We were in Visegrad for the Buhurt (medieval style fighting) championships. We chose Hotel Visegrad because it was an easy walk to the Palace grounds where the competition was being held. We travelled to Visegrad by public transport from Budapest airport - and all went very smoothly. We had booked two rooms to accommodate our family - both were clean and comfortable - and the air conditioning was very effective - which was great as it was so hot. Check in and out were easy and the reception staff were helpful - and spoke English. I used Google translate on one occasion. I used the indoor pool a couple of times - and it was grand. We enjoyed the food - half-board (buffet) was included but we also had lunch there, once in the restaurant and once a snack in the bar area. I have a food allergy - and the restaurant staff were brilliant - making sure I knew what I could and could not eat - and even offered to prepare something different if I couldn't find anything I liked. There was quite a bit of choice so that wasn't an issue. I think the hotel was fully booked - but it never felt overcrowded and any of the staff we interacted with were very helpful and polite. A very enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel in an attractive area.

The hotel and facilities were first class. The staff were very professional,especially David who helped make a birthday celebration very memorable. Tibor Zellor (owner) was very welcoming and ensured that we had a wonderful stay.

A lovely location with great views from the rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated that they took care of arranging rides and so forth for us (we don't speak hungarian). The spa is delightful and the rooms are clean and very quiet at night.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Early check-in was available. Nice restaurant with plenty of choices for breakfast. Had a complimentary free dinner. Laundry and iron were done for free as well. Nice and cozy atmosphere in the hotel and around it.

Very nice place, good rooms, very helpful and kind staff. The kitchen is good and plentiful. The services offered (Renaissance dinner in a restaurant nearby) are interesting. You can make nice trips in the area. You can reach Szentendre, Vác, but even Slovakia by bike.

Very clean,comfortable room,very politika staff and good service.The Spa fa cikizés are good and the Royal dinner program was excellent.Quick check-in and out and we arrive earlier but our romos were already ready.It was quiet ,perfect place for relaxing

Great spot for a weekend. My wife I had the privilege to leave the kids behind for two nights.
Room great and nice view with a balcony.
Even with families at the hotel we were able to enjoy and relax. Good facilities and good pools inside and out.
Food was good but you would not rush back for a half-board.
All in all we really liked the experience and would recommend for a short stay.

A hotel with excellent location. The staff is very polite. The wellness section was too crowded. It was difficult to get into the tiny Finnish sauna. The wellness section was very loud, too, and not only because of the people, but also because disco music was played by the hotel there. The food is slightly below average Hungarian wellness hotel. A bit old-style.

Hotel Visegrad was a beautiful experience for me and my family (2 adults and 2 children 10 and 8).
The hotel is located 45 min. from Budapest, on the banks of the Danube in a beautiful area. The services offered by the hotel were very pleasant (boat ride on the Danube, medieval show with soldiers and medieval weapons, several heated pools both outside and inside and the hospitality of the staff is a big plus for this hotel).
We will come back here for sure!

The hotel is not a four star establishment in my opinion. The public areas are nice, poolside as well but the rooms are faded even the superior ones. Very bad lighting in room/bathroom either to dark or to bright. I booked a room with balcony but got a room without. Went back to front desk and all they could offer was a regular room. No refund for the price difference offered. We decided to stay in the first appointed room and after asking for a refund all the front desk staff could offer was a 5%refund for our four nights stay. The room was not cleaned properly. We found garbage from previous guests and a big greasy spot on the mirror. During our stay house keeping only changed the towels and emptied the garbage can.no cleaning during our four nights stay. Front desk staff is very business like no friendliness to be found with exception of the interns. The food in the restaurant was tasty, good and there was enough variation. Most waiters seemed friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the surroundings of Visegrád. Much to see. Nice to walk around and to visit the historic highlights. You can even cross the Danube by ferry to explore the opposite tide of Nagymaros. But I would not return to this hotel. No value for money in my opinion.
