a single room with a double bed, for a two day business trip. The room had everything I needed. Room service and all other hotel services were excellent. Staff behaviour exemplary. I felt that the whole experience was value for money.

Very well appointed rooms with all 5 star amenities. Very good breakfast and great dinner place with outstanding food and personalised service. Pools and beach are also great. Service lacks in these areas as the waiters are not proactively around guests but rather the opposite. Kids club was also great and our son loved the attention given by the attendant there. 5 -star hotel but with maximum 3-star services and facilities. You pay ultra all inclusive but the food ends in an hour. you have to ask for plates, forks, napkins. the snacks are the same sandwiches every day and maybe some fruit. The hotel is super clean and staff is very frendly and it's really ok for families with children. But, this is not 5* hotel, not even 4*... Food is really bad, drinks as well. My kids eated only pasta for 10 days. We had ultra all inclusive deal and still were very limited with choices. The hotel beach should be also much much bettet in my opinion.

When I asked about parking For parking the staff directed me to a local car park but whilst walking back I saw that the hotel had its own dedicated parking spots with a free space on the side street beside the hotel… which was a bit confusing. We stayed two nights at Metropolitan Hotel (August 21–22) and had a great experience. The reception staff (especially the man at the front desk) was very kind and helpful. The hotel is pet-friendly, and parking with a fee is available about 100m away—safe and convenient. Breakfast had plenty of good options. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

It's bit old, worn and priced accordingly. If you just need a place to sleep and use WIFI, it's fine for that. Not to be confused with the much more modern and upscale Met Hotel a few kilometers away

We had a nice renovated room, not overlooking the street. The location is great. near the metro station, but also it is walking distance to all of Thessaloniki sites. In the room there is a small fridge, and a small balcony. It was clean. The breakfast was good, and I like that they do their best to prevent food waist.

You can walk everywhere … breakfast … no - they have a Nescafé auto machine for coffee no way Jose. Walk 20 feet out to the right get a real coffee and spinach pie. We stayed for one night, we chose a junior suite that was spacious and with a view of the city. As the hotel is in the city we did not have noise. We enjoyed our breakfast as there was a buffet and a la carte menu of eggs & pancakes.

Fantastic Property From the moment I checked in and throughout my stay, I received excellent service from every member of the staff. I hardly recommend the Excelsior, not only because of the great service, but because of its central location as well. It is close to everything, within walkable distance to all major destinations in Thessaloniki.
