Andronis Arcadia in Oia

Since we booked with I Preferred points, Andronis Arcadia was good value for us but we would not pay out of pocket to stay here. In terms of the pros, we really appreciated the nice gesture to celebrate our special occasion. It was really thoughtful and we enjoyed the gifts during the turndown service very much. Pool was beautiful. The location and view was excellent as well, 5 min walk from the photo spots. We were also offered an €100 voucher to use during our stay out of the blue, which we were surprised about (we understood why later) However there is a decent amount of improvements needed from the hotel to justify the price:

1. When delivering amenities we ordered (sewing kit, bags etc) the staff either came directly inside of our room when we were still inside, or banged very aggressively on the door to the point that startled us and we waited in fear for our items to arrive. The wait time is also long, waited about 45 min for the items to arrive, especially considering we were in a unit right next to reception. Several complimentary items we ordered (ie pillow mist) were also never delivered without explanation.
2. The room decor wasn’t our favorite, it looks like what contemporary looked like in 2016… shampoo and shower gel bottles were hard to use, with only a cork top. The gel either completely poured out or in the case of conditioner completely stuck inside. A pump would be much better. Also very little amenities were provided: no toothpaste, brush, poorly stocked minibar etc. fruits in the fruit basket were extremely sour… lots of room to improve
3. Breakfast had good variety but quality was just ok, and we found hair in our beans. Waitress were very eager to take the menu away, and we had to ask for it multiple times to order seconds. The view was amazing for the sunset dinner at Pac-Man, but oh man the prices for sushi was insane (no wonder we were offered the €100 voucher) 5-8 pcs were like €40 (~€6 per tiny piece of sushi…) and the quality was mediocre at best. The place is packed with influencers and their boyfriends at sunset time, so it’s hard to have a peaceful dinner and enjoy the sunset with people queuing to take photos in front of the pool.
4. For some reason, the sauna and steam bath were on an appointment basis and closed until late in the morning, with the reason being that there’s a limit on how many people can be in the sauna at the same time. This was odd to me since I’d assume people wouldn’t enter the sauna if it’s full anyways. since the spa attendants start working quite late in the morning, we were not able to use these amenities during our stay.

After coming here right after a trip to Asia, the standard of hospitality here felt quite a few levels off. Everything was fine but nothing felt luxurious or stood out, especially considering the price point.
