Booked today, upon checkin I was not greeted - staff barely speaks English and requested to keep my personal ID for 10 minutes. I said I will not leave my government issued ID with him and he just ignored me. I asked in total 3 times back for my ID. Very unprofessional and staff later ignored me too. Stay away from that place, you never know what they do with your ID within these 10 minutes. Next time your staff refuses to give me my ID I will call the police.

In Ferrara, we have also stayed at Radisson Hotel Ferrara. My review, to compare, can be found on TripAdvisor. Pros: - Location: (Walking) Castello Estense (4mins), Cattedrale di San Giorgio (5mins), Palazzo dei Diamanti (9mins), Corso Ercole I d’Este (11mins), Palazzo Schifanoia (16mins). - Bathroom amenities: Soap bar, combined shampoo/showergel, vanity kit, shower cap, hairdryer. - Room: spacious, very clean, with a beautiful frescoed ceiling. - Breakfast: delicious pastries. Cons: - Wi-Fi: extremely slow for 2026. I measured around 1 Mbps in the room and it was so sluggish I struggled to load even basic pages. That’s not acceptable nowadays. - Bed comfort: the mattress dipped noticeably in the middle and the pillows were very thin, so sleep quality suffered. - Technology: the TV was small and dated, and overall the hotel would benefit from some modernisation, particularly on the technology side.

A few improvements would go a long way here, such as nicer bed linen and a better mattress. The property is nice if a little dated. Breakfast was good. Wi-Fi did not work in our room. Staff friendly and accommodating.

Lovely hotel close to town
Lovely hotel really close to the town centre. Room was spaciois, had an amazing shower, and breakfast was great. Friendly and helpful staff too. Great stay

Big Birthday Treat
We stayed in Hotel Europa 25 years ago and went back to Ferrara for my Big Birthday so decided to stay at the same Hotel. Staff are very friendly and the Hotel is just as we remembered it.
We were even given a room upgrade which made the trip even more special. Thankyou.

Traditional Italian hospitality.
This hotel is very close to the Castle and within walking distance from main tourist attractions.
Some rooms may be a bit basic and the ensuite bathrooms can be a bit small, make sure you check before booking if you have claustrophobia or a higher body mass index.
The staff is really friendly, helpful and kind. Guests can leave their luggage at the reception after checkout and collect later. The breakfast buffet is HUGE!
Although there are limited options available for vegans.
In general I appreciated it is a genuine, authentic, old fashioned Italian hotel.

The inn is located a stone's throw from the center and is therefore convenient for visiting the city. The rooms are really beautiful, well-kept and very large. I would say it is a very romantic structure, which combines the old with a touch of modernity. The whirlpool tub is beautiful and the bathroom is very large. The roof terrace is also nice. The staff is very friendly, helpful and engaging. I requested a bottle of wine in the room and they also provided us with some appetizers and rose petals. Good breakfast in the hotel bar. Except on Sundays there is also an internal restaurant. The cost is not super cheap but it is the correct price for what the structure offers. Highly recommended!

Located very close to the city Centre, you feel at home from the first step in. The room we stayed was simply beautiful, at the top floor. In the morning you will be more than happy thinking about the breakfast that's waiting downstairs.
