Hotel Steinrösl in San Cassiano

Incredible HOSPITALITY. The family all made us feel at home. The location is a 5 minute walk to the Piz Sorega gondola and close to any shops or stores you might want to visit. If you go half board like we did you will never need to leave the property except to go skiing as breakfast and dinner will be included. Breakfast was an amazing buffet with many options hot and cold and we especially loved the fresh squeezed orange juice machine and cold press juice DIY machine. I never knew fresh fennel could taste so good. What a great healthy way to start the day. We had the same table in the dining room for our whole week and every dinner was amazing with entree options to choose from. I took pictures of some of the daily menus so you could see the incredible diversity of the meals mostly celebrating Ladin cuisine. Fabio has also curated a fantastic range of wines and knows how to pair them with their meals, your tastes and budget. When we would get home from a day of skiing we would head up to the third floor where they had a wellness room with a steam bath, sauna and these cool loungers and water beds. The bar area was lovely for before or after dinner drinks. The whole place including the rooms were very clean and well appointed. We LOVED the Steinrosl, staff and San Cassiano as a quieter place and look forward to going back.

I had one of the best experiences from start to finish across 2 early-September nights in this warm, family-run establishment. The dinner (and breakfast and packed lunch!) were excellent, well-worth the price I paid. The room was modern, clean and well-equipped. I slept like a baby. And they have such an excellent selection of wine. But my goodness, it is the warmth of the staff working here that truly makes you go “now this is a special hotel.” I will recommend this place to everyone I know who wants to tour the Dolomites. Our high expectations were fulfilled at this beautiful family run boutique hotel. It was hard to get a reservation due to repeat guests, which speaks for itself. Everything you could want in a holiday destination was here: wine bar, Vinoteca, passion about the food and service, a well thought out bedroom and great location. We stayed for five days in this hotel in the center of San Cassiano. After a few hours from our arrival we felt at home. Friendliness reigns supreme in this structure cared for in every detail. Food prepared with care, enhanced by raw materials of excellent selection. "You must try the soups, you will be enchanted". Excellent location but most of all the food. Kind family who run the hotel and it’s spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed our stay walking in the dolomites. Everyone friendly and helpful. A great base for hiking and biking. Limited restaurants in the village but didn’t matter as dinner is exceptional.

Lovely family -run hotel. Very comfortable rooms, friendly staff, wine bar onsite, and amazing breakfasts. Top floor has a steam room and sauna which is very nice after a day of hiking. Definitely recommend. San Cassiano is a beautiful, but very small town in Val Gardena. So if you are looking for coffee, restaurants and bars within walking distance, this may not be the town for you.
