Almarossa in Bologna

The hotel was only a 15-20-minute walk from the train station. The rooms were much bigger than expected with a comfy couch (and blankets) and TV. There was also an Alexa set up and she played music when directed and was pleasant. The kitchenette had ample utensils and cookware, but no napkins or paper towels. They supplied cold water in a pitcher as well as several bottles of wine (NOT complementary, but reasonably priced. The prices on the list in the room differed from the prices at the front desk, tho.) The complementary slippers were used every day as the tile floors were chilly. There was always enough hot water in the showers, but one bathroom light was out the whole time we were there (reported it to the front desk on the first day and they said they already knew about it, but were waiting on maintenance to fix. We had to make due without it for the six days we were there.) There were instructions on how to use each of the appliances (much appreciated!). It was a short walk to restaurants and cafes and the shopping district. Great accommodations for the price point and lots of room.

I’ll definitely stay here again! A warm welcome by staff and my room was readily available upon check-in. I was pleasantly surprised of the beautiful, simple and spacious one bedroom apartment (living room, dining table, kitchen with mini fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, and kitchenware). Very clean and open. I love the many windows that brought in natural sunlight and fresh air. I did not mind the late night chatter & noise in the streets below. If you are sensitive to noise, ear plugs were provided. If you’re like me who has late night cravings, I went to the local markets and kept handmade pasta and wine in the mini fridge. Gelato did not make it back haha. There is a lift that fits at most three people without luggage/one person with large luggage. Spiral stairs next to the lift if you don’t want to wait.

Safe and Great location! About 10-15 minutes to walk to Bologna Centrale train station, Piazza Maggiore, and/or University of Bologna. If you have luggage like me, about 10 euros each way to/from Bologna Centrale train station. Staff recommended Uber app for easy and faster service. There are multiple bus stops within 5 minutes walk. Take the line 20 bus (2.5 euros for a few hours better than a fine without a ticket. When you get on the bus, look for a red box to deposit your euros) and stop at “Croce” to walk the world’s longest Portico Di San Luca. So amazingly worth the walk to the top!

The hotel is very conveniently located a short walk from the city center. There are many restaurants and cafes close by. The staff is very helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious. It is on a busy street with lots of noise, so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Convenient location but very noisy from street noise. If you opened the window for fresh air (necessary) the street noise was LOUD. Delivery of breakfast to your room was convenient and well priced.

Friendly and helpful receptionist. Very clean, comfortable, and spacious apartment. Great location. This was our 3rd time staying at Almarosa. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Bologna.

The room was exceptionally clean and the furniture was in pristine condition. The staff was extremely polite and, helpful. The one negative comment would be the noise level coming from the streets. We were on the fifth floor and ear plugs did not help.

The hotel was about 10-15 minute walk to the historical centre. It was on a big street so it was fairly loud but quieted down at night so we had no problem sleeping. We opened the windows during the day time because there was a mild smell in the room. The size of the room was large, with a separate sitting room and small kitchen. Check out time was slightly earlier than some other hotels (10:30am), but they held our bags. They also had lockers in the basement you could use to store your bags. They had a nice garden sitting area we only found on the last day. We will probably opt to stay closer to center of town next time.

Second time in Bologna and I found this place! You will love it! I think the price is quite reasonable as well!
