high end luxury luxury and quiet on the Amalfi Coast. We loved our time at the hotel and highly recommend for a peaceful trip. The staff was attentive and made sure we had all we needed to rest and relax after a hectic two week tour of Italy, The outdoor gym is amazing and the breakfast is top notch!

Had a lovely birthday dinner out on the terrace. The staff were very attentive without it feeling stuffy. They made a special cake for me to celebrate. Highly recommend.

As we left our breakfast table after 9 fabulous nights at the Monastero, a delightful honeymooning couple on the next table asked us if we had ever stayed at another hotel as nice. We had asked ourselves the same question the previous evening and reminisced about a variety of hotels that we loved across several continents. However, we concluded that the Monastero Santa Rosa was very special in every way and had exceeded our expectations in its history, beauty, amazing location, and quality in all areas. Kudos to Ferdinando and every member of the team for their passion and generosity making for a truly memorable guest experience. You are the best of the best.

This was our second visit within a twelve month period . Our first visit was for seven nights in a Deluxe Sea View Room. Everything about this trip was complete perfection in every aspect, hence the second trip. Only this time we learnt from our mistake….. we came for 9 nights not 7 ! We also upgraded to the Deluxe Suite (Salvia) which ticked all our boxes. Our only worry this time was whether perfection could be repeated a second time ? My goodness - what an absolute waste of worry that was. Not only did it deliver, it totally exceeded all our expectations once again. Truly sublime and utterly Magical, thank you to every single member of the SR team you all went above and beyond to make our second stay even better. Ferdinando the GM is truly lovely and really has Santa Rosa in his heart - it’s not actually just a team it’s a family Thank you to EVERYONE Antony & Helen

We were very much looking forward to our stay here, especially after reading the reviews here. We just spent five days there. On the positive side, the staff is really lovely and goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The outdoor areas are truly lovely. Our agent kept us busy but gave us one day off and we spent time at the pool - it was wonderful and beautiful. There are two negatives. It is a converted monastery. The room was very small and certainly not a place we looked forward to returning to. But the worst part of the experience was our dinner there. My fish dish was bland and uninteresting and my wife's pasta dish was inedible. We did appreciate the shuttle which was readily available to us. But I doubt we would return.

The best hotel experience we have ever had - everything and everyone was in sync! We absolutely loved it!!! 🥰 The staff are sooooo genuine and helpful. Emphasis on the genuine as often that is rare even in the fanciest hotels. We will definitely be back!

Extremely rude and verbally aggressive manager!!!
My wife and I walked in this evening to check their menu for dinner. We were served water, but since we didn't like the menu options and $$$ prices, we told them we would like to pay for the water, and won't be eating (total stay in restaurant less than 5min). So far everything looked normal and the staff told us water is €3, which we would happily pay, but to our surprise the manager didn't take this well and he suddenly started making rude comments such as "you are not welcome here, don't come to Italy!", and "go back to your country!". These were the english sentences, but there were more Italian comments made that we couldn't understand and I'm assuming were rude just based on the tone.
Such rude behavior with a customer never happens in US! So to all my fellow countrymen, my recommendation is to stay away from this place and drive 8min more to Amalfi where there are many great welcoming restaurant choices at much more reasonable prices as well!

I am not going to even respond to all your artificial "truth", and obviously I was not expecting an apology from you based on how you've behaved and how you have responded to other complaints online, but from your comment "those who are the original true Americans for generations" you made it clear that you are not only RUDE and CONDESCENDING, but also a RACIST!

For the restaurant: made a reservation for dinner with a group of 8. We went with the catch of the day and a family style meal. The food was fantastic but even more so the staff treated us incredibly well, it was easily the best meal we have had during our weeklong stay in Amalfi. 100% recommend and will definitely be back on the next visit.

Can't recommend this place enough- our room was a good size, comfortable and clean. We had a great size terrace with spectacular views on the coast. The B&B is just outside Amalfi but being beside a bus stop makes it very easy to get into town on the regular buses.
The people who run the B&B are incredibly friendly and provided great service during the stay. Breakfast is brought to the room each morning, plus they also helped us out with a lift from the ferry when stuck.
Restaurant downstairs is also fantastic. Would definitely come back here in the future!

Great value for fresh seafood dishes. Delicious sea bass and moules appetizer. We came here twice in two days. Very kind staff.

Room was superb and spotless. Thanks to Agatha, one of the employees there, for being so kind to us. She encouraged us to go to the lemon tree garden with spectacular views of the ocean to enjoy the perfect breakfast she had prepared. It was unforgettable. Agatha really made us feel so welcome. Martina at reception was also very responsive and helpful to our inquiries. This hotel went above and beyond. Thank you!

We stayed in the hotel on June 19 and 20 and ate in the restaurant on our last evening in Amalfi. I am uncertain why there are such low reviews for both the hotel as well as the restaurant. Both were exactly as described by the owner (which is a family owned and operated hotel and restaurant) and well exceeded our expectations for quality, professionalism, and overall friendliness. Breakfast on the balcony cannot be skipped, and the host was extremely generous with his time and attention to help us navigate to sites we wanted to see. As for the restaurant, the waiters were awesome and worked seamlessly as a team. There seemed to be an equal number of hotel guests and local patrons the evening we dined there. The convenient location, the view from our balcony, and the overall value for the prices we paid were all exceptional. We couldn't have asked for a better start to the west coast part of our vacation. We recommend this property without any qualifications.
