Hotel Isola Lo Scoglio in Porto Cesareo

Feels like this hotel is well past its best. A/c didn't remotely cool the room, shower was blocked and flooded the whole bathroom, mosquito nets ripped off the frame. The window of our room looked out on a public shower area and privacy was very compromised unless we closed the blinds. Description said guests have free access to the beach but the manager said it was 50 euros a day, for sunbeds and parasols. No WiFi in rooms - only common areas. Manager unwilling to offer alternative room unless we paid a 30 euro "upgrade" cost ( even though they had some which they were still selling on booking.com) until we really kicked up a fuss on day two, when they put us in a room where a/c worked. We were given telephone numbers of his supervisors who answered the phone but all claimed not to speak English (the manager in the hotel said they did speak English). It's a shame because it's a good location but it all felt tired, unloved and probably the attitude of the manager was as a result of having to deal with complaints too often and being fed up

Literally the worst experience in a hotel ever. I stayed at this place for two nights and the last night I got stolen (2000€) by the cleaning lady, the hotel didn’t help us at all and it looked like they were all banded together as they wouldn’t stop lying. For example: I went the day after back to the hotel to talk to the manager asking to get the name of the lady and they told me that they couldn’t and that she had the day off on that day. I called the police and when they came, the cleaning lady was there, dressed up with her uniform, etc. I know it’s this lady because on my last night, she entered my room at 8a.m without knocking on the door, she woke me up and then left, after having breakfast, while I was closing my suitcase, she came back again to my room, and for last, while I was doing the check-out, she was there again. She knew everything I was doing. I really hope no one will choose “Isola Le Scoglio” in the future because it is not worth it at all.

Place is nice, room small but nice and also clean. BUT: room faces a smaller island with thundering music that starts at 3:30pm. Management totally unhelpful, except to offer an alternate room starting 2nd night, for 73% increase in price.

The noise makes all other qualities go to zero.
