Alkion Hotel in Kriopigi

Lovely family run hotel. Large rooms.Quiet location. Spotlessly clean. Lovely atmosphere. Great tavernas up the hill. Taverna Nikos - amazing food and superb service and the Casablanca bar fun and great for lunch and snacks. A visit or two to Afytos an absolute must.! The beach and beach bar and view incredible! A lovely walk to the beach through pine forest although Yannis will take you and pick you up! Sadly we didn't have the weather in October but it came highly recommended and didn't disappoint.

A really lovely hotel. Amazing views and lovely staff. We loved everything about it and can highly recommend it. The staff were brilliant and even located a local Physio when my Husband hurt his shoulder. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Food is great and having the pool side bar for food and drink is an added bonus. The minibus to and from the beach is another great addition. We would definitely recommend and will hopefully return again soon. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful. NB Can also recommend using Hallikidi Rent A Car just along the main road.

From arrival to leaving we had a wonderful holiday at this hotel. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, particularly the pool bar staff who were so kind to our 5 year old granddaughter and made us all feel very welcome. The rooms were big and had everything you needed and the little kitchenette meant you could do simple food for yourselves if you wanted. The breakfast had something for everyone but some extra fresh fruit choices would have been good. The walk to shops and bars was uphill but not difficult and the village had everything you needed. The walk down to the beach was pleasant and the bus back worked well. We walked it once and it was only really the heat that made it harder. In summary, we had a brilliant holiday and would have no hesitation in returning if there weren’t so many other places to visit in the world.

amazing. The pool is very good for kids as it has a good shallow end for little ones but also has a very deep end for the bigger ones. The cleaners are excellent and the rooms are kept in perfect condition and are very spacious than other places in greece i’ve visited. The bar is a bit expensive however they are constantly playing taylor swift so bonus points for that!

What a wonderful little gem of a hotel. Idyllic views and immaculate gardens. Lovely staff and friendly hotel cats. Everything is simple and basic which really helps you to switch off. It is on a hill which is a warm walk to the beach or village but why not burn some holiday calories ? Would definitely recommend and return

Lovely hotel, would recommend: Pro’s: - Beautiful setting and stunning views, it’s exactly like the photos. - Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, can also easily move them onto the grass for shade or extra space - Lovely green space for kids to play - Has the small hotel feel and never felt overcrowded and everyone staying there really friendly - Good location easy enough if you are mobile to walk up the hill to the restaurants, shops etc and down the hill for the beach - Plenty of choice at breakfast and really like the change of daily Greek pastries (although if you are getting there around 10am it’s not replenished and usually cold with a prompt finish at 10:30). - Plenty of parking if you are looking to hire a car. - Rooms made and towels changed daily by two lovely ladies, I wouldn’t necessarily say daily clean and bedding wasn’t changed (I honestly wouldn’t usually notice but my little boy got toothpaste on our bed) and this did not bother us the main thing for us was the fresh towels. - Some lovely staff there, friendly life guard, bar staff, a lovely lady who helped us on our late arrival and a great guy on reception who my boys loved going to see along with the cats. Lots of lovely little things like helping us out using the facilities on our last day. Cons: - We were disappointed that we had to continually ask if we could arrange a late check out (for a 7:30pm departure with two children) to finally being told we had to wait until the morning we were due to check out and eventually told no. We would have just preferred being told initially and felt like there was a management hierarchy at the hotel which is a shame especially knowing there was availability. - Rooms are very basic, everything we needed, we didn’t use any of the kitchen facilities other than the fridge but not sure you would really be able to make too much if you aren’t planning to eat out. - It’s a hilly area so wouldn’t suit everyone especially in the heat. Takes about 5/10 mins to walk up the hill to the shops/restaurants and 15 mins to walk down to the beach, obviously the downside is the walk back up. There is a bus but we didn’t use it as didn’t want to be restricted to timings. We had a lovely holiday and would absolutely recommend.

Lovely, friendly hotel. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. Pool bar has a good choice and reasonably priced for lunch. Reception staff helpful. A late check out option was really useful as our transfer wasn’t until 5pm, so we felt like we got an extra day out of our holiday. Steep but short climb up into the village, plenty of lovely places to eat. We’d recommend the tavernas Balatsos and Nikos for traditional Greek food at a reasonable price. Beach was disappointing as a wide rocky section to get past before you get into the sea. Water shoes recommended, sunbeds were very expensive in the part we were, 30€ for two! Climb back up the hill from the beach to the hotel steep but expected. Didn’t use the hotel bus but it runs a few times a day. Overall we had a lovely holiday, family suite was a good option with two teens, had to ask for an additional sofa bed but sorted out quickly and efficiently by the staff. Lovely views from the balcony terrace of the sea and hotel gardens. Would stay here again.

A lovely little gem, a small hotel in beautiful gardens with stunning views. Large clean rooms. All have either a balcony or terrace. Lovely staff. Would recommend a visit. It is a walk-up the hill to the village, so if you have mobility issues, it may not be for you. If you haven't, it is well worth the walk

This hotel is in a really lovely, peaceful setting and maintained to a very good standard. Contrary to some other reviews they offer a very good selection at breakfast. The rooms we had were clean and spacious. It’s only a few minutes walk up hill to the shops and restaurants but a bit more of a trek to and from the beach. Suggest using the minibus service. All in all this hotel offers an excellent holiday destination. We would not hesitate to recommend it.
