Let’s start from the beginning - the location right across the national museum is amazing. The building itself is majestic, the style of the hostel is incredible and I loved that it was consistent everywhere from the hallways to your bathroom.
The reception is absolutely breathtaking, original, gorgeous! The staff was so nice to us even thought arrived almost at midnight and then we asked for extra pillows which was no problem at all.
Our room / apartment was so nice and cozy, we loved every inch of it!
It was our first visit in Budapest and we couldn’t pick a better accommodation for that, we absolutely loved it and we’re looking forward to coming again!
The only two things were
1) no elevator but stairs are doable and for the building worth it!
2) the apartment was too hot and we were not able to regulate the heating (maybe it would help to ask the staff about it but we were too lazy I guess…).
Overall highly recommended!

Listen to me carefully, you petits sauvages (complaining in the comments. I have stayed in palaces from Versailles to Dubai, and yet, my heart belongs to Lavender Circus.

Why? Because of Siobhan.

That woman is a chef-d'œuvre! A masterpiece! She handled my vintage Hermès luggage as if it were made of holy relics. She has the poise of a ballerina and the efficiency of a Swiss watch. If you found her 'curt', it is likely because your presence was an assault on her refined senses. Désolée, but truth is truth!

The atmosphere? Pure poésie. The scent? Heavenly. If you are a person of quality, you will adore it. If you are a person of... budget constraints and bad manners, please, do us all a favor and stay at the airport.

Siobhan, ma chérie, do not listen to the peasants. They are just salty because they will never have your je ne sais quoi.

I shall return with my poodle and my private security next month. Santé!

We stayed a few nights during January 2026. This is such a cute place! We loved the spacious living area. It was nice to have a kitchen and a refrigerator too. Very safe place to stay. There are several places to eat and nice grocery stores near by.

The hotel has a very interesting and unusual interior design, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, there are several significant downsides. First, be prepared that there is no elevator, and you have to walk up to the 4th floor.
The rooms are in desperate need of maintenance. The layout is not well thought out: there is nowhere to hang or store clothes, and there are no shelves in the bathroom. Additionally, the shower head holder was broken, and the hot water boiler is too small for a comfortable stay. Another issue is the heating, which is controlled by a single thermostat in the hallway for all rooms. Finally, the photos on Booking.com are mixed up and do not accurately represent the actual rooms.

Location was very central and convenient. The room wasn't as seen in the pictures but worked out. Staff was accommodating.

The building is old but we'll kept, there are plenty of stairs and the hostel is on the top floor, I love the wallpaper designs. Hot water goes out sometimes so shower quickly! The location is very central if you enjoy walking to see the city. I've added videos of our room and views from the window. My dog, Hokis, and I are enjoying our stay.

Great! Very good price and very good location. It's a basic studio apartment. Easy self-check-in. Only suggestions would be to have separate listings for the two locations, and to accept credit cards rather than cash only.

We stayed at their offsite apartments. The building is dated and not wholly owned by lavander and at first it put my partner off upon entry, but when we got to our apartment, we were both so impressed by it, absolutely incredible and definitely worth every penny. We even had a piano in our room lol. Right around the corner from one of the harry potter bars, the forsale pub and the best shooting range I've been to. I cannot express how happy I am with the accommodation and location. 10/10

The one thing that should be stated is that there is not lift and at least 3 flights of very long stairs to climb up.
