UNAHOTELS Club Hotel Ancora in Stintino

Last week, we stayed at Hotel Ancora, where we were greeted by a helpful receptionist who personally showed us to our room. The room was very comfortable and spacious for a family of four, including two teenagers. It came with a master bedroom and three single beds, all of which were extremely comfortable. The hotel provided all the necessities needed during our stay, including a fridge and a hairdryer. Every day we returned to a high-quality, thoroughly cleaned room, with the housekeeping staff being exceptional throughout our stay.

We stayed on a half-board basis (breakfast and dinner included). At breakfast there was a wide range of food consisting of continental options such as cereals, pastries and fresh fruit, alongside cooked options including eggs and bacon. There was also a variety of coffees and fruit juices available.

In the evening, starters were served buffet-style, with options including salads, ham, fish and freshly baked bread. The main meals were very cultural and authentic. Each night there were two to three different homemade pasta dishes to choose from as a first course, all of which tasted fresh and were clearly prepared with care. The second course consisted of a different choice every night of meat, fish, vegetables and potatoes each evening, providing plenty of variety throughout the week.

The waiters were helpful and the majority spoke a basic level of English. In particular, Enrique was incredibly helpful and worked extremely hard to ensure guests were satisfied. Despite their efforts, the staff often appeared to be under significant pressure and stress during busy periods, which sometimes created a slightly tense atmosphere in the restaurant. However, this did not take away from the quality of the food or the service provided.

The desserts also offered excellent variety each evening. My personal favourites were the rich chocolate cake and the tiramisu, both of which were outstanding and a perfect way to finish each meal.

Although drinks were not included with the half-board package and had to be paid for separately, they were excellent quality and reasonably priced. The evening bar service was particularly enjoyable thanks to the friendly and hardworking bar waitress, who was always welcoming, helpful and attentive. She was happy to recommend drinks and ensured that guests were served quickly even during busy periods, which greatly enhanced our evenings at the hotel.

The swimming pool was located around a five-minute walk from the hotel, which was not an issue at all and actually gave us the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The pool area itself was stunning, situated right next to the beach and offering fantastic views. It was a peaceful and relaxing place to spend the day.

One minor issue was that we were initially informed by the receptionist that swimming caps were compulsory in the pool. However, when we arrived, we discovered this was not the case. Although this caused some confusion, it was only a small inconvenience and did not affect our enjoyment of the facilities.

We were also disappointed that only two sunbeds were included for the four members of our group, meaning we would have had to pay extra if we wanted additional beds. We feel that sufficient sunbeds should be included in the overall holiday price rather than requiring an extra charge. However, we understand that the pool facilities were operated by a separate company and that this was not the responsibility of the hotel itself.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ancora. The comfortable accommodation, excellent food, hardworking staff, wonderful bar service and beautiful pool and beach location made for a memorable holiday, and I would happily recommend the hotel to others.

The room was excellent

The service was excellent, but the beach and the swimming pool do not belong to the hotel and are quite far away on foot. Additionally, the family room located in the basement is dark and had a smell of damp and mold.
The breakfast and evening buffet were nice.

We have stayed at the UNA Club Hotel Ancora in Stintino Italy for the past three years. It is a fabulous hotel with beautiful surroundings. The staff are amazing and the food delicious. We will be back for a fourth visit and I highly recommend it. Evelyn and John

We visited this beautiful hotel by beginning of June 2025.

Reception Staff: Very friendly and helpful personnel (special thanks to Eva, very professional and kind person).
Restaurant: High quality and delicious food. Professional and polite staff. Appreciate all the efforts to administrator and all the waiters who did all the best to make our stay most comfortable.
Swimming Pool: a bit far, but clean and not crowded. You need to have a swimming cap, but don’t worry you can buy it there (not expensive).
Rooms: Super clean and comfortable. Additional toilet in the superior family room would be great.
Location: 2 km from La Pelosa, but there is a free shuttle bus.

From the moment we arrived, the friendliness, availability and professionalism of all the staff was extraordinary. It was a fantastic experience. The food is always well prepared and varied. Good breakfast and the rooms were very good and always clean. Good quality of sleep. The only bad thing is having to pay for sun loungers at the pool.
