We took a group of high school students to Dalvik and stayed here. This place was awesome! The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for our day trips and the scenery was beautiful. The staff were kind and helpful and prepared great food. I would definitely stay here again!

Really great location to stay the night before the ferry ride to Grimsey Island!

The guesthouse was tricky to find, but a decent place to spend a day or two.

We stayed in a room that had a shared bathroom. Bathroom and Showers were very clean. Liked the lounge area with tables. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel with delightful staff. Easy to get to, lots of parking and cute rooms. The shining star is the wonderful breakfast. It's worth the money.....pay for it. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this hotel. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Our EF group had a marvelous three day stay here at Hotel Dalvik. The food and service was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the meals had a down home feel. We didn’t leave the table needing anymore to eat. It was great to come back from a long day of sight seeing to have a great home cooked meal.

Communication was excellent. Nice, quiet location. You have to fill the tub yourself on arrival which takes some time, but instructions were clear and easy. A great spot!

Location and style of the unit.

It is a whole unit which faces a beautiful mountain. Compact and it has what we need. It's a pity we didn't have the time to enjoy the jacuzzi. It will be great if the pillows can be more firmer.

We had a great winter stay. The views were sunning. Loved looking at the snow covered views from the hot tub. Star gazing and northern lights when it got dark. Plenty of space around the accommodation for the children to explore/ go sledging. Also conveniently located for whale watching from Dalvik

Great property just outside Dalvik. Our cottage was clean and the communication with the host was great. We really enjoyed the view of the valley from the deck and had an amazing time using the BBQ and relaxing on the hot tub. Fast Wi-Fi connection, our family had a great time here. Value for money too

We discovered this camping as an alternative to Dalvik's camping and we were really happy with the place. Its location is beautiful and close to the nature reserve. If you are lucky enough, you will meet the cat guide who will show you around.

Clean room, but also pretty expensive for what you get (more of a hostel than anything). Only two bathrooms (including shower) shared with the whole floor, made for a bit of a wait.

Clean, nice rooms overlooking the countryside. Common equipped kitchen, bathroom and living room. Everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay we found. Fast wifi in room. Outdoors, children's playground and camp for tents. Very reasonable room rates, therefore we chose the room and did not use the tent :) In addition, pleasant communication at the reception desk. The most amazing campsite I have found in Iceland. Set in the grounds of an old school the facilities are very good. Free WiFi, kitchen and washing area, clean showers and toilets. The only downside was the communal showers which brought back memories from my school days. There is a wonderful trail which begins from the campsite and takes you around across a river and into a forest. Beautiful wildlife

The small bedroom with a nice bed, a sofa, a small bathroom with only a toilet and a tiny sink, a kitchenette. So there is everything except the shower, which is in another structure, reachable in the middle of the mud in the dark. Like the whirlpool and the sauna. Sin

We had a wonderful three days in the area around Hostel Gimli in Dalvik and enjoyed the warm welcome and homely atmosphere. The fish soup is truly legendary, and it's served in a lovely tavern, well worth a visit. The hostel owner, Mr. Gunnarsson, is very helpful and quickly came to our aid when we locked ourselves out or forgot our backpacks. Thanks so much for that, and also for all the tips. See...

Visited to escape from the rain on my camping trip. Lovely host, and rooms hot water, WiFi and all facilities were ideal. I slept well in my single room and enjoyed my stay here. Well located near to shops, restaurants etc, and is close to hiking trails on the hills behind as well.

5 stars just because it's not possible to put 6 or 7. The owner Bjarni was very comprehensive with me and accepted to host me even if it was a closure day. The room was clean, welcoming and warm. Amazing hostel in a beautiful town. If you pass from this side of Iceland don't miss to spend some time in Dalvik and in the Gimli Hostel

Nice bungalows at the in northern Iceland. Functional design and clean. Good for 4 people otherwise it is very tiny. The view and outdoor hottub are perfect to relax.

A friend and I stayed here so we could attend a festival in Siglufjörður and during our stay we had to complete some remote work as well. We were welcomed by two lovely ladies at the reception who made sure that we were in need of nothing! We made good use of all the common areas and had the coffee making machine work overtime! This is a unique property. The full kitchen is available for travelers to use to cook their dinner. If we had known, we would have brought some food to cook. Guesthouse located on the hillside above small harbour. Room had great views over the sea and mountains beyond. A short walk to Eyri the excellent local restaurant. We were diving from Styran dive centre on the unique geothermal chimney close by.

Decent apartment but certainly not luxury. No soap for shower and no soap holder or any place to put the soap once we bought it from a store. Very noisy location. The worst part is that we were on the 4th floor and no one told us there is no elevator. We are senior citizens and it was difficult to lug large suitcases to our room.

The location is in a major city, so there's supermarkets nearby. The rooms are large. The kitchen is fully equipped and the common area is has bigger space than you will need. Very cozy!

One of my favorite places I slept while in Iceland. It was in a good location and the rooms were nice and comfy. The bathrooms were cute and had heated floors! Hotel is about 5mins with car from city center. It smells nice here all the time, there is a common dining room, jacuzzi and is pretty calm. Perfect if u want to have some peace. Big parking for cars.

Pretty new hotel a short drive from Akureyri city. Rooms are very spacious and clean. There's a common kitchen, and laundry room. Hotel will only start to serve breakfast from 1 June. So during our stay, there's no meal served. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

This clean and tidy, newly renovated hotel is quite empty during the summer season. Since it’s a self-service hotel, there’s no service. However, there’s a 24/7 shared dining hall equipped with some utensils, cutlery, a fridge, and a microwave. There’s also a ski locker and a laundry machine and tumble dryer (both 24/7 and self-service), which are also free. One of our favourite hotels in Iceland.

Parking is convenient and clean. The room is relatively warm and easy to check in. The hotel will inform you of the password in advance, so you don't have to worry about not being able to find the front desk and not being able to check in even if you arrive late.

This apartment was perfectly located. Right near the heart of Akureyri. We stayed in the basement which is quite compact but was cosy, warm and had everything needed for a short stay. Our double room was spacious and clean. It had a water kettle and complimenary tea in the room. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices: best buffet we had in 8 hotels in Iceland. We could park in front of the hotel (free 16:00 - 10:00). Restaurants in the city center are within walking distance. Due to the location there was traffic noise till night and in walking distance.

My boyfriend and I booked this place last minute. Price and location were both good. We were a little concerned when we saw multiple negative reviews. However, our stay was wonderful! The room was clean, some noise from other rooms were noted but nothing after around 2100. We had a direct view into the city center which was great for people watching. The room was beautiful and cozy. We ended up in a bad situation and the owners let me stay in a room after we had already checked out until the situation was over. They did their best to help even though they didn't have to. They were really kind and helpful. The location was also a big plus and they watch out for your security.

Amazing location, right at the waterfront. Hot tub area is great for northern lights spotting. And extra points for the detailed decor, and homie vibes. I also love the locations, 5 minutes away from the downtown area, but without the disruption.

This is not a hotel as you will expect! No tv in room and by the time you've put 2 suitcases on the floor and rack there is hardly room to move!! One has to climb over your partner to get into bed as there isn't space to walk around your bed!! The restaurant next door is excellent with good food.

Luxury orientation on rooms with early released to public, no tv-excuse 'speak to each other' bold but very risky excuse to not have tv in the room, not even WiFi password....no coffee, no tea..again no explanation. Defo not worth 40k to extend for 3rd night. Especially when there is upgrade suit for 30k with mountain view next door, with elevated service ready to discover. Choices to improve are there...

Really reduced space, with just a common room to leave the luggage, and no receptionist. They didn't give me the codes to get in in advance, so I had to wait once I got there. It was also difficult to get in.

My first time at a capsule anything tbh, and I couldn't have imagined a better experience. The couple running this establishment have created a unique atmosphere, such comfort, and a feeling of joy to get back to home away from home. I'm now in love with the capsule concept, kudos to Japan, and this amazing Icelandic couple. Thank you for a great stay, hope to see you in Portugal ;)

Tv remote didn’t work in room, and the power outlets in the pods barely worked as well

The pods were surprisingly comfortable. The common areas were well taken care of, and beautifully decorated. There were plenty of bathrooms - sometimes a worry at hostels. It was definitely one of the best hostels we have stayed in. It is right in the center of town, so perfect location to see Akureyri.

This is my first time staying in a Hostel. I was very impressed. Staff are helpful. The common area was big and clean. I did not like the pool table. It creates a loud noise. It is difficult to rest after a long day of hiking or traveling. IMO

I struggled with the door lock mechanism my entire stay. The staff were very helpful, but you could tell this was a constant source of frustration. The room itself was fine. The linen on the bed was super itchy. The towel was nice and thick and soft. I did not use the shower or laundry and I left before breakfast. It was conveniently located and the restaurant was good. I enjoyed the happy hour.

We had the reindeer burger - which was absolutely enormous - and the chicken breast as our dinners just before the kitchen closed at 8. Had an amazing time at Akureyri Backpackers Pub! The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and full of character — a perfect spot to meet fellow travelers. The room was rather small, and the breakfast selection was limited, but the location was excellent, making it easy to reach various parts of the town. The gym had many facilities, but it was mostly empty, so you could practically have the gym to yourself.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with the heated towel rack being particularly noteworthy. It snowed on the day we checked in, and our clothes were completely soaked—the heated towel rack was very helpful for drying smaller items. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, which suited our tastes perfectly. This hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended

This is a really reasonably priced accommodation in Akureyri. It was clean and comfortable in easy walking distance of the swimming pool and town centre. The room was spacious and kitchen was well stocked. Would recommend staying here, even if not on a budget. Great views of the mountains.

The rooms are ok, neat and clean. The problem arose with the booking due to the opening of the door and the room. They didn't send the codes on time. So check the image and notifications beforehand. Everything else is ok, they have a nice kitchen that is nicely equipped. The center is close.

Lovely modern place. Kitchen was nice but it can easily get crowded.
