Lido Apartments in Tolo

⸻ Really disappointing stay. The room was old, poorly soundproofed, and very noisy – getting a good night’s sleep was almost impossible. Breakfast was poor and low quality, nothing special at all. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it; there are definitely better options in Tolo.

Unfortunately this hotel messed up our whole vacation. Although we had done our booking and we had confirmation on our emails (plus we paid a deposit in january 24) when we got there the owner pretended to have had no recollection of ever doing our booking or the confirmation of that just 2 weeks prior to our visit. After a long time and a heated discussion with us she accepted to look at what we were showing her on our emails and acknowledged that in fact that was her account and she indeed speak to us. Plus she got a 30% deposit! It goes without saying no good explanation was given for all these nor did she care where we would all stay. In the end she blamed the bank for not including her name or informing her of the tranfer of the money (funny thing she send us an email specifically requesting the transfer in that account!) and she sort of found us an alternative choice (that was not up to our standards and definitely not suitable for a family). Overall experience with this place: terrible.

After years of travelling today was the first time we felt so degraded, ridiculed & treated unfairly. We booked our rooms for 2 families from January 2024, (we always book summer holidays promptly) for 3 nights, we paid our deposit immediately and confirmed our reservation & dates 2 weeks ago all via email. When arriving at the hotel today (with 5 children between the 2 families) we were told there were no rooms avaialble and that our booking was 3 days later. We referred to the confirmation email, owner refused to even look at it, initially wouldn't accept any wrong doing. And immediately started question if we had paid deposit and to which account. Again we referred to proof of payment , confirmation of receipt of payment and confirmation from her personally via email 2 weeks ago, that everything was in order. She actually couldn't understand why we were getting upset and showed no sympathy to the fact that 2 families were to be left hanging after a long travel and prompt pre- planning. She eventually admitted she confused us with somebody else that had changed dates(no apology though , no rooms) and still continued to question our deposit. Eventually gave our deposit back, but with a terrible attitude. Upon our persistence we had no where to go, called a couple of hotels in area and told us to go to another hotel and all would be fine, still with attitude as if we had done something wrong. We went to thr other hotel, they initially told us they had no clue, eventually word got down to reception, the rooms were very old, not of the standard we had booked and would not be comfortable for the family of 5. We were lucky enough to find another hotel after many phone calls on our on accord to get through the 3 days. Very disappointed with the way we were treated and the general attitude we were subjected to today, we booked , paid , confirmed promptly , after so many years of travelling, this was a first. Very bitter taste left.
