Nice hotel in a nice town with nice food
Beautiful view from our room over the Nordfjordur. The waiter gave good ideas to what to see in the area.

The hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Although this town is quite far from the ring road, it was a pleasant stay. Food was extra expensive but it seems to be a norm in Iceland anyway.

It's a student dorm but in the summer it's a hotel. Therefore the rooms are not super cosy, but it's okay and clean. All rooms have a great view onto the fjord! Breakfast was great! And you can make your own waffles! 😍

Spent a night here on our Ring Road trip around Iceland. Lovely family run farm that has a guest house for travelers as well as Icelandic horse riding tours. It was a nice change from staying at hotels and the first time we really got to have some conversations with the knowledgable people who actually live here. Part of visiting a country is also getting to know the people… but it is easy to be distracted...
Guest house outside the village, with horses and possibility of horseback riding. Cooking facilities.Must leave shoes on a rack at the entrance. 6 microscopic rooms on second floor, single bed for two, with one side leaning against the wall. The impression is that the original rooms were split into 2. You can hear the neighbors as if they were in the room. Microscopic bathroom with the smallest sink...

This was our favourite accommodation of our two week vacation in Iceland. The area is stunning, accommodations clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and it was lovely to chat with the family who are all welcoming and informative. We also did a horse ride which was amazing, felt safe and got to see some more of the beautiful area. I would highly recommend Skorrahestar!
My husband and I did a 1 hour tour here and had a great time as this was our first time ever riding a horse! The ride was very easy and the horses were super gentle. The views were phenomenal! Passing cows, wild flowers, and walking along the stream. The guide was very friendly and patient. She also gave educated us about Iceland along the ride. The property also has baby lambs, Arctic fox pup, chickens...

Very quaint, comfortable and cozy hotel. It is modest but with an old-school Icelandic taste. We had all we needed for a good stay. Our windows faced beautiful mountains and the area itself is a small charming fishing town.
It was easy to find, cozy and quiet.
The house is on the roadside and is very easy to find. I live on the second floor and it is very inconvenient to carry my luggage. The room is very dark.
The best restaurant in the town! If you miss some Asian food or want something different from burger and pizza, this is your best choice, a 3mix Thai dishes. It has salad, spring rolls, fried shrimps(a lot), fried chicken noodle(which I found the best), rice and two sauces. Totally cost only 2900kr, which can fully comfort your stomach by the Thai chef here. I will definitely come again🥰🥰😋 P.s. free...
This is only about the restaurant: food and service was amazing!!! They saved us from going hungry after the other restaurants in town ran out of food. They even stayed open later just to accommodate us. Takk!!!
Brilliant hotel and restaurant

Cliff hotel in the town of Neskaupstadur ( hope spelling is correct ) has great view with fiord view from the window - Wi-Fi is good and rooms are clean. There is a pool table in the common area and few other games. Hotel is used to hosts student exchange programs from Europe that works locally in some businesses. For example the hotel receptionist was one of them. Great breakfast!!!
The hotel is at a nice location. Very nice views from the room and the dining room. Breakfast buffet is included and is basic but good. Room is comfy with basic furniture. If nobody is at the reception, they usually leave sign to come and get them either from the dining area or call. There is snooker and table tennis available as well. Lobby also has some great views. We enjoyed our stay.
Spectacular view of the fjörd from my room (even saw seals!), great breakfast, and clean and comfy room. We were very happy with our stay 😊

Super nice remote Fjord. We saw a MinkeWhale just in front of the pier . A small fuel station - no idea if it works and who to contact. Road here is awesome . Not “dangerous” at all. It’s a normal mountain road
The drive is dangerous and challenging to get here on the one road in but the place and the views are amazing. Much better than the hlid hostel in comfort, size, and amenities. Would only come here out of your way if you need to though and it adds 1.5 hours at least in driving time round trip.
It's a lovely guesthouse in a former school building, with a small room but a comfortable common area and a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful views of the fjord. The area is a bit isolated--just a tiny village, and it takes over an hour to get there from the main road by a steep winding dirt road. We hiked up the hill, but the trail isn't well maintained. It's a great place for peace and quiet, but not...
Welcome to Iceland's smallest village and best kept secret. The drive is an hour from highway 1 with lot of hairpin bends and gravel road. But the view is breath taking. If you're looking for a camp site or guest house in a peaceful place, Sobreka guest house is a diamond. The fjour is beautiful and peaceful. 6/5.
Everything went well. It is a very calm relaxing area. The cost is reasonable considering the location is an hour drive from the nearest town. Most of the drive is a single gravel road next to water which is beautiful but it would be a little scary in the dark. Overall a solid place!
Absolutely life changing to be out here in the peace and quiet… And it was literally that, just the sounds of nature, fresh breeze and glorious sights! Accomodation was simple but did the job, for the serenity I would come here again any day! Just a bit difficult to get to on the gravel… I suppose it adds to the feeling as not many people come or go… ❤️

The room was on the small side but it was adequate for our needs, and there was a pleasant shared area where one could sit to read. That area also had a kitchen that guests could use. The entire property was clean, and the shower in our private bathroom was more...
Interesting idea to rebuild something like a boathouse into a guesthouse. There is a beautiful view to enjoy. We even had the choice between a room with double bed and view to the mountains or a room with two beds and view to...
The guesthouse was nice. We had a private bedroom with private bathroom. The bathroom was clean but tiny. The room was comfortable. They have a kitchen where you can cook but you can’t cook after 10pm.
Great Guest house. The location was gorgeous and the owners were friendly and accomodating with us. They also provvide a big traditional breakfast the next morning.
Had a room with a double bed. Room was tiny. Bathroom had a horrible stench like the sewer system was backed up, stench spread throughout the hallway all day. The only good thing about this guesthouse was the amazing views and the bedding was very comfortable.
Great spot. Clean rooms, lovely bathroom, nicest towels we've had in Iceland and great communal kitchen with utensils. AND WIFI!!

Convenient to restaurants and shops in town. "Filling Station" restaurant next door looked great in photos, but closed for family trip when we were there. Kitchenette available for guests. No host, but key code sent by email for lockbox. Large room.
We arrived in the evening and we had no problem getting our key from the lockbox. The access was very clean and our room had a nice view of the waterfall in the distance. The rooms are spacious and quiet and we did not hear any of the other guests all night. Parking is no problem and there is a convenient gas station next door.
The location is great, but the guesthouse itself is very small and not suitable for a stove in the middle, as the Chinese were frying fish for an hour, and our entire room was filled with a terrible smell. My husband threw up from it; the smell was unbearable. In such a small house, the only thing you can leave is a microwave.
The kitchen facility was clean and handy for making a quick meal or tea. The rooms are clean and updated. The beds were comfortable and the location is near to shopping and food. This has e writhing you need for an overnight stay like ours, or for a couple of days if you are making day trips from this area.
Excellent place ; very clean ; tidy kitchen ; request to keep some milk or milk powder for the coffee
It's an acceptable place for staying one night but nothing charming about it. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. There is one shared kitchen which is too small for all the rooms and was crowded at dinner time. It has a very small dishwasher to leave the dirty dishes in, but in the morning was full and running so all the dishes were laying dirty in the kitchen sink.

Great little place to stay - felt at home and had everything we needed. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights here - a dream come true for me! Friendly folks as well :) totally recommend
We were 4 friends and shared a family room. The room was enough for us and was also clean. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were used by all guests and although there were so many people, it was always clean. People show consideration for each other here. We liked the sauna. Only the rooms were a bit noisy, so you could often hear snoring from the other rooms.
I love Hafaldan hostel. Stayed here for the third time and was not disappointed. The place is so warm and inviting, and the complementary sauna in the basement (which has been added since I was last there) is amazing. Highly recommend.
The Hostel is a very nice, charming place. It has a great, well equipped kitchen and a nice dining room. The rooms are very clean, but a little alert. Thomas and the nice young woman are very kind and helpful. The guests are international and open minded. I am happy we habe been there.
This is a very special hostel with a warm family vibe. It's just walking distance away from the rainbow walk and makes a good stop for the ring road trip.
We got a room with private bathroom. The room was spacious and the bed was decent. The bathroom was poorly designed - specifically the sink had a ledge over it which prevented anyone from being able to wash their face properly. The bathroom had no body wash, shampoo, conditioner or body soap.

This property is located in a quiet place. We drove into a parking lot labelled with the name only to discover that registration was half a block back. Other guests helped direct us where to go. The room is sufficient for laying your head down but is much too tiny without enough room to open luggage. It is clean and has a cute communal kitchen but should be advertised as a rooming house or hostel in my opinion.
The hotel is located in a cute lake town. The building used to be a post office that turned into hotel. Based on the pictures provided by *******, I chose the least expensive room as I couldn't see much difference between the rooms. That was a mistake. We couldn't fit our suitcase in the room. The hotel is nice, everything is pretty clean. The staff is friendly. The beds aren't very comfortable, the mattress is soft, and there's almost nothing to eat for breakfast. A refrigerator in the room would be nice.
I can’t understand how can someone say that the room is small and has “many” stairs.. it is literally 15 stairs to the room, which is very spacious as you can see in the picture.
Breakfast was good but only from 07 to 09, st short and not been able to check in befor 16:00 and then have to check out at 10:00, not good. The bar had very poor selection

this place was nice, I even got upgraded and sent to a nice room across the street in their sister guest house. However I was situated directly opposite the bathroom, where other guests were in and out of throughout the night and other guests were talking and I could hear them. I had a bad sleep and it was ashame as I had to drive quite far the next day. I wouldn't stay here again for this reason.
Clean and quiet. Kitchen is available with coffee but bring your own cream or milk as none was available when we were there. Overall great for a nights stay.
Nice, clean and pleasant guest house (operated by sister guest house across the street). Large common area and well-equipped kitchen. Located above the post office in the sleepy town of Egilstadir, where there's no town center or restaurants of note, it serves as an excellent stopover between the southeast and north of the country.

The hotel is rustic and simple, but very well maintained and clean. It seems to be the largest hotel in town, with a large parking lot and beautiful surroundings. It's a worthwhile place to stay, although the beds are a bit small.
It was unexpectedly hot when we checked into the hotel that day, but fortunately the hotel provided electric fans and the room was spacious. The lake view was beautiful.
Rooms in Iceland are really expensive. This is the most expensive hotel on the island. The room is okay, but there is a horse stable next to the hotel, and the smell of horse and cow dung is very strong.

One of our favorite places to stay during our 10day trip on the ring road. Kitchenette well stocked, comfy beds, able to do laundry. Highly recommend.
Due to an unexpected change in U.S. visa policies, I was unable to travel. The host has been very responsive and flexible throughout the cancellation process, which I sincerely appreciate. I would choose this hotel again if I have the opportunity to visit Iceland in the future.
Clean spacious room. Kitchenette perfect for making a small, hot meal. Just down the road from Vok Baths
I like there is a microwave in the room. Also there is laundry in building for people to share.
Adequate. Very limited check-in window of time.
Absolutely impeccable place with everything you need for a good nights stay. Hostess was wonderful. Quiet place. Washer/ Dryer was free which was a huge plus for us. Reasonable prices. Would stay there again and recommend to others.

Beautiful location! Extremely comfortable rooms! Only negative is the kitchen facilities didn’t work ideally for cooking. Stove is subpar. Would recommend to anyone and stay again though!
Well equipped large shared kitchen, comfy beds, everything was very clean.

We had a spacious bedroom with a tv and a sink. The communal showers and toilets were very clean. Overall, we didn’t spend too much time here aside from sleeping and getting back on the road the next morning. Nonetheless it was a pleasant stay and in a good location! We travelled to the Vök Baths and the Reindeer Park the next morning.
Few kilometers away from main town but reasonable price. Our room was spacious. 1 bedroom, one hall with sofa bed, dining table and kitchen area with all fascility served our purpose. We had booked 3 such apartment for our group. 2 on ground floor and 1 was on first floor with no lift. So with big bags It's little difficult. Washing machine r old type. Not working in 1 apartment..had too run dryer twice...
The hostel has all been recently renovated, both the rooms and common areas. Our room was spotless with new carpets and comfortable beds. We had a sink in the room and even a hairdryer, and the flat screen tv was a nice addition. The communal kitchen was well appointed with dishwashers and refrigerators for the guests to use. The bathrooms were a bit retro, but with new mirrors with led-lights and...
Cozy guesthouse, and they offered us the use of their rowboat on a nearby private lake!!! Nice and clean. Would recommend. The kitchen area could use some more pots and pans and utensils. Great find
really nice guesthouse, it was a school long time ago. they have extra breakfast buffet which taste delicious and a coffee machine! there is a common room with a TV, a little bar, a laundry service...
Good place for one night stand. There were shared showers and toilets what is not very convenient but our room was close to it and there weren't too many people so that was not a problem. There was also a kitchen with all utensils (but no stove) to make a snack.
