“It’s not common to see reviews from former employees on here, but I wanted to share my experience anyway.” Former Receptionist/Concierge at Le Sirenuse Hotel, Positano – A Deeply Disappointing Experience Behind the Glamour. Disappointed & Disrespected. I was hired by Le Sirenuse in Positano, Italy, with a 14-day probationary period as a Receptionist/Concierge for the 2025 summer season, with staff accommodation promised through October 31. With several years of experience in five-star hospitality in Beverly Hills, I was genuinely excited to contribute my skills to such an iconic luxury property. Sadly, the experience turned out to be one of the most disappointing and unprofessional of my career. Before my arrival, I was asked to delay my start date by nearly two weeks. When I finally arrived, I was shocked to find my accommodation still under construction—dusty, noisy, and constantly filled with workers. As I was assigned to overnight shifts, resting during the day became nearly impossible. I reached out to my direct manager, Giovanni Ciccone, who acknowledged my message but never followed up with a solution or response. To make matters worse, there was no uniform ready for me upon arrival. I was told nothing had been arranged, so I purchased a professional suit at my own expense—never reimbursed. For a hotel that prides itself on impeccable standards, this was an unexpected and disappointing oversight. Operationally, the hotel is outdated and mismanaged. Despite modern equipment, the reception still relies on cumbersome manual paperwork. The back office is understaffed and overburdened, with team members juggling everything from PBX to manual housekeeping logs, serving welcome drinks, and check-ins. It felt chaotic and disorganized, lacking leadership or clear structure. I gave more than what was asked of me. I returned on my days off to help guests who specifically requested me. I adapted quickly, remained composed under pressure, and constantly received guest compliments. Yet none of this was acknowledged. I can't help but suspect there were other internal reasons behind the decision—none of which were communicated. The lack of transparency only deepened the disappointment. Still, I showed up every night, exhausted but determined. I received repeated praise from guests for my professionalism, warmth, and efficiency. Several even expressed surprise that I was only on a trial period. Their appreciation was the only recognition I received during my time there. On the 14th day of my probationary period, after finishing a night shift at 7:00 AM, I was asked to wait for a meeting with management and HR. I waited nearly two hours—tired and still in uniform—only to be brought into a room with several managers. Not one of them looked me in the eye. Without any feedback, explanation, or even a basic thank-you, I was told I had not passed the probationary period. That was it. No closure, no discussion—just silence. It was cold, impersonal, and f

Everything was wonderful. 10/10. The location is perfect. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. The bed was comfortable. My husband and I didn’t have any complaints.

We were so excited to stay at Le Sirenuse because of its incredible reputation, but sadly, our experience was extremely disappointing. The service was fantastic — the staff were warm, attentive, and truly went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the condition of our room completely ruined our stay. The room was very damp and had a strong, unpleasant mildew smell. It wasn’t just uncomfortable — it was honestly gross. For a hotel of this caliber, this is unacceptable. And it wasn’t even about the price — at any price point, this level of room quality would have been disappointing. We tried to make the best of it, but it became so uncomfortable that we ultimately left a full day early, which says a lot considering how much we were looking forward to our stay. Positano is stunning, and Le Sirenuse has an incredible reputation, but the state of our room was nowhere near the standard we expected. Until the dampness, mildew, and maintenance issues are addressed, I would strongly recommend being cautious when booking here. The location and staff are wonderful, but the overall experience fell far short of what this hotel promises.

Location of this hotel is in the center of all the shops and restaurants and also quick walk to the beach. The hotel itself is stunning with amazing views, but what really sets itself apart the staff. Each and every person is attentive, kind, and so personable! If we choose to return, this is the only place we would ever stay!

Le Sirenuse is truly one of a kind. It’s family owned and family run and the hotel is packed with beautiful artwork. The food and drinks are out of this world and the level of service and attention to detail are second to none. Everything feels so generous and they really go the extra mile for LHW Leaders Club Aurelian members.

Very beautiful hotel and decoration of the room/common area has fantastic taste. The staff are very polite, sincere and helpful. The most hygienic hotel I have ever stay , I saw the staff did thorough cleaning at breakfast/cafe sitting area, I felt so safe to stay here .

I have now stayed at Le Sirenuse five times, and I truly mean it when I say the experience here is unforgettable. I had only ever visited in the summer months (June, July, and August), but I just returned from a trip in April and it was so lovely. From the moment I pulled up to the hotel, I was welcomed back so warmly by everyone. It truly felt like returning home. Our room was ready upon arrival, which is always so convenient and very much appreciated. We spent the afternoon by the pool and had lunch there as well- it was just perfect. The views are everything! Dinner at La Sponda was an incredible experience and an absolute must in Positano. Dario, our server, was wonderful and made the evening so special. Breakfast each morning was just as lovely, with another fantastic server who not only took great care of us but also offered excellent recommendations for exploring Positano. The dining room at La Sponda (where breakfast is also served) is truly one of the most beautiful spaces at the hotel. Definitely the best breakfast in Positano — trust me, I've tried almost all of the luxury hotels in Positano! I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at Le Sirenuse several times now, and somehow, each visit seems to get even better. The hotel offers several activities and amenities for guests, and I think the boat ride to Nerano for lunch is probably my favorite. Although I didn’t get to take the hotel boat this year since we visited in early April, every moment of my stay was still exceptional. I want to especially thank Mauro at the front desk. Year after year, he goes above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect from reservations to thoughtful recommendations. I’ve been lucky enough to stay at many five-star hotels around the world, but the personal connections and kindness from Mauro, and the overall experience at Le Sirenuse, are truly unmatched. I can’t wait to return again in June!

A very satisfying stay experience. 👍

My favorite hotel during my trip to Italy. Although it is expensive, it is still worth staying for a night.
Environment: It is actually a very small cliff hotel located on the coast of Positano, but the overall design of the hotel is like an oil painting, which is very good. At night, the hotel can directly lead to the town of Positano, and it takes less than ten minutes to walk to the beach. Very beautiful and quiet

Hygiene: Very clean, 🈶 Turndown service, the staff are very polite

The location of the hotel is first-class, the environment is first-class, and it is a family hotel. But there are two points that must be remembered: 1. There is a problem with the hotel's credit card payment. This time, the hotel has not received the payment for the second time in a row (it is estimated that the equipment of Telecom Italia is old), and I have received the payment at that time. After successfully texting, you can only pay cash and settle with the hotel before returning to your country to communicate. 2. The food situation in the hotel, the pasta for lunch is too salty. Proposed to them at that time. The raw fish ordered at night was too bland and had no taste at all. Michelin restaurants should not be of this standard. I hope friends who are interested in staying in this hotel will remember it.
