Hotels with pool and beach in Crete

It should be mentioned that some rooms are not exactly 5 star visually at least, but who stays in a room at the hotel? :) In the end, it is a hotel that I would gladly return to due to its location on the island, the beach and the staff

ARB is a great family beach featuring a lot of great amenities. It has a sweet children’s club. From 1-3 there is a small daily fee, then from 4 and up, it is free

But on the other had, the pools were really great and so was the new water park. The toilets were too few and a bit far from the beach. There's a small shop inside with essentials and reasonably priced

There was a good selection of food and everything tasted great. Dining experience was top notch. The beach is a combo of sand and pebbles. Unfortunately there are also bigger rocks

Once you get over them, the sea bottom is pleasant. But it might not be a great spot for children. This is also because of the usual waves on Crete in general

We have just returned from our second stay with this hotel with my partner (our last time was in 2018) and we enjoyed this second visit so much more! Staff were really friendly, very helpful and polite

Sunbeds were reserved by the pool, just like on the beach. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, which completely made the trip. I wouldn't visit this hotel again. The price/performance ratio was okay

The beach has plenty of sunbeds and a bar, and the beach restaurant serves good food. We would definitely stay at this hotel again

We had our honeymoon from 20-27. 09 and everything was wonderful. The food, the beach, the staff attitude and the restaurants. We received an upgraded room and a late check-out because of delayed flight for free

We have a beautiful room looking out to the sea. Our room is lovely and spacious, and the food and service by all the staff is really good

We stayed at Star Beach in Crete and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is large, very clean, and the staff are kind and helpful

Awesome place Fantastisk hotell. It was like staying in a little village, they had everything inside the perimeter. shops, outdoor activities, playgrounds pools for the kids. Beautiful view to the sunset/sunrise

We now have a new room with a great view of the sea. That's why we're giving it two stars. It's a shame that the pool area (in the pool) hardly provides any shade. Unfortunately, it's not good for children

Fantastic family friendly hotel with a beautiful beach! We've visited Pilot Beach Resort two years in a row with our very young children (1 and 3 years old) and it's been a wonderful experience both times

The variety of food for kids is fantastic, although I wish they had boiled vegetables in the buffet options (like in all the other restaurants). The staff is wonderful, always friendly and accommodating to families

The food is always delicious and never disappoints. Especially the restaurant at the beach can be recommended. Having dinner there while watching the sun set is a super romantic and a warming experience

The buffet options at all the restaurants are excellent. The appetizers and main courses are always well-prepared and there’s something for everyone. However, for the desserts, only a few really stood out

We stayed at Lyttos Mare with two teenagers for a week in August 2025 in a two bedroom room with an individual pool. We have stayed in many five star hotels over the years, and this is at the top of the list so far

Lyttos mare is such a beautiful hotel - the staff were so attentive and couldn’t fault the food, the cleanliness & facilities! Plus the hotels steak and Asian restaurants were stunning but had to be booked during the week

You can access the sister hotel Lyttos beach and use their facilities such as the Olympic pool, waterpark, lyttopia, and see the entertainment each night (quizzes, bingo, performances & DJ nights) so there was plenty to do

The gym coach is amazing! Super friendly, helpful, and always in a great mood he made my workouts here even better. The hotel itself is fantastic too.. great vibe and everything well taken care of!

The facilities, cleanliness of the room and the resort and the beautiful catchy design definitely makes it one of the best. The all inclusive food is slightly repetitive

We have had a perfectly chilled, all inclusive week! The hotel is more adult friendly, but it was our 1 year olds first holiday and we wanted a relaxed atmosphere

Pool areas are clean and beautiful. Food is ok but made for a large crowd. Snacks in the pool areas are poor: only donats, small pies and some times watermelon. All inclusive is not worth of the price

As others have said lots of steps and hilly which was fine for us but not sure how accessible it would be for people with mobility issues. Walk to lake took about 20 minutes. Definitely recommend comfy shoes

You can put bed charge on your room bill or pay by card which we wished we'd known before as had no cash with us so had to use the rip off cash machine in the hotel

Gym - some equipment older but new stuff was being delivered whilst we were there. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice

Amazing hotel set in a beautiful beach. The Greek restaurant was especially good and the orange cake amazing. All inclusive means more relaxing as you don’t need to arrange anything

We came as a family of 4 with a 4 year old and 3 month old. The hotel is decent for a family break. Pools and slides very good for the kids and for an all inclusive the food wasn’t too bad although repetitive

Got to the room, and the bathroom was left in a disgusting state by whoever was before us, toilet and shower etc… dirty towels all over the bathroom still. No one had even changed towels in between family’s

Receptionist eventually sent a cleaner to sort it out but we obviously had to wait for this so wasted probably an hour and half in total messing about just to have a quick shower before transfer

We arrived at reception for the room to be told we’d have to wait for another 3 family’s to use it first. Not great with young children when you’ve been promised you wouldn’t have to wait

When I told reception this, the attitude shown was as disgusting as the room itself. It was as though it was our fault and we should just put up with it as it’s a room for everyone

We enjoyed relaxing around the main pool area on very comfy loungers and the lovely sandy beach is just in front of the Hotel. Entertainment was really good with something different on each evening

This hotel has the most stunning setting of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The main pool is especially gorgeous. Their all-inclusive meals were high quality and dining room service was great

We did get upgraded to a suite with a swim-up pool attached to our terrace, which was lovely. This was a nice place to bring our toddler. It felt family-friendly but sophisticated, too

Wonderful hotel everything we needed. Bar staff was especially lovely and cheerful. And also always arrive to provide wide range of drinks non alcoholic for me and good variety of alcoholic for my partner

We couldn’t check in until an hour after check-in time which was slightly inconvenient; looking back, it would’ve been helpful to unwind somewhere on the property and get a text when our room was ready

Hotel is on a peninsula by itself so you are a bus ride away from a town with bars and tavernas. There are plenty of pools in the hotel grounds and you have access to the beach and safe swimming areas

If you want to visit local towns etc prepare to travel for long periods time. Hotel offers all you need to have a relaxing, stress free holiday. Views amazing where ever you put your sunbed

Main pool can feel busy, but does have activities going on through the day. So we went to the Phaethon bar with pool. Which was quieter but still busy. Great if you sporty lots to do too

Little disappointed that indoor pool was closed on our visit for COVID related reasons, thought those days had passed. Large grounds mean that things don't feel overcrowded

we had our Honeymoon in this hotel and happened to have my wife's birthday. The hotel manager sent us a birthday cake and bubble wine as gifts

Were on site. Decent, very clean. There is a kids club and a children's pool with slides. Accommodation prices are above average.

The hotel has many swimming pools, especially for adults, but it also has 3 swimming pools for children

The only thing I didn't like was that I had to pay a fee of 15 € / day x 7 days = 105 € / room

That to me, is a great indication of a place that treats their staff well! The pools were gorgeous and so clean; the private beach was an actual slice of heaven; the food was so tasty (seriously - not a single disappointing dish!); and the facilities were so clean and tastefully decorated

one for children/babies 2 - 3 years old which is covered with a tarpaulin to create shade and be able to take advantage of it at any time of the day. and the other 2 are right next to the adult one

Our trip to the wonderful island of Crete was made so much more magical by the Alexander Beach Hotel. We will highly recommend to anyone thinking of Crete for their next holiday!

Fantastic stay. Stunning location. Loved cocktails in the lobby bar. All inclusive food and wine very good, included cocktails disappointing but Spritz’s in the lobby bar were terrific. Lovely views from all aspects.

The pool areas are small and there were not enough sunbeds and often 'reserved' by selfish people who think it's ok to do this and not turn up for hours despite a sign saying it was forbidden

The food choice and quality at the all inclusive was excellent, the vegetarian choice was good but we found many foods not labelled (apart from allergens) so sometimes it was hard to determine if it contained meat or not

Several things were missing from one room and the telephone didn't work so we had to keep traipsing to reception to get things fixed, which they did promptly. But despite reporting the phone twice it was never resolved

We chose the bungalow and had asked to have it arranged so my father in law was in one room to himself and my daughter in with me & my husband. The hotel confirmed that this was ok and could be arranged for our stay

This was not ideal for us as it meant we had to keep our door closed so we had privacy but meant my father in law was without any light apart from the dingy ceiling light so he felt like he was in a prison

Everything OK, but the main restaurant food was rather average and repetitive. Staff we very nice with decent service. Beach, with rocks so not easy to swim

The best hotel I've ever been to. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The hotel is sublime. It's a feast for the eyes. The atmosphere is great. I highly recommend it.

i would have liked more entertainment ( during the day and night) so i could come next time with my teenagers kids next time, but this is what make this place extra quiet

We are currently at the hotel and loving it! Starting with the good part (actually the excellent part): Almost everything is nothing less than perfect, and I have keen eyes to problmetic items The service, the cleanliness, the pools, the dozen bars, the food

Main dining room water dispenser is very far, so it will be closer to the pool, but an additional one closer to the internal sitting space would significantly help Otherwise this is an amazing hotel and would greatly recommend to every family!

The location and the variety of pools made our holiday even more enjoyable. Everything was very clean, and it’s clear that the hotel is committed to environmental awareness. The staff were always polite and helpful

All are amazing! Few things i would recommend changing though: 1. Most important for us: Omelettes and scrambled eggs are based on some terrible egg liquid. It has awful taste and even more terrible aftertaste

The wooden doors are old and have problematic locks. My spouse got locked for few minutes in the toilettes near the main dining room until was able to get out 4. Rooms are dull from design point of view

The pool area was kept clean and tidy but got extremely busy with people reserving sunbeds, we chose the beach as less hectic and loved the drinks service to the sunbeds

What an excellent hotel, the staff were all amazing. The room we had (125E) was exceptional, clean and comfy with no issues with storage. The only thing was no kettle but not a problem as I always take my own

We had a sea view room which was so comfortable and the bed was huge! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were here at the start of the season and not much was open which suited us as we wanted a relaxing holiday

Our only issue was with staff from the spa, my husband hurt his back some months ago and elected to have a couple of massages on the beach and got told off and told he was breaking the law,he made a complaint and was given a free 30 minutes massage which he said was quite good

The two pools are great not too busy Staff here are kind and seem genuinely to enjoy their job The location of hotel is fantastic. the hotel is right on the beach with many restaurants and tavernas to choose from

Rooms and hotel in general is very clean , staff were very helpful and attentive pool area was good with plenty sunbeds .we had a complementry bottle of prosecco in room on arrival

To give you and idea of the charges a massage and jacuzzi session for 2 had a special discount price of 189€! The pool area was very quiet, there wasn't much in terms of atmosphere, people kept themselves to themselves, there was some background music from the pool bar and an aqua aerobics class a couple of times a week that seems popular, but on the whole day times were slow and quiet

The overall condition of the hotel was good with comfy sunbeds and it was all kept clean, the hotel reception area is dated, I think they may be going for the rustic style but personally I think it just felt dated

Location Location is great 5 minute walk from the beach and the ***** with several supermarkets only 2 minutes away

Let me explain, in hotels I've scored higher previously, you get a good night and good morning from reception when walking past, here there was none of that, we stayed here for 10 nights and had the same drinks almost all the time, at other hotels the staff remember you and your order here this just didn't happen

Food Ok, again nothing special but nothing to complain about either, managed to get something to eat at every meal but nothing stood out as being amazing, there could be long queues for the fresh cooked station in the evening and also at the cold drink station at breakfast

Amirandes has an outstanding architecture and nice sea access. Katharina from reception did an outstanding job in sorting a view things out for us, super fast, nice and always customer first

The views are gorgeous, the entire complex is out of this world and having two beaches plus a huge pool on which you feel it is never too busy is amazing

I’m a vegan and they specifically looked for and made special dishes for me every day! The beach is sandy but not necessarily amazing

Easily the best hotel/resort we have ever stayed at. We had our wedding at Amirandes and also stayed for a few nights. The whole wedding planning process was seamless thanks to their professional staff

The food was delicious for any meal and snacks were great by the pool too for All inclusive. We have some food allergies in the family and they were accommodating and helpful to be sure we had all we needed

While the inclusions of play parks, multiple pools, baby beds and a daycare are nice considerations they do not overcome the multiple shortcomings we have noticed in our first few hours here

Time will tell if we get bored of the salad bar within our week long stay. The sea view from the main restaurant is very nice and quite peaceful

Last but not least, while the resort offers many activities, one of them is a mini-disco currently keeping my eldest up as it is quite loud and easily heard from our room. Overall, we expected more for 3000 euros a week

The glass showers do not fully close or the stairs are to work to be efficient leading to spilling and wet floors; also the drain cover is loose and flow is slow resulting in a piece of plastic floating around

The buffet was well furnished with various options of meats, fish, salads, sides and desserts. Although there are vegetarian options, they are clearly less varied and refined

Let’s start of with the room, we stayed in one of the villas in the resort, situated on the end of the cove away from the restaurants and main reception area, which I rather enjoyed as we were away from the hustle and bustle of the bars and night entertainment

Unfortunately, the weather was terrible during our stay—rain, wind, and clouds all week. April is definitely a gamble! Although the pools are advertised as heated, they weren’t that warm

Daios cove, or as I may say a cove of dreams. My family and I stayed here during the end of July to early August and this resort is absolutely exceptional

The views of the cove are absolutely phenomenal and the sea is pristine and clear. Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, in Greece

Next let’s talk about the food, the restaurant’s are amazing and there is a great children’s menu on offer, the buffet also has a lot of variety and I especially loved the soup on offer that night we were there

The room service was on another level, this is by far the best room service I have ever had in a hotel, there is a vast menu with a wide range of different food and desserts, from ramen to rice there is anything you could ever wish for

We recently had the pleasure of returning for our second stay, and it was every bit as delightful as we remembered! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home

The best part was there were so many guests but the place never seemed under maintained or messy. A must recommended place for family with kids and also couples. I'm definitely going back next summer

The scuba instructor was… let’s say not always the most customer centric. Not a hotel staff but they sub contracted

The food is exceptionally good and everyone in the staff is very friendly. It's a beautiful resort with lots of comfortable sunbeds around the pools. There is animation but not too late and not too loud

They were well-maintained and provided a relaxing oasis. We loved lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun, and enjoying refreshing drinks from the bar. Overall, our second visit was a fantastic experience

The beach, however, isn’t the most appealing, so we highly recommend renting a car to explore the surrounding area. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and would definitely come back!
