Good value for the price. We needed a room for three adults and found one at 101 Hostel for a great rate by Reykjavik standards. The room was clean, and while the bed was a bit soft, it was perfectly fine for a one-night stay. The location is excellent, with plenty of showers and toilets on the floor. The shared kitchen wasn’t as well-equipped as in some other Reykjavik hostels we’ve stayed at, but it had everything necessary to prepare a simple dinner.

It was a good experience in Iceland however there’s very less amenities which is only beds toilet in the room and even there’s no microwave in the hotel.

The bed in the room was too soft, and I woke up with a backache. Also, the customer service was too slow to respond, and the room was completely empty.

It’s a very good location with decent price. The postcards are the cheapest I can find in the city. You’ll have access to nice food place from there.

Very convenient location just opposite bus stop no.9.

As location is in City, parking is an issue and extra cost.
Shared showers were a mixture of standards. Kitchen was not regularly cleaned.

Had a nice stay as always :)
Nice, simple, clean rooms.
There is also a kitchen/dining area.
Check-in/ check-out is easy and quick. (Reception is not allways maned, but it is possible to call them 24/7)
Close to Hlemmur Bus Stops and Food Hall, a 24h market (called 10 -11) is also close by.

It was easy to find the hotel and my room. The code on the door was kept switching but eventually got inside. It’s not a luxury but you got everything you need. The kitchen has all basic stuff and even tea and coffee. It wasn’t busy and I felt safe there. I’m happy with my stay. A little walk down from the hotel and you reach this beautiful view which is gorgeous.

Simple guesthouse. You have to like that kind of thing.
Check-in is done via codes, with no staff at all. The kitchen is basic and sterile. In the shower, the door was broken and there were still clothes hanging inside. You have to blow-dry your hair in the kitchen! Toilets were okay. There was a sink in the room. The beds were saggy and the sheets had holes in them—I didn’t want to look any closer. I’m also not a fan of carpeted floors in the room.

The first room faced the street and was already noisy, and the second room wasn't any better, as it faced the party strip. But I had a party of my own all night anyway, as my two Eastern European neighbors had a loud argument and locked each other out. This escalated into banging on doors and walls. Since I was traveling alone, I didn’t feel safe complaining.

The last night was accidentally booked, and I immediately asked the host to cancel it out of goodwill, explaining the situation. Unfortunately, no chance!

So I had to stick it out that night and drive 40 minutes to the airport at 3 a.m.

I’m a backpacker and used to roughing it, but for a relaxed night, there are definitely
better options.

I had 2 pizzas in this town. First one was in "No name pizza" place, and that one was outstanding. In this pizzeria it was just normal, good pizza. So it is safe to visit. But... It is just normal...

Delicious wood fired pizza (you can see the pizza oven in the kitchen). Medium pizza was plenty for 1 person and reasonably priced compared to internationally well known pizza chains. Free fizzy drink refills. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only in Reykjavik for 4 nights, but having tried a few other restaurants here, we've decided to return to Eldsmidjan for our final night evening meal.

Best pizza we've had! Staff friendly, fast service and great tasting pizza, highly reccomend. Well worth it and get more than your moneys worth

This pizza spot is right on the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavik. Nice beer selection and laid back atmosphere. My only negative comment here is the sauce. Very basic with very little flavor. Crust was excellent.
21.06.2017 Richard
Summary based on one dinner:
-very good pizza, easily comparable to just about any expectation
-service upstairs friendly, but can be a bit slow when busy, which is understandable. We didn't have to wait for seating.
-medium sized is good for dinner, perhaps small. We mistakenly got a large & a medium after ordering two mediums and had enough for another dinner the next night. Take away box provided and we weren't charged extra for the large.
-typical prices for this area
-credit cards accepted
-didn't ask about wifi
-parking wasn't an issue since we walked

Excellent lobster soup, tasty porterhouse steak cooked to perfection. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Ambient could benefit from some improvements.

Food was good, service was good, prices were as expected. Food prices in Iceland are very high compared to other countries, especially for beef. This premium steakhouse is no exception.

The service was pretty good compared to other restaurants I visited in Iceland.

Nothing about my experience was bad, but this isn't a *MUST GO* restaurant for tourists in Iceland.

Great pizza. ?
28.10.2017 Rebecca
Told there was a 30 minute wait for food, we were there for an hour and a half because they 'gave our pizza to someone else'. They didnt have a record of our order when it came to getting a refund. Total waste of time. If you're dead set on pizza go somewhere else.
27.10.2017 David
They somehow lost my pizza, probably gave it away accidentally. Over 1 hour waiting. Also quite expensive. Avoid.

Amazing pizza. The crust is thinned to the perfect size. The menu is completely in Icelandic, so it was hard to figure out, but very good either way

Very quiet and nice place. The pizza was really good
