Unity Hostel at Udvar(rom) in Budapest

First of all yes it is very cheap. but be aware of a lot of dust🤦🏽‍♂️, bad smell, a lot of noise at night, sweat smell everywhere. in the hallway, stairs and even worse in the room or the toilet. the beds were so bad and are metal that was the only time they made so much noise that you could wake up from it🫨. be careful not to trust the people sitting at the reception, I got it loose. and in the morning when I was going to leave they wouldn't let me have it back. the woman who works at the reception on Sunday the 20th at 10:30 she was so rude that I tried to be sweet, kind, funny, tried all different ways to be kind but it didn't work😢. I put some things on the desk that they have at the reception. then she got up and pushed my things away. after being there I saw that she became aggressive and aggressive! I didn't want any problems so I said ok and left the place very quickly! Being on holiday doesn't just mean having fun but peace😕, sleep and safety are also very important! so my tip is for you to rent a place that is a little expensive but safer, better customer service, communication, and a better place to sleep or be in. good luck & be safe!❤️

Worst experience of my life, everything is awful, extremely stinky, did someone took a shit or what? I cannot even tolerate that for like 10minutes, don’t ever think spending a night here, very hot and dirty, I would not recommend that for anyone, please don’t come to that hostel, it’s just a waste of money, trust me.

Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Disgusting rooms with stains on walls and beds, filthy atmosphere and smell, dirty bathrooms missing basic amenities, unhelpful staff. Užas.

It is a very classic scam. The photos on Hostelworld or booking.com look nothing like real life, and they don’t mention online that the rooms are directly above a very loud bar. It’s not possible to fall asleep before about 4am. When i asked to change rooms to the one advertised online, one staff member told me that these photos were of the hostel’s different location, and another told me they were of an AirBnb next door.

This not the hostel to stay in if you want to sleep. The club is right downstairs and they blast the same annoying songs every night until 4 in the morning. The only thing between the rooms and that is a thin piece of glass. It's a shame too because actually for the price, the hostel otherwise wasn't bad. The location is great, staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are fine, shower had consistent hot water, etc. Maybe if you're coming to town just to party all night this place is okay, but if you plan to sleep earlier than 4am I'd look elsewhere.

This is actually my first time ever reviewing a hostel but it had to be done. I will keep it short. You get what you pay for. Horrible hygiene at this place, filthy bathrooms and rooms and a dirty common room. The staff was also very unprofessional and spoke in a very condescending way. 1/5 is a compliment. Pick another hostel. They need to upgrade the entire hostel.

I wouldn’t stay even if it’s free. Since the very beginning we had a bad experience. The privacy is something that doesn’t exist. We got waken up by random people of the staff entering our room without saying anything while we were sleeping. Firstly, it was a cleaning lady that went into the bathroom, then it was in our room opening the windows and curtains and after that the lady left the door open while we were sleeping in the room.
Afterwards, a random dude came in and started looking at every single person in bed and left again without saying anything and of course the door was left opened.
As we tell the staff, they were super offended saying that we have to tell in advance that if we don’t want people entering our room we have to notice them first.
If this wasn’t enough, the beds are literally in the bar, the music stops at four am and the rooms are super hot, if you open the window all the weird people can see you in the room.
Please avoid at all cost.
