Hotel Maggiore Bologna in Bologna

We stayed only for one night while traveling in Italy, but the impression was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was clean, air-con working well, albeit a bit noisy, with adjustable temp setting. Parking right in front of the hotel. Bus stop of line No. 23 (direct connection to the old-tow ) ca 300m.
Overall: Recommended👍

For our purposes we found it a bit far from the old town where we spent most of our time. Comfortable and clean currently alot of construction going on and also near the hospital. So lots of ambulances and helicopters but if you need accommodation near the hospital then this would be good. Maybe ask for a room on the other side away from the road it maybe quieter

I want to tell the hotel manager to give a raise to the employee who was working the night shift between 8 and 9 May 2026! He was extremely helpful and kind in assisting us with booking our stay. We arrived at Hotel Maggiore very late at night after dealing with a scam accommodation situation, and the receptionist listened to us carefully, treated us with patience and understanding, and helped us arrange a room at the hotel. We are truly grateful for your kindness and professionalism that night, sir! You turned a very stressful situation into a positive experience and saved our vacation, allowing us to forget the awful experience we had with the previous accommodation!

Overall, we had a great stay and excellent service at Hotel Maggiore in Bologna! We had a wonderful time there! The accommodation was clean, welcoming, and comfortable, with easy bus access to the city center and very close to Lidl and nearby cafés. The hotel was also very quiet, with highly soundproofed windows and walls, which made the stay even more relaxing and enjoyable!

booked there to stay a night before departure via BLQ, was ok to stay and staff was kind and responsive

bit small entrance for the car but not so crowded so was ok

The hotel staff were wonderful and welcoming: I paid for the room and breakfast option, but as I was leaving very early the next morning, they left a takeaway breakfast package at reception! The single room was decidedly small and clean, as was the bathroom.

The hotel is located near the highway and has its own parking lot, making it safe and convenient for drivers. It's also very close to the city center by taxi. The hotel service is excellent; everyone is very nice and willing to help.

I stayed in Hotel Maggiore three nights in the first week of May. My room was at the eighth floor and I really enjoyed the view to the city from my window, especially at night. Very quiet room, very good bed, I slept pretty well there. The hotel is not very central, but the bus that takes you to the center of Bologna is only 2 minutes away. Also there is a giant supermarket close and two really good restaurants, so you will not really miss anything. For me, it was a bonus that was away from the buzz, as it also gave me the chance to experience a real local neighborhood and not just the tourist side of Bologna. The people who work at the hotel were all very very polite, helpful and sweet. Also, the breakfast was good and I also liked the smoking area outside and the free bookcrossing library.

OK, good breakfast, the location is a bit far from the exhibition hall, but there is a bus stop

The room is quite small. However, the hotel is nice.
