Belmare Hotel in Lardos

Worst place i ever visited, had to move hotel half way through my holiday. Would not recommend.

When arriving to the hotel yesterday we were greeted by a lovely receptionist. When going to our room we immediately saw the downsides. Pictures added* we chose to ignore these for now as everything else could be different… Wrong! as we went down to the pool to sit in the sun we noticed the pool is a LOT smaller than the pictures and is also dirty. The bartender staff are lovely and we were able to celebrate our anniversary with delicious shots made especially for us! but… As we went to dinner we noticed that the food was cold, even under those heaters.. weird. There also isn’t a big selection of food and most of it tastes pretty bland. Another big downside is that the hotel is surrounded by main roads all around… you cannot chill in peace without loud truck noises, bikes and cars constantly going off. As talking to other people staying, they have been saying the same thing about the food and there being NO entertainment so everyone has just been going to bars and restaurants themselves. As taking a 5 minute walk down to the rocky beach, we quickly realised that the deck chairs at the beach weren’t for our hotel… why is there pictures of them if they aren’t our hotels? I think this place isn’t worth 4 stars and while walking to the beach we was quickly filled with regret and utter disappointment for this hotel as all the other places were showing this one up. Everything is falling apart and we don’t even want to step foot in the dirty pools or even eat the food.. what a waste of bloody money. Don’t even bother coming to this hotel.

I am currently still staying here. The hotel is filthy, rude staff, freezing cold food. Room- your bed is on a concrete slab with an uncomfortable mattress which springs dig in your back, dirty linen, dirty bedroom. The cleaner only just about makes the bed and empties the bin. The floor is thick with dust, the bathroom is full of limescale and dirt, the balcony is filthy and ‘clean’ linen is covered in marks. We have had to clean the room ourselves as we cannot get anywhere with the cleaning staff. Stripped and remade our own bed. Dirty mugs and glasses in bedroom, asked for clean ones and the cleaner rinsed them in the sink. Restaurant - the food is tasty don’t get me wrong, not many choices at all and the same stuff on at dinner and tea but the food is lukewarm at best, by the time you have got your food and sat down it’s stone cold. I haven’t had a single pudding due to only being the same 3 options on every night. The drinks in the restaurant are pure syrup, the pop isn’t drinkable. The ‘fresh’ juices are warm, the coffee is decent but only one good option. We haven’t used a single glass from downstairs as they are all filthy we have used the paper cups instead. Pool area- the pool is dirty, black bits at the bottom and absolutely freezing, unsure if that is due to time of year or the same all round so can’t really judge of that. The drinks around the pool are okay and the pop doesn’t seem to be the same from inside. Safety- staff have let themselves in our room whilst we were asleep. We asked them to Come and clean the hot tub as it was filthy and they said 3 hours (around 3pm) so we had a nap, we woke up to the maintenance guy at the bottom of the bed. People from outside of the hotel can access our pool and surrounded areas very easily as there is no security. We have had to spend money on meals out of the hotel and drinks which we shouldn’t have to at an all- inclusive. All in all. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, 2-3 at most.
