I want to share my treatment experience. I went there for the first time in 2019. What a service! Professional staff, healthy food. I wish I could find fault with anything, everything was wonderful. I came back for the second time in 2025. It's terrible, I now have something to compare it to. Besides raising prices, they also fired professional staff, so there's no one to work. Two nurses run around like brooms, the food is far from Ayurvedic. They stopped doing baths. I asked why? They told me secretly that it was expensive???? Is this normal? They shortened massages by half an hour. They did a cleansing, and I almost died. They didn't finish it completely, they left me alone in the room (I understand I should run further, there aren't enough staff). When I felt like I was going to lose consciousness, I went out into the hallway to get help, but the therapist spent more time talking than doing their job. Acupuncture is not done by professionals. I never complain and have never written negative comments. I like to talk about the good things, but I didn't come back from vacation and treatment, but from a nervous breakdown. I'm writing this so people know where they're going.

I was not a hotel guest, I was undergoing a medical examination. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. The doctor and the assistant treated me kindly and carefully. I can warmly recommend it to everyone!

I spent two amazing weeks at Calendula Hospital. The staff and doctors are professional, kind, and truly caring. I loved how they combine Western medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Therapists, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and healthy personalized meals made my stay exceptional. I can’t wait for follow-ups, massages, and my yearly treatment!

First of all, it must be said that this is a medical institution! People come here for treatment, not for relaxation! So don't count on restaurants and alcohol, there is none! Here is a deep detox and treatment! If Ayurveda is your thing and you don't want to fly to India, then here is a piece of it on the shores of Lake Balaton.

I had high hopes for this Ayurveda retreat, but overall, it fell short and didn’t offer good value for the price. One of the disappointments was the accommodation. It was not communicated beforehand that we would be staying in an old, lower-quality building with broken shower and ants in the room, that felt more like a 2-3 star hotel—not the 4-star level that was implied or advertised. The food, while healthy, was very basic and repetitive, lacking variety and inspiration. Given the focus on nutrition in Ayurveda, I expected more attention to creativity and nourishment in the meals. The massage treatments were nearly identical every day and unfortunately did not help with the neck pain or discomfort I had hoped to relieve. There seemed to be little customization or adaptation to individual needs, which made the treatments feel more routine than therapeutic. The last day they made up for it and scheduled experienced physicians that helped relieve my tension. On a more positive note, the yoga classes and healing gymnastics were genuinely good and led by competent instructors. However, the overall daily schedule was too crowded, leaving little time to rest or reflect between activities. That said, the doctors on-site were a clear positive. They seemed knowledgeable, took the time to listen, and approached health in a genuinely holistic way. Their care and attention were appreciated, even if the rest of the experience didn’t meet expectations. However, my experience was overshadowed by the astronomical prices and the social atmosphere. The majority of guests were Russian, and as a Hungarian, I often felt like an outsider. It seemed that Russian guests were prioritized or favored, and this left me feeling like a second-class participant in the experience. In the end, I left disappointed, feeling that the retreat was overpriced, lacking in transparency, and not nearly as inclusive or high-quality as it claimed to be.

Excellent stay at Calendula Ayurveda center in Siofók, Hungary. Each day is followed according to personal program, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. blood pressure check, 7:30-8:30 a.m. yoga, after breakfast, medical control and individual therapies, gymnastics, as needed, acupuncture. In free moments you can take salt therapy, swimming pool, etc. Each patient, with their personal program according to the doctor's recommendations. The nurses, receptionist, cleaning staff, security staff, restaurant manager are very friendly, the gymnastics, yoga, massage instructor is of a high level. The restaurant offers healthy meals. The services of all the staff is very professional. In every corner of the hotel you can breathe a very good vibe, even in the decorations of the corridors. There is a pleasant atmosphere, beautiful hotel, everything in order and clean. I recommend it. It is an unforgettable experience, body and mind in relaxation.
