Thank you Giuseppe ! We stayed in a cave with more than ample supply of snacks. Our breakfast and refreshments were all included. We were taken to our room and he helped carry my heavy pull along up the steep stairs. Answered all our enquiries immediately. Accommodated for change of mind with transportation times and made our stay enjoyable. We recommend if you travel by car use the ten euro transfer service from parking lot as with luggage it's much easier. A must see - Matera site is beautiful both in the daytime and evening. You can cover the sites in a day.

Great location, right in the centre of the town. They give you something for breakfast that you can have in your room. There is a kettle and a coffee machine but a toaster is needed. We did not have it in our apartment.

We had a lovely day at the San Giorgio Hotel. We had the pleasure to meet Alessandra and her father. They were wonderful and arranged reservations for dinner for us and provided us with great directions to get around.

Amazing experience
The staff at San Giorgio were amazing, polite and very helpful. Pierre Luigi in particular was exceptionally helpful and accommodating, also Guisy and Benny. Matera is a unique place to visit, San Giorgio made this a very special visit. Thank you Phil and Tess

Well worth a visit
Not a full hotel. Almost self catering but lovely fully refreshed fridge and breakfast every day. We had a lovely private terrace.
The apartment is beautifully situated for easy access to Sassi and also new Matera

This property was amazing! We had a large room that was very comfortable with a fabulous bath. Check in was easy and every staff member encountered was kind and knowledgeable. The snacks provided in the room were a welcomed convenience. The location was excellent and we had so much fun exploring Matera every day. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Wonderful Matera
The front desk was wonderful, the apartment was spacious, there were all sorts of snacks stocked up for us to eat, its in a wonderful location.

We loved our 3-night stay at Hotel San Georgio! Great location in a quiet safe area and very helpful kind reception. Absolutely LOVED the food provided in the room. Local meat, cheese, fresh fruit, bread, gluten free products (if requested), fruit juice, water, yogurt. As someone who had a hard time eating out at times, I soooo appreciated having that available. Bed is really comfy and the best sleep we got in our entire Italy vacation. Would definitely stay again in the future.
