Vardis Olive Garden in Georgioupolis

Do not be put off by the low star rating at this hotel! The hotel is perfect if you're looking for a good value, quiet, comfortable and clean base to stay, which is exactly what we wanted and what we got. Even at the height of summer, you did not need to get up early to get a place by the pool, nor struggle to get a parking space (which we have found at other hotels). The hotel is clean throughout, in the most beautiful setting, and not too far from shops and tavernas (a 15 to 20 minute walk to the larger supermarket was fine for us). We were given a welcome drink on arrival and 2 small bottles of olive oil when checking out, which we found a lovely touch. The staff were friendly, welcomimg and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed every fourth day (my only observation is the towels could be a little softer but it was okay for us in all). The food was traditional, often with meat and fish options, salad, vegetables etc, and was fresh and delicious! Freshly cooked food was provided whenever things ran low, and desert (though limited) was always great. Breakfast was great too, plentiful and a little different every day. There aren't as many food options at the hotel as others we have stayed at, but we stuck to the buffet (we were half board) and did not try the à la carte menu that came at extra cost, so there is that option if needed. The grounds were well maintained and easy to get around. The air conditioning does come at extra cost (€7 per room per night) unless you book direct with the hotel (we learned after) and is capped at 23 degrees at its lowest, but this was again fine for us. There was also a fridge in each room which was handy and plenty of space to put your clothes and belongings away. A safe was provided at extra cost too. Don't forget the local tax also which is payable on check out which was €2 per room, per night. Overall, very worth the money paid and we would stay again. Thank you Vardis Olive Garden!

Incredible home away from home for myself and my partner. Staff was absolutely amazing and so kind. Food was delicious and there were other walkable dining options in a nearby town. Quiet and nestled among the mountains and olive groves but also very close to the beach and Lake Kourna. What a beautiful gem of a place!!

Everything about this hotel is amazing. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean and very large. The pool was large, clean and uncrowded with plenty of sun loungers. The views are wonderful and although I rarely book hotels slightly inland, I highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was varied and of high quality- differing slightly each morning. I will return hopefully soon but I have so much more of Greece to see.

Such a lovely holiday. The staff were absolutely amazing and welcomed me and my family so very well, we had the best time and loved our time by the pool. Everything was clean and well thought out. This is an amazing hotel resort which is very unique on an olive farm. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable!! Overall all the facilities from the lobby, breakfast area, bar, seating and the pool was very clean and great! I loved how peaceful the resort was and the very friendly staff here to make your experience better. Thank you for the great holiday!!

Magnificent establishment, very well maintained, in an olive grove, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Beautiful swimming pool, excellent breakfast. All the staff are very friendly and above all very professional, a big thank you to them. We've been coming back for several years, and it's not going to stop anytime soon. This beautiful retreat set in a gorgeous olive grove was a perfect relaxing holiday for our family. All the staff at this family run hotel were very friendly and welcoming. It was a 15 min walk to the beach and a short drive to Lake Kournas, which is a must see, while the impressive White Mountains tower in the background. We all really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend a visit.

Very quiet and clean hotel. The employees are all equally nice and professional. Delicious cuisine with fresh products. The room is spacious, neatly cleaned and equipped with a kitchenette with refrigerator. Renting a car is useful because the hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the beach.

We (my 10 year old daughter and I) stayed at this fabulous hotel 11 days. (july 18-28).Upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink, which we chose to have at the tables by the pool. Our room was on the top floor, overlooking the pool, we had a nice balcony. I asked for 2 single beds (for my daughter and I), but the staff upgraded our one-room studio (which we booked) to a 2 room apartement for free, which was a very pleasant surprise at our arrival. The rooms are well-equipped, there is a kitchenette (fridge, cutlery electric cooker etc), service is great, everything is clean and well taken care of. Breakfast was included in the price, buffet style, there are no queues at the coffee machine, or at the food. The restaurant has an open air terrace, we always sat there, overlooking the pool and the mountains (further in the background). Food was delicious, and there was always fruit too, mostly melon. There are two pools, a shallow one for small children and a bigger one, it is not overcrowded, and there are plenty of sunbeds too, so we enjoyed it very much. There is also a small supermarket on site, near the reception. The two ladies at the reception (Sophia and Maria) are very kind, guest oriented, they are very attentive and try to help with everything they can, but all other employees are also very friendly and helpful. The main street of Kavros is within a 10minutes' walk, and the beautiful sandy beach at about 15-20 minutes' walking distance from the Hotel. Actually, we liked it there so much, that we decided to extend our holiday at this Hotel with 6 more days. We are looking forward to returning there next year too.

First time in Crete and could not have picked a better place to stay. So relaxing and quiet. Everywhere was spotless. We stayed on a Bed and breakfast basis, and could not fault it at all, lots of choice, no shortage of anything and everything was so fresh and tasty. The pool is a good size, and never any issues with sunbeds, always available through the day. Nice terrace for the bar area and snacks are served. The staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly. Our apartment was spacious and overlooked the pool area. Again lovely and clean, but air conditioning is a must. We had a separate room with a fridge, table and chairs and sofa bed and small hob. Proper bath with shower over. The resort centre was a 10 minute walk away with some lovely places to eat. The hotel was quiet in the evening. So not disturbed by any loud music or noise from other guests. All in all a fantastic stay and we can't wait to go back next year.

Service is very friendly, rooms are nice and clean, they have a great pool and a nice terrace bar beside it. If you prefer the beach it's easy to get there by walk or car (parking lot at the hotel). Families with kids will love it. Kids are welcome and have lots of space. You arrive, they connect and you pick them up again when you leave :)
