B&B Nuovo Reale - Centro Storico in Lecce

Cheap accommodation very close to the town's historic centre. The staff was very kind and it would make good value for money if the rooms weren't smelling of mould so badly. Unfortunately the smell was insufferable. Luckily we had booked only for one night..

There is absolutely no way I could possibly recommend this establishment with a clear conscience. We spent 4 nights here in July and they were nothing but awful: the rooms are located on the ground floor inside the court yard, where all bins are kept and which is also used as a storage space by residents (including a cross-country motorbike, which the owner takes out on a daily basis in the early morning). Noise starts at around 6am and goes on all morning. The rooms itself are terribly humid, you could cultivate mushrooms in there. The beds are old and the bedding is of very poor quality (my boyfriend ended up with a stiff neck, because his pillow was stone hard). It says that there is breakfast included, but they only give you a €2 voucher, which will get you an espresso and a sickly sweet, jam laden croissant at their local coffee bar. How this place could receive any positive feedback is beyond me.
