Vardis Olive Garden in Georgioupolis

Lovely quiet hotel with great mountain views!
The town/shops are a 20+ min walk away, the hotel is on an unlit and is quite dark if walking back at night.
Beach is about 30 min walk away, cheap sunbeds and food places nearby.

The hotel food is not the best. Breakfast is just okay, lunch/snack menu is limited. And they will get it wrong if you try to make changes. Didn't even bother trying dinner.

Drinks are expensive but then it is a walk go get to any bars / cafes, so you pay extra for convenience.

Staff are all lovely and helpful.

Overall, a nice little hotel. Would be a great base if you plan to hire a car. Walkers beware! I didn't hire a car but I enjoy walking so it wasn't too bad.

Very beautiful hotel inside the olive garden. You can take a breathe from the big cities and enjoy village vibe. Rooms are clean and food in the restaurant is tasty. You can also try local spirits in the bar. Great base for traveling to Rethimno, Chania or Heraklion. If you are not afraid of 2 hours driving also Elafonisi Beach or Agios Nicolaos on the other side. At October you can find local farmers collecting olives from the trees around the hotel. Poli kala ❤️

The location isn't bad. Initially, we had to wait a while for our reservation, but in the end, everything was sorted out. TV with smart function but it doesn't work, Netflix is ​​out, German TV channels (most guest being German and they were treated better). The hotel pool is clean (sunbeds a bit dirty). The entire facility appears clean and relatively well-maintained.

Do not be put off by the low star rating at this hotel! The hotel is perfect if you're looking for a good value, quiet, comfortable and clean base to stay, which is exactly what we wanted and what we got. Even at the height of summer, you did not need to get up early to get a place by the pool, nor struggle to get a parking space (which we have found at other hotels). The hotel is clean throughout, in the most beautiful setting, and not too far from shops and tavernas (a 15 to 20 minute walk to the larger supermarket was fine for us). We were given a welcome drink on arrival and 2 small bottles of olive oil when checking out, which we found a lovely touch. The staff were friendly, welcomimg and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed every fourth day (my only observation is the towels could be a little softer but it was okay for us in all). The food was traditional, often with meat and fish options, salad, vegetables etc, and was fresh and delicious! Freshly cooked food was provided whenever things ran low, and desert (though limited) was always great. Breakfast was great too, plentiful and a little different every day. There aren't as many food options at the hotel as others we have stayed at, but we stuck to the buffet (we were half board) and did not try the à la carte menu that came at extra cost, so there is that option if needed. The grounds were well maintained and easy to get around. The air conditioning does come at extra cost (€7 per room per night) unless you book direct with the hotel (we learned after) and is capped at 23 degrees at its lowest, but this was again fine for us. There was also a fridge in each room which was handy and plenty of space to put your clothes and belongings away. A safe was provided at extra cost too. Don't forget the local tax also which is payable on check out which was €2 per room, per night. Overall, very worth the money paid and we would stay again. Thank you Vardis Olive Garden!

Vardis Olive Garden is a true hidden gem in the Chania and Rathymno area! The staff was very friendly throughout our stay and welcoming from the beginning of our time at Bardis Olive Garden. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. The balcony view in our room was the olive trees, a peaceful calming scenery.

We loved the view of the mountain and clear pool in the main area of the hotel.  Breakfast had a great variety of Greek and Cretan dishes, and the dinner buffet was a perfect way to enjoy the sunset and stars in the evening. We extremely enjoyed our time at Vardis Olive Garden!

Incredible home away from home for myself and my partner. Staff was absolutely amazing and so kind. Food was delicious and there were other walkable dining options in a nearby town. Quiet and nestled among the mountains and olive groves but also very close to the beach and Lake Kourna. What a beautiful gem of a place!!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel not far from Georgiopoulos with our 2 boys, and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us and our kids feel truly welcome. The team, from the reception to the housekeeping and the cooks, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, making our stay smooth and enjoyable.

The hotel itself was spotless, with every area very well maintained. The pool area was fantastic, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine, with a convenient bar nearby where you could order refreshing drinks and snacks throughout the day. The food was also a highlight—every meal was delicious, with a great variety and quality.

Overall, this hotel offers an amazing experience and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for a place with top-notch service, cleanliness, and excellent amenities, I highly recommend staying here.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean and very large. The pool was large, clean and uncrowded with plenty of sun loungers. The views are wonderful and although I rarely book hotels slightly inland, I highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was varied and of high quality- differing slightly each morning. I will return hopefully soon but I have so much more of Greece to see.

Such a lovely holiday. The staff were absolutely amazing and welcomed me and my family so very well, we had the best time and loved our time by the pool. Everything was clean and well thought out. This is an amazing hotel resort which is very unique on an olive farm. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable!! Overall all the facilities from the lobby, breakfast area, bar, seating and the pool was very clean and great! I loved how peaceful the resort was and the very friendly staff here to make your experience better. Thank you for the great holiday!!
