We are a senior couple, Over the last 8 years, we have stayed at Astro 4 times always for weeks at a time.. Astro has always been a great experience, first it is the perfect location, then the staff is the absolute best. We give them top marks on everything.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Genoa. It is close to the train station, shopping, restaurants, bus lines, etc. Located on the 5th floor, it might be challenging to reach as there is only one, small elevator. This is my response to the manager's response to my review published in February 2025. The response stated that I payed 25 euros per night to stay at the hotel which was cheaper than staying at a hostel and, thus, shouldn't complain about the room. I'd like to correct this statement. I have mixed feelings about this place. Pros: conveniently located, reasonably priced parking, quiet, friendly staff. Cons: the hotel was under renovation when we were there, so it was pretty messy. The room we stayed in wasn't renovated yet and looked more like a dorm room than a hotel room. The furniture, bedding and towels were old and looked unappealing. I chose Alberto Astro for the location near one of the Genoa train stations. The area was surprisingly fancy. But don’t be fooled. Good location on a bustling street, with a lot of stores nearby, including groceries. Easy check-in. Only downside is a little smell of smoke. It seemed some previous guests didn't abide by the smoke-free rule.

The owner is really helpful and open to questions. The location is really suggested for the closeness to both the subway and the railways. Closeby many restaurants can be found. Finally I found the rooms very clean and full with all the necessary.

This is an exceptional bed and breakfast - we stayed for 10 days, travelling along the Italian Riviera and using il Borgo de Genoa as a home base. A wonderful place to stay if in Genova. Room was comfortable and always clean when we returned, breakfast always fresh with plenty of options. The owners were friendly, kind and not hesitating to be helpful also with good local recommendations. Location is great - right next to the train station and city center, with shops and restaurants along the way, just 10 minutes walk. 6 stars if I could!

Excellent The room was simple, clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable! The bathroom was functional and spotless. The location was great, in a beautiful neighborhood just 20 minutes from the city center. The breakfast was superb, and our host was so attentive to our needs – we felt truly spoiled and absolutely loved the food!

great b and b great place! you will need an international phone to get into main building, then know the code to get into the b and b. tricky but instructions are good. parking pass available from host, but you’ll never find a place - reserved ahead of time through parkmeter at the sas garage about 8 min walk. from there it’s a 20 min walk to the old town. our host josefina was incredible - very helpful...

The host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. For breakfast, you could choose a brioche, and the focaccia was superb. The metro station is just a short walk from the property.

the wifi didn't work, it was a bit complicated to get into the apartment, the bathrooms were not very clean/maintained (showers mainly) and the kitchen was not fully equiped and it was not the cleanest. but good value/price.

There is no lift and the property is on the 3rd floor. It is inside a secure building. The street to the hotel is quite steep. There are two ways to enter the property. Rooms were nice and friendly host but the showers were in awful condition. Blackish mold all over the showers and on the bathroom wall. One of showers wasn’t draining and when I told the host he just shrugged it off. You wouldn’t be able to shower for more than 30 sec without flooding the bathroom with it draining so poorly. This is a very old hotel in Genoa, close to the GNV. I arrived after 7 pm, no staff available at the reception. However, hotel provided clear instructions on what to do to get in. Initially, it was challenging, but once I figure things out, I actually felt good about the place. There was no private parking, so I was really concerned about parking my new car on the street.

We booked 2 rooms: one for my parents and the other for myself. While mine didn't have much issues, the bin in my parents' room was not cleared and there were strands of hair on some of the towels. I was unsure walking up to the building about how "hotel-like" it would be but the building is so charming and the hotel staff was very responsive via WhatsApp. We enjoyed that there was a contintental breakfast every morning and felt like we were in a hotel but then had some of the experience of being a local when you walked out the door.

The hotel's location is excellent, right across the street from the train station, making it a good stopover if you're taking a cruise. The hotel is a bit old, but it does have two vintage elevators. The breakfast was pretty standard, nothing special, just your typical Western quick-service hotel breakfast.

Hotel was basic, but modern. Close to the railway station & coach stop, so ideal. If going to watch either Genoa or Sampdoria, a bus runs from 50 metres away from the hotel to the stadium. Check-in was fast & effcient.

This is definitely a budget hotel. The bed mattress was way too soft for me. Felt like just a big foam pad. Bathroom is very small but room was a good size. The best thing going for the hotel is the front desk staff. They were super friendly and helpful.

Need to walk upslope to reach the hotel. Room was clean but there was no electric kettle, no bottled water, too basic for the price charged. Receptionist wasn’t very friendly as well.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is fantastic for exploring the city, and everything was spotlessly clean. The location is good, but I was given a room on the ground floor (level 0) with windows facing the parking lot. Housekeeping staff knocked on my door twice, even though it was before checkout time.

Just few parking in the hotel. The staff said these were reserved and not allowed to park even with space. It didn’t mark clearly in booking and very disappointed for this parking arrangement.

We stayed at the B&B Sogno dai Grimaldi. The location is excellent for visiting Genoa's historic center. We found the room tidy and clean. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen, where breakfast is served, is also on the same floor. The building has several floors; the B&B is on the second floor, which has an elevator. The building is in need of some maintenance.

I stayed at this B&B for two nights. I never met the owners. It's on the third or fourth floor, and the elevator doesn't work, which isn't very convenient with suitcases. I'd like to know more about the breakfast, such as fresh bread, not always croissants. Decent location.

Beautiful place, very kind owners, we stayed 2 days in this property and we had a very good time, clean and convenient to reach the center, during this period breakfast was not served due to renovations, but nearby there is an excellent ice cream bar for a stratospheric breakfast.

It was lovely to be greeted by the owner of this property, who was welcoming and extremely kind in advising us on transportation, places of interest, and good places to eat. The property offers clean and well-equipped rooms and more. We highly recommend it.

Very lovely and cozy place with two cats. But on 4th floor without elevator and no a/c but that was not a problem - air was fresh. Owner is awesome!

Beautiful apartment with air condition close to Boccadasse beach, which was a wonderful place to be at. We stayed in the junior suite. Fransesca is a wonderful host working hard to give her guests the best experience. I have never had breakfasts like the ones she makes. The Chinese restaurant across from the building was too notch! Do not miss that! We loved our stay!

Genoa Text in march that be 2 of us as junior suite held 3 she replied 2 days before saying there would be a supplement when got which expected to be 100 euro but when got there she wanted 417 euro for someone to share accommodation that I already paid for didn't think this was right

Our host was wonderful! We stayed in the room with the balcony. It was really beautiful room. Only complaint was the agower was either scaldin or freezing.

A very recommended hotel. The hotel is very new. The bed and shower water are very good. It is in a private yacht club. There are six restaurants nearby and a very safe free parking lot. I will come again if I have the opportunity.
