Continental Genova Hotel in Genoa

This hotel was supposed to be a 4-star, but when I got there, they said they upgraded me to their 5-star place because of some change in plans.
So, what I'm writing about is the 5-star hotel, and I'm totally grateful for the upgrade!
The hotel, even though it was old, was super clean and had awesome services like massages and personal stuff.
My room was pretty big, the bed was clean and comfy, and breakfast was amazing.
The only issue was they said there was private parking, but they just parked my car in the lot next door and charged me 30 euros for one night until morning. The parking fee wasn't mentioned anywhere.

Very close to train station, attend to the details, has a feeling of old time luxury, kind and helpful reception, good breakfast. Definitely recommend if you happen to be in Genoa.

Good hotel, right next to the main station of Genova. The building looks historic and the elevator was very unique - really loved it. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a decent view!

Breakfast had decent choices and were filling.

Staff were friendly, and told us the places to go in Genoa!

Location-wise, there are plenty of little bars and restaurants around. The only missing thing was a supermarket, for which you need to walk a little.

Small but lovely clean rooms, with clean towels and sheets, good water pressure. Some pieces of furniture could be easily removed for creating more space 😅
The staff is helpful, we had a tasty breakfast, it was a good one night stop for us.

The city is another story, we had a long walk to the center and discovered a dirty and maybe a dangerous Genoa😳

The mattress is hard, it's very noisy to sleep, you can hear the elevator. And the worst part is the air conditioner blows directly on the bed. It's close to the station. The breakfast is very average, the coffee is capsule-based.

A VERY DECENT HOTEL. Clean, kind staff. I had the executive room. Good price. AND VERY GOOD COFFEE.

CONS: THE LOBBY CLOSES AT 23.00 AND YOU MUST ENTER THROUGH THE SISTER HOTEL.

THE ELEVATOR GETS STUCK BECAUSE OF DUMB GUESTS!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING IS WORSE THAN CLIMBING 4 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS AT MIDNIGHT CAUSE SOMEONE FORGOT TO CLOSE THE DOOR OF THE “ANTIQUE” ELEVATOR

I can't rate this hotel specifically, as I was accommodated at the neighboring Grand Hotel Savoia, but since they're part of the same chain, I think I can leave a comment.
I liked the Savoia overall: beautiful interiors with a hint of luxury, sumptuous breakfasts on the terrace with a wide selection of dishes, and the restaurant has live music in the mornings and evenings—a pianist plays, very beautiful! 😍
Daily cleaning, towels changed, and bottled water replenished daily.
The location is convenient if you're traveling by train, as Genova Piazza Principe station is three minutes from the hotel (easy access to Milan, La Spezia, Santa Margherita Ligure, and nearby towns and suburbs).
The only thing that really upset me was that I stayed at this hotel for my birthday, but there wasn't even a card. After all, it's normal for a high-end hotel to be attentive to guests, especially if they have important events or special occasions.

We were very happy with our selection of hotel. This hotel is located right next to the main train station and at walking distance to the city center. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was delicious!!! Staff spoke English well and were very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel to friends and family

We really enjoyed our one night stay! The bed was comfortable and we stayed in a corner room, which had two windows that opened up to a nice view. It made for a lovely breeze through the room. The shower was wonderful and the hotel is located in a convenient, very walkable area. Would recommend!
