Reviews
Other accommodations I had booked were empathetic and accepted my cancellation without any issue, but here I was simply told to “find a way to come anyway.” This response was very disappointing and unhelpful, especially considering that my reservation is still one month away — it’s not a last-minute cancellation.
It is already frustrating enough to lose a long-awaited vacation because of something completely out of my control, but on top of that, not being able to recover any of the money for the accommodation feels deeply unfair.
A side note: High up on my list was the Northern Lights (weather and activity permitting, or course). When we first arrived, I was really concerned about the light pollution. The village of Laugarás has a large complex of green houses that emit a crazy amount of light pollution. I'm really surprised no reviews mention this, the greenhouse is literally on the door step of this guesthouse and the light it emits can be seen for miles from the village. This disheartened me for the first day! But.. Thankfully, and luckily, whilst we were here, we witnessed amazing activity. Captured on the bridge, a few minutes away, looking away from the guesthouse and the greenhouses!
