It feels More Like a Tired 3-Star
Rating: 2/5
Claimed as a 5-star property, but age and poor management drag it down. Better alternatives abound nearby for just 10% to 25% extra cost.
Arrival & Infrastructure (Major Inconvenience)
No dedicated lift from the car park to the lobby so you’re forced to walk the exact same path as vehicles which is outdoor. In dry weather it’s annoyingly hot; in the rain (common in Bali), it’s downright hazardous and soaked clothes guaranteed. This basic oversight screams lazy planning and zero guest empathy.
They allow one of car to park in front of the lobby, seems some local big shot so the staff dont dare to tell him to park in the parking lot. It hinder my manouver to get my ca to car park.
Room Condition (Renovated, But Half-Hearted)
• Signs of age everywhere: Ancient non-smart TV, mattress so soft and sunken it ruins sleep.
• Bathtub fiasco: Newly installed, but the shower curtain sits a mere 1 cm from the edge—water splashes everywhere.
• Toilet half malfunction: Flush button often fails to reset, causing water to run non-stop (wasted resources + noise). You have to properly press in the center and make sure it bounce back.
• Terrace door nightmare: Single curtain covers the glass sliding door. Instinct says swing curtain right-to-left and slide the door, wrong. A hidden center lock requires pushing the door leftward from the middle. Confusing, frustrating, and not intuitive at all.
Renovations feel superficial; details were clearly ignored.
Breakfast is adequate, but Forgettable.
Buffet offers decent variety (i assume all halal, which i am not expected), but nothing standout. Very basic selections, no wow factor, no creativity. Restaurant is functional at best.
Check-In Process (Rigid Management Hurts Service)
Staff seemed inexperienced: a newbie handled my registration under constant side-eye supervision from a senior. Policy demands ID from every occupant, but I was still parking when they processed the lead booker. Result? Staff interrupted me, knocked on my room for the second ID card.
This is the only hotel in Bali I’ve encountered with such inflexible rules. Management prioritizes bureaucracy over training or common sense, let minor slips go while new staff learn. It reflects poor leadership and zero service mindset.
Final Verdict
The Bali Nusa Dua Hotel trades on its 5-star label and location, but operational laziness and outdated bones make it underwhelming. For just 10-25% extra cost, nearby competitors deliver modern rooms, seamless logistics, and genuine hospitality.
Skip this one, plenty of superior options in Nusa Dua without the headaches.
The swimming pool looks very dirty that my kids cannot play.
Breakfast has nothing to eat.
