Cala Chiara B&B in Ortona

The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. I don't find the breakfast, which is available in any hotel, acceptable, as only by paying a premium would I have enjoyed a hearty breakfast featuring local products. However, by not paying the premium, the breakfast offered, labeled "snack," was of poor quality. Even if this had been communicated in advance, I think it would have been a given to provide at least some croissants for breakfast instead of two single-serving toasts with Nutella and jam.
We were also not informed that the room overlooked a busy road (SS Adriatica) and the railway tracks, a circumstance that made any attempt to sleep impossible, as even though the windows were double-glazed, the noise was constant and deafening. Both air conditioners worked, but the room had a bad smell as soon as they were turned on, due to something we don't know.
At 9:00 AM, after a sleepless night, we were startled by the shouting of Annachiara and her mother. They certainly didn't realize the loud voices, but in a facility where guests are staying, it doesn't seem appropriate to make too much noise.
That same morning, we reported our concerns to the owner, and rather than listen properly, she immediately became defensive, saying it was the first time anyone had told her they were upset by the noise from the SS Adriatica and the breakfast. She didn't respond well to our clarifications, and when she suggested we move rooms, we initially agreed, very hesitantly. But when we saw her moving our pillows and even the sheets into the room that had recently been vacated by a couple, even before it had been cleaned and sanitized, we decided to leave.
All this caused us stress, inconvenience, and a waste of time and money at the facility we had paid for across the street, which was also quite inconvenient to get to.
A morning wasted looking for a new hotel available on August 13th.
The photos posted are quite misleading, both because they don't show the two hotels facing each other, and because of the breakfast, as mentioned above.
Terrible value for money. Too expensive for the dilapidated exterior and the services offered.
