Been traveling iceland for two weeks only in guesthouses and this was my last stop. By far this is the worst of them all. You can hear everything from the others, breakfast is „Easy“ and the Doors are closing loudly. Okay for the location but would not recommend in General.

A quite good guesthouse with kitchen for the price, the guesthouse is literally location is just next to Hallgrimskirkja Church , perfect location for the travellers to explore Reykjavik city , it’s has walkable distance to BIS bus terminal to reach airport. Had kitchen to cook own meals it was great , morning around 6:30 to 8pm u can’t use the kitchen since breakfast will be serving, neat shared bathrooms and receptionists were cool and helpful

Abysmal guest house. Booked a double bed, got two singles. Terrible smell persisted in common spaces. Unresponsive staff. Consistent state of disrepair. Felt more line a hostel.

Location was nice, but that was the only pro here. Avoid at all costs

Stayed at this guesthouse twice. Saw small stains on the bedding both times, maybe time for them to get some new sheets. The room had a bad smell when entering but was okay after airing out. Bathrooms were okay but they only have one on each floor which definitely isn’t enough at peak times. Luggage storage is not secure (just a room behind the kitchen which anyone can wonder into) poor service when I first checked in, gentleman just handed me the key and gave no further explanation. Good location. Basic but nice breakfast.

The environment is nice, close to the cathedral and the station, and the service is acceptable.

The small room is simple, but has everything you need. I was especially happy about the large desk. The breakfast was surprisingly good, given that food is quite expensive in Island (only the coffee could be better). The location is great and really close to the heart of the city, but still relatively quiet.

A nightmare to arrive at this property, we did not receive an email indicating where to collect the keys and where our room is located, the property is made up of several scattered houses, breakfast is not sufficient

I highly recommend this place. It was a bit hard to find at first. I carried my suitcase and searched for the front desk for a long time. I found it on the side of a small street, and it was half underground. It was too hard to find, but once you checked in, it was very convenient. There was breakfast. Although there was not much to eat, it was very clean. There were few varieties, but it was enough. I liked cereal and milk the most. The coffee was okay. The fresh vegetables were OK. The best thing was that the brother at the front desk was very nice. He could help me book a taxi and book a bus ticket to the airport because Uber was not available here, which was inconvenient.

The environment is very clean, close to the cathedral, the transportation is also convenient, and the bus station is within walking distance. It is also very convenient to go to various attractions, which is a very good choice.

Clean room but the hallway smells bad, also the public bathroom/shower needs a new lock. Water was so hot and they fixed it for us, thank you for this. It is broken.
Towels not provided YOU WILL HAVE TO ASK AND GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION just to have them. Both staff are really nice but towel issue and toilet door issue on 45 second floor should be fixed. It’s a decent stay. Good decent breakfast. Felt pretty full after.

During our stay we visited this location three times. The staff was phenomenal and the food was great. Awesome pizza and I'd recommend to anyone who is craving for some.

My 9 y/o daughter wanted a pizza and this place was open after 20:00 so we were fortunate.

The place was nice and warm and the ambiance was very pleasant. We ordered the cheese pizza and it was very good. At only stayed for a quick pizza but it would've been nice to go there for dinner.

Good place of you're looking for something familiar.

Their Rye bread ice-cream with cream and caramelized rhubarb syrup was amazingly delicious! Their Icelandic platters were worth trying out if you wish to sample some Icelandic specialty such as mashed fish and smoked trout.

Service was quick and cafe attendants were friendly despite the busy crowd. This cafe is definitely worth visiting ??
27.11.2017 Jessica
Food is traditional Icelandic. We had the fish stew there, and it was ok, but not the best we had in Reykjavik. Beautiful location, delicious rye bread ice cream (sounds weird, but it works!). Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.
26.11.2017 Miguel
Great atmosphere, with lovely music playing. Very amicable staff.

The food, homemade Icelandic ware, is delicious and affordable compared to a large majority of places in Iceland.

I recommend trying the Rye Bread Ice-cream.

Based on the menu and the smell that hit me at the front door, I was expecting fishy and funky. It ended up being delicious fish, meat soup, and veggies. The fermented shark was pretty weird, but worth trying. Prices not too bad for a huge plate of food.
15.11.2017 Sam
One of the best and most authentic meals of our trip! We got here 10 minutes before they opened and we're seated right away. We split one of the platters with a bit of everything. Weirdly delicious! Make sure you an adventurous eater tho!

We asked a local Icelander where the best place to try puffin and Whale was and we were not disappointed. Excellent service and beautiful food. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to have a true Icelandic experience.
18.12.2017 SkyMonster
Good service, friendly staffs, delicious food and good ambiance, what more can you ask for? Note that the shop does look small, not sure about upstairs seating though. Might need to book in advance if you have larger groups or want to be seated during peak hours.
04.12.2017 Konstantine
Great place. Was recommended by a number of locals to us and did not dissapoint.
My only mistake was trying the shark for the first time without asking how they prepare it first. Iy is fermented and has a very sharp taste and smell. Did not enjoy that dish.
As for the rest - was absolutely delicious. The smoked puffin had very unique taste and was the highlight of the dinner.
I ordered whale pepper steak, enjoyed it greatly. We also had halibut amd langoustines which were prepared immaculately!
Did not leave room for dessert :(
24.11.2017 Gwen
Outstanding restaurant! Went here for a Thanksgiving meal far from home. Did not disappoint. We had the herring appetizer which my mother and husband loved (I am not a fan of herring so I skipped). For main courses we had lamb filet, halibut with langostine and wild sea bird (Puffin) in a wine reduction. Dessert was homemade vanilla ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce. Rekya vodka and white wine. Skipped the coffee. Currently delirious. Restaurant staff was lovely and the space was quite pretty.
28.10.2017 Adam
I'd give it 5 stars but the salty cod was very salty. Very, very salty. We spent $50USD for salt and we were lucky enough to get fish with it. Although the puffin, potato soup, and horse steak was good.
