Clean and very comfortable . A good vibe, friendly owner
Cosy and welcoming ambiance, excellent kitchen and bathroom although not en-suite. Outstanding views
Plenty of space for a family of four in room five. The house had a cozy interior with a fully appointed kitchen, better than the first impression of being simply a corrugated metal house.
2nd time staying here. Great location on the peninsula and great people run it.
Plenty of space in our room, and the private bathroom looked a little scrappy but worked out much better than expected.
Very lovely place, has shared bathroom, shower, living room and kitchen. The hosts are really nice and was there to help when it was needed.

Nice guesthouse,, very clean. Rooms, bed, kitchen, bathrooms. Friendly staff.
Overall very clean and kind staff. Also everything in Olafsvik is reachable by foot from here. Two stars are missing because in booking it is not presented that much as a Hostel. Yes it is a Hostel too. And the value for money is a bit high. Had at the end a double bed Hostel room for 130€ one night. (no breakfast, no own bathroom, a kitchen for everyone,...)
Very cosy place! I was struggling with finding an open place for sleeping during this coronavirus time, there was a cell number on the door that I called and the lady came in few minutes. She was very nice and she explained how everything worked. The place was tidy and very comfortable, with clean kitchen and armchairs for relaxing. I was there just with another couple, so it was also quiet and good...
It was a beautiful guesthouse in Olafsvik. We decided to stay here before exploring Snaefellsnes peninsula. The rooms were pretty spacious and clean. The hosts were friendly and the kitchen was well stocked. It was at a walking distance from the beach and had stunning beach views from the property. Recommend staying here if you are on a budget.
The price to spend one night, with breakfast, was cheap. However we were here during lower season. Check in was easy, and it was quite easy to find the place. The guesthouse was quite modern. The shared toilets and showers was nice and very clean. Shared kitchen area was well equipped with most things. However, as a Swedish person, I wanted to use white sugar to my coffee, which they had none. Rooms...
This was one of the most beautiful guesthouse I've even been. Lovely kitchen area, fully equipped, as well as the living room. Also, confortable rooms and good showers. The staff were very helpful.

Such a nice place, and very cheap. We had a functional but large 8 people dorm for my family of 8, the common areas are so beautiful that you just want to stay and hang out. Washing machines available.
[one of the best campsites I tried in Iceland. great common lounge area with board games, books, live music and bar. kitchen is very well equipped and quite comfortable. showers and wc clean and tidy. highly recommend staying.]
You should go to this hostel! Very friendly owner and service, everthing was super clean yet artsy and cozy. The only reason I am giving 4/5 stars for the room is because the upper beds were very squeaky and I woke up during the night several times and the person was moving. But all in all worth it.
One of the best campsites we visited in our tour around Iceland. There's a communal area with table games, a bar, a well fitted kitchen, two clean showers and toilets... 1500 isk per night and person with a campervan. We arrived quite late (almost midnight) but we could still check in and they were really nice to us.
Amazing surrealistic place in the middle of nowhere! The cultural spirit and creativity are exploding in this place in magical Snafellsnes. Warmly welcoming, home-like feeling and down to earth approach / just brilliant!
This is a very cozy and friendly place for multicultural events; Dóra is a very good manager there. Thank you for this place!

We stayed for one night and liked the place. Kitchen was well furnished and the location and the space is fantastic and has a lot of character. The drawbacks are what other reviews point out, everything is made of wood, so it's noisy when people move around, and rooms do not get totally dark, but for the price, this is totally recommended.
Lovely place, historic building, cosy woody interiors, good mattress, no closet in the single room, just a cupboard but it's more than enough. I found the window open which I thought was great covid-wise and the heating was functioning. Remember to take off your shoes at the entrance and if you don't find the wi-fi password like me, it's downstairs straight ahead from the entrance next to the router...
This id a beautiful house with five rooms. While it can be the perfect accommodation, there are a few caveats: The walls are paper thin and there isn’t a way to really make your room completely dark, so it’s not ideal to actually catch a full night‘s sleep. We wanted to sleep quite early but were woken up by late arrivals. They weren’t exactly quiet, but even if they had tried, it would have been hard...
As soon as we walked in the door we knew we'd found something special. The fish soup & toasted tomato, feta & olive panini were the best we've had - ever.
Amazing fish soup and carrot cake in an unpretentious spot in the small seaside town of Rif.

Extremely quiet place. Almost nobody was there during our recent stay last week. We found it very clean. We had some plumbing issues with a floor drain and got prompt attention to fix it. Very small village and not much to do but it was convenient for our itinerary.
We booked here in the middle of winter (between christmas and new years) and apparently the hostel is actually closed during those periods. However, they went out of their way to open up for us and even had someone come through in the evenings to serve us from the bar :) had a wonderful stop over stay. thanks for everything.
Not as good as other guest houses we've experienced: breakfast is lean with no eggs, small variety of breads and jams; bed is not done if u stay more than one night; our shower curtains were short, so water poured into bathroom...as a group we had 4 rooms, and had this problem in 3 of the 4 rooms; though high tech access thru codes, saw no people till breakfast....very impersonal and cold setup.
Very convenient for easy check in, big lunch room for tea, coffee and computer work. Hair dryer in the room. Breakfast included. Everything works out perfectly for my two nights there
Rooms are clean. Clean towel and an hair-drier are provided! Good continental breakfast. The automatic system for check in and check out it's very simple and quick.

A great hotel to see the Northern Lights in West Iceland. Each container room has one side entirely made of glass, so you can observe the Northern Lights from your room. Maybe because the location is a bit remote, but the cost-effectiveness is really good.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay! Superb views and amazing spot to watch the local tern colony. I just loved these cottages.
Campground with a spectacular view almost 360 degrees around. Toilets are really nice and clean. 4 showers (not free) and a small restaurant nearby. A bit expensive but the food (fish & chips and pizzas) were quite good. The cottages themselves are very cute, cozy, and intimate. Our cottage was on the end and had a beautiful view of the water, although most of the others would simply be looking at the sides of other cottages. Cottage is very basic and rustic. Some cottages have parking in front, others do not. The bed was fine but the pillows were paper thin with one per person. Bathroom was clean but needed some tending to. Pictures look great online vs in person. If you’re looking for a decent location that is a bit budget friendly, the cottages are fine. Just expect a rustic look experience.
Cabin was warm, cozy and spotlessly clean upon arrival. Good restaurant on site. Great fish and chips from food truck just down the road. Beautiful walking trails close by as well.
Cottages were comfy and it was nice that the weather was good enough to sit outside on the patio. It would be easier if it was possible to park the car at the cottage though. Depending on where your cottage lies the way from the car park with a heavy suitcase can become quite long... Especially when it rains. Diner at the Arnarstapi center was rather underwhelming. Breakfast was better but it is not...
Ive stayed in better It was fine, bed was comfortable but the room was very bare bones, only one pillow, hot water only lasted 3-5min, felt like a $75 cabin you would rent in an american state park but they charged you $300 + a night. Small hotel, chain hotel, near scenic spots
Amazing location surrounded by nature. Delicious breakfast. We enjoyed staying in the Superior room, spacious and comfortable for our family of 4.
There are not many hotels in Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This one is a good distance from attractions such as Straw Hat Mountain. The breakfast is also very delicious. The only drawback is that the steak and lamb chops for dinner are a bit too dry.
Been on a 11 day trip in iceland and almost stayed at a different place every night, this was the worst stay. Long list of issues, found hair in Pasta (although they replaced when reported), rooms too clumsy, water too slow in washroom, etc etc. Long story short.. Wouldn't recommend

Beautiful location — the room accommodations were excellent... and we saw the Northern Lights!
While we were excited to be in Iceland to take in the landscape and sights, Hotel Budir was a whole experience in itself. One toilet/shower for 5 rooms - which may house a total of 10 people if filled to capacity. Also toilet paper ran out during our stay. Not the place to have unexpected tummy problems. Everything else is very good.
The guesthouse was very well located. Close to shops; and perfect starting point for visiting the national park. Kitchen was well equipped, big bedroom with good bed. One bathroom (with toilet inside) was not that much for 5 rooms. It could work, as long as people don’t take long elaborate showers. Maybe the owner can include that in her instructions. The host was nice.
Super relaxing and comfortable. Host was very accommodating about our later arrival and early departure!
Great place to stay! Frieda (the owner) was great! Clean, big kitchen, good location and comfortable room. 10/10
Except for 1 toilet for 4 rooms everything else was above all expectations. If you search for a convenient place that has a good value for its money, don't think twice. Go here! The host is a freindly but little cynical lady, but since I am also a cynic myself we immediately found a lot of things to talk about. If I ever return to Snaefelsness I will also return here.
Lovely home. It was our stop after the Westfjords. The owner was kind and helpful. Kitchen is fully equipped. That was a big plus since we were doing a road trip and needed a place to cook. They didn’t respect the two beds and send us to instead just one. Also with a late checkin it was very complicated since we needed to ask someone to let us in to the hotel. Breakfast was ok. Tiny rooms.
Stayed for 2 nights. Great newly-renovated clean room (203), nice view, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Free coffee, hot pot. For Iceland a wonderful hotel for this money. Thank you for making our stay so great.
Well, the rooms are really nice and cozy, the staff is really kind, I have to admit that the views are not very good(it is next to the harbour) but the location is just fine to reach anything in such a little town. The worst is breakfast, too simple and poor for the price you have to pay, they shoul improve it!
The hotel was nice, clean and tidy. Our room had a good shower, a very comfy bed and breakfast was provided. The owner was a nice guy and the hotel had tea and coffee downstairs so you could just help yourself. Our group was struck by strong winds and we were not able to move forward in our return back at our hotel. This one offered us a very warm hospitality, with hot tea, water, cake and they also cooked for us soup. We had the chance to rest, charge our phones and wait for the storm to slow down. Many thanks to our local guide Birgir Baldursson.
As we were returning to Reykjavík, the weather got much worse, with strong winds and a heavy snowstorm, making it impossible not to stop somewhere. There were 40 of us, and they hosted all of us for a few hours until the weather calmed down. They prepared delicious fish and tomato soups for us. Truly wonderful people very kind and incredibly hospitable. Big thank you also to Birgir for organising this

Everyone from the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner on our second evening. The selection and quality of fresh seafood and fish was amazing and very delicious. Definitely worth the money. They had a little play area for kids in the lobby which kept our son quite happy and busy.
