Reviews
The rooms can be "oldschool alpine style" or modern, but either way they are very comfortable.
They offer quick shuttle to the main ski area or quick buses with the station in front of the hotel. I highly recommend this place for a full ski holiday (good skiing, good sleep, great food, relaxing spa).
* Shocking service quality: waiter swearing at our table, dropping glasses, forgetting drinks, not saluting. Overall the worst service experience I ever had anywhere.
* They seem to be in full cost cutting mode: they charge for parking despite advertising free parking on booking.com, water and room temperature in the spa at the minimum acceptable levels, slow service
* Food quality is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel. Sure there's a lot of diversity, but the taste is very bland. I didn't know you could mess up pasta with cheese in some many ways.
Pros:
* The rooms are nice and spacious
* The spa offers lots of nice sauna and pool options
* The drinks were nice and the bartender was one of the only 2 people to offer good service
* They offer a good transport service to the ski sloopes
If they would just fix the horrible overall service (table & reception) and the food quality, the experience would be significantly better.
Did not feel welcomed at all.
Great people, delicious meals, and the perfect base for mountain adventures – highly recommend! And I will be back in September!
We were really excited when we first arrived at the hotel. The initial impressions were great—the place is very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the spa experience was enjoyable overall. Most of the staff came off as friendly, and we were looking forward to a relaxing stay.
However, there were several issues that impacted our experience. Right upon arrival, we discovered the shower in our room was broken.
We reported it to the front desk, the maintenance guy, and even the cleaning staff who acknowledged it and said it had already been passed on.
We were told it would be fixed and that they were going to get a part, but unfortunately, it was never addressed during our stay. Not a big deal. We made it work.
At checkout, things took a frustrating turn when we were suddenly told we owed 58 euros for the broken shower—implying we had caused the damage.
It was very upsetting, especially after multiple staff members had acknowledged it beforehand.
We felt like we were being blamed unfairly, and it left a bad taste at the end of our stay.
Also worth noting:
• The spa staff, while polite, came off as overly watchful. One attendant blamed my friend for leaving the sauna door open, even though there were other guests using the facility, and it wasn’t clear who had done it. It felt like we were being monitored constantly over small things like plastic cups.
• The hotel shuts down surprisingly early—around 9:30 or 10 PM. We weren’t even able to have dinner there because we were told a reservation had to be made the night before, but the dining hall was completely empty anyway.
• The hallways were dimly lit to the point that we had to use our phone flashlights just to get to our room. It was a little scary but we made it work.
• Finally, although Google lists free parking, we were still charged for it, and the staff insisted on the fee. When I pulled up the Google they still said we had to pay.
It’s a shame because the property itself is lovely and could offer a great stay if the service issues were addressed and communication was better.
Hopefully, they take this feedback to heart and make improvements.
Good food, lots of fun, great friendly staff and other guests - we rarely make it out of the hotel after a days skiing which is testament to everything it has to offer - and the setting is unbelievable! We couldn’t recommend it enough. . .
Water in pools was cold, dinners and breakfasts are usual.
The food is great and buffet plentiful at every meal (we particularly noticed the desserts for their range!) - we were placed in the modern annexe dining room which is stylish but stark (mellower lightbulbs might help?). If you want Alpine atmosphere, request the older dining room - more cosy!
The Wellness Centre is fab. Especially to give the kids an activity after the ski slopes (and for the oldies to unwind). It took me a bit to count all six pools as I got to five easily. Kids, lengths, outdoor, jacuzzi, hot indoor bubbles… then I clicked that they count the pebble walk as sixth. It simulates walking on a river bed in warm and cold sprinkling flow - actually ideal to get the circulation going in my skiboot-bound toes!
Apart from the mirror on the ceiling of my four-poster bed in the Honeymoon suite, there were other highlights!
The in-house ski guide Michele made our ski trip. He took us out twice and we should’ve gone more. He has a local knowledge of the mountains. He’s a qualified instructor so gave us a few tips. He knew the best mountain lunch spots. He took us around SellaRonda with smiles and laughs the whole way - I found it very tricky to follow the signs and paths on my own but he added extra loops on that big day so we skied nearly 40km of slopes!
Diamant is out of the villages but the shuttle took us to/fro the slopes. The local ski bus was also a very easy connector and appears on Googlemaps with the bus approaching times (my kids would eye-roll that I’m even explaining this but I hope this reassures you if you pick here)
I asked Kylie who the competition is in the valley. There are many and various but Diamant doesn’t want to go 5* because it might make the whole place more intense. For people with helicopters and stuff. However, she says with a smile, that the 5* places still have to use Diamant - because they have a helipad!
Ask Michele about the heli trip. It sounds amazing! They pick you up from the hotel and your your around the peaks before dropping you 30km from the hotel to ski back. You actually go off the map of the biggest ski area somewhere near Cortina and work your way home. At one point, the lift is a drag where the group gets pulled by horses to connect into the Dolomiti Superski. I’m dreaming of my return just so I can book that trip!
