Just 300 metres from De Ferrari Metro Station, this family-run guest house offers bright rooms with a flat-screen TV. The Genoa Acquarium and the San Lorenzo Cathedral are a 12-minute walk away. Rooms have parquet floors and pastel décor.
We are a senior couple, Over the last 8 years, we have stayed at Astro 4 times always for weeks at a time.. Astro has always been a great experience, first it is the perfect location, then the staff is the absolute best. We give them top marks on everything.
This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Genoa. It is close to the train station, shopping, restaurants, bus lines, etc. Located on the 5th floor, it might be challenging to reach as there is only one, small elevator. If you have a lot of luggage, you could be in trouble. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. There is a tiny fridge, tv and a communal dining room. There is 24-hour...
This is my response to the manager's response to my review published in February 2025. The response stated that I payed 25 euros per night to stay at the hotel which was cheaper than staying at a hostel and, thus, shouldn't complain about the room. I'd like to correct this statement. I paid $133 per two nights and given the amenities felt that the room was overpriced. If it indeed were 25 euros per...
I have mixed feelings about this place. Pros: conveniently located, reasonably priced parking, quiet, friendly staff. Cons: the hotel was under renovation when we were there, so it was pretty messy. The room we stayed in wasn't renovated yet and looked more like a dorm room than a hotel room. The furniture,
bedding and towels were old and looked unappealing. There was black mold in the shower stall
I chose Alberto Astro for the location near one of the Genoa train stations. The area was surprisingly fancy. But don’t be fooled. The facade and spiral staircase are far more elegant than the albergo. The room was large, albeit sadly decorated. The breakfast was bare bones, although they make a great cappuccino! Most of the staff were friendly, except the night guard who was surly. Maybe that...
Good location on a bustling street, with a lot of stores nearby, including groceries. Easy check-in. Only downside is a little smell of smoke. It seemed some previous guests didn't abide by the smoke-free rule.
The owner is really helpful and open to questions. The location is really suggested for the closeness to both the subway and the railways. Closeby many restaurants can be found. Finally I found the rooms very clean and full with all the necessary.
Perfect accommodation and the city is great.
The room was clean and with all the necessities. I liked the modern and classical decoration. The only negative was that there is no sound insolation. The metro is close by and the host is extremely helpful.
This is an exceptional bed and breakfast - we stayed for 10 days, travelling along the Italian Riviera and using il Borgo de Genoa as a home base. It is less than a block from the train station, so it is super convenient for getting around. It is clean and bright, with wonderful modern amenities. The hosts are lovely people and very knowledgeable about the area - AND they provide a lovely and delicious...
A wonderful place to stay if in Genova. Room was comfortable and always clean when we returned, breakfast always fresh with plenty of options. The owners were friendly, kind and not hesitating to be helpful also with good local recommendations. Location is great - right next to the train station and city center, with shops and restaurants along the way, just 10 minutes walk. 6 stars if I could!
Very nice place in Genoa. The b&b is created a lovely small hotel which is exceptional for its beauty, cleanliness, comfort .Unforgettable breakfast.
Nice place, not spotless but clean enough, with plenty of space. Breakfast is shared and very plentiful.
Very convenient for getting around, reasonable price.
Enjoyable stay in Genoa
Great location with easy access to station. Lovely, very helpful host. Good communication prior to arrival. Good selection at breakfast. Comfortable air conditioned room with separate modern, clean private bathroom. A great alternative to impersonal hotels.
Excellent
The room was simple, clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable! The bathroom was functional and spotless. The location was great, in a beautiful neighborhood just 20 minutes from the city center. The breakfast was superb, and our host was so attentive to our needs – we felt truly spoiled and absolutely loved the food!
i have an entire review that i will include in the photos to avoid typing the whole thing again - would highly recommend- see the photo for tips
great b and b
great place! you will need an international phone to get into main building, then know the code to get into the b and b. tricky but instructions are good. parking pass available from host, but you’ll never find a place - reserved ahead of time through parkmeter at the sas garage about 8 min walk. from there it’s a 20 min walk to the old town. our host josefina was incredible - very helpful...
The host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. For breakfast, you could choose a brioche, and the focaccia was superb. The metro station is just a short walk from the property.

Featuring a restaurant, bar, garden and free WiFi, Da Marcello is located in Genoa, 4 km from Via Garibaldi and 5 km from University of Genoa. The property is set 10 km from Port of Genoa, 3.2 km from Porta Soprana and 3.5 km from Matteotti Square.
the wifi didn't work, it was a bit complicated to get into the apartment, the bathrooms were not very clean/maintained (showers mainly) and the kitchen was not fully equiped and it was not the cleanest. but good value/price.
Staff was helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Loved having the kitchen access.
There is no lift and the property is on the 3rd floor. It is inside a secure building. The street to the hotel is quite steep. There are two ways to enter the property. When you check in it is best to get a number 36 to the castle and walk from there. Sunny was very helpful on arrival and departure. He stored our luggage for us and helped carry our case outside. On the down side the hotel...
Rooms were nice and friendly host but the showers were in awful condition. Blackish mold all over the showers and on the bathroom wall. One of showers wasn’t draining and when I told the host he just shrugged it off. You wouldn’t be able to shower for more than 30 sec without flooding the bathroom with it draining so poorly. Door to the shower was also broken and wouldn’t close. The other bathroom...
This is a very old hotel in Genoa, close to the GNV. I arrived after 7 pm, no staff available at the reception. However, hotel provided clear instructions on what to do to get in. Initially, it was challenging, but once I figure things out, I actually felt good about the place. There was no private parking, so I was really concerned about parking my new car on the street.
This hotel is not as bad as the other reviews suggest. If you have the right expectations, this hotel does the job. I was there with my family for a vacation this past summer. We were taking a cruise from Genoa. We were looking for a hotel near the train station so we could do a self guided excursion to Cinque Terre and Pisa. We needed a hotel near the train station and of the two train stations in...
Our stay at Starhotels President was a perfect blend of comfort, style, and convenience. The hotel’s modern design and spacious, well-kept rooms made it a relaxing retreat after exploring Genoa. Beds were comfortable, rooms spotlessly clean, and the atmosphere calm and welcoming. The location is excellent — just steps from transport links and within easy reach of the city’s attractions. The staff were...
The main advantage of this hotel is its location — just steps away from the train station and within easy walking distance of the city’s main attractions and the waterfront. Built in the 1960s–70s using the modern technologies and quality materials of that era, the hotel has largely retained its original style and atmosphere.
The rooms could definitely use some renovation. In my case, the air conditioner...
It's OK. There are many nice hotels in Genoa.
Great Hotel. I always come back willingly.
This hotel is excellent close to 5 stars standard. I am actually surprised it's 4 stars. It has a perfect spot next Genova Brignole which gives you good travel options by trains and buses
We booked 2 rooms: one for my parents and the other for myself. While mine didn't have much issues, the bin in my parents' room was not cleared and there were strands of hair on some of the towels. The AC in their room also wouldn't turn on, luckily it was a cool night so they didn't have to use it.
What we both encountered was that the water pressure would become very low during peak times, making...
Stay was okay. Sheets were very thin for it being a cold time of year during my visit. No blankets were available. I also got stuck at the elevator when I was checking out because another person left the elevator for open (the old school kind where there’s is a door to open in order to enter or exit the elevator).
On the good side, check in and out were easy and simple. The fixings and decor were...
The hotel is an apartment-style hotel located in a residential building, a relatively historic building with an Italian style. I felt it offered a more unique and authentic experience than modern hotels. The location is excellent; there are shops and restaurants downstairs, and it's a short walk to the beach (the aquarium is just a short walk away, and a little further on is the Italian boutique hotel...
Excellent location, a 5-minute walk from the train station. The check-in counter is 50 meters from the hotel entrance. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are many shops and restaurants nearby.
The room, cleanliness, and breakfast were excellent.
Good location, close to the train station. Late checking-in will incur an additional fee for check-ins after 10 PM.

I was unsure walking up to the building about how "hotel-like" it would be but the building is so charming and the hotel staff was very responsive via WhatsApp. We enjoyed that there was a contintental breakfast every morning and felt like we were in a hotel but then had some of the experience of being a local when you walked out the door.
Great place
Nice clean spacious room. Host was very accommodating for early check in/bag storage.
Very Good
Very good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and clean rooms. The shower was slow to drain and the bed was more firm than we prefer but would stay here again. Overall a very good stay..
Beautiful apartment, clean with comfortable beds. Small but usable kitchen. Large and modern bathroom with huge shower. Only issue was a slow drain in shower that caused a little flooding. Very helpful and polite front desk person. Would definitely say there again.
Good location and staff was very helpful.
Beautiful property, historical building yet the actual apartment is a combination on modern& authentic Italian apartment. Great service.
AC not functioning but acceptable in Spring season.
Facility is quite old.
Room toilet quite small and below average condition.
Lift is quite small.
Stayed at the hotel for two nights and it was super convenient! The place just few steps away from the train station which makes it easier when you travel with a bigger luggage.
> walkable distance to nice restaurants and shops
> few steps away from train station
> tasty breakfast, buffet
> friendly staff
> free luggage storage after and before check in
I totally recommend!
The hotel's location is excellent, right across the street from the train station, making it a good stopover if you're taking a cruise. The hotel is a bit old, but it does have two vintage elevators. The breakfast was pretty standard, nothing special, just your typical Western quick-service hotel breakfast.
Hotel was basic, but modern. Close to the railway station & coach stop, so ideal. If going to watch either Genoa or Sampdoria, a bus runs from 50 metres away from the hotel to the stadium. Check-in was fast & effcient.
Helpful reception desk - facilities clean and comfortable. Close to the main train station in Genova and lovely breakfast!
This is definitely a budget hotel. The bed mattress was way too soft for me. Felt like just a big foam pad. Bathroom is very small but room was a good size.
The best thing going for the hotel is the front desk staff. They were super friendly and helpful.
Need to walk upslope to reach the hotel. Room was clean but there was no electric kettle, no bottled water, too basic for the price charged. Receptionist wasn’t very friendly as well.
Great location and within walking distance of all the key cites in Genoa. Clean and comfortable rooms. Recommended.
Great location, good cleanliness, staff very friendly. I recommend this hotel.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is fantastic for exploring the city, and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were lovely, and our room was beautifully furnished, with even the bathroom lighting being just perfect 😀. The late check-out was incredibly convenient (what a relief!). Next time I'm in Genoa, I will only stay with you! Thank you.
The location is good, but I was given a room on the ground floor (level 0) with windows facing the parking lot. Housekeeping staff knocked on my door twice, even though it was before checkout time.
Just few parking in the hotel. The staff said these were reserved and not allowed to park even with space. It didn’t mark clearly in booking and very disappointed for this parking arrangement.
Sadly a very mixed experience.
Positives: modern, contemporary, spacious, clean. The location is an easy walk to places to eat, shopping, some historical features. Washing machine meant we could wash clothes while travelling, always a bonus. Humidifier helps keep the air a little fresher as it is a little dark. Very safe and secure with private entry and heavily locked doors.
Stayed four nights in...
If you are an experienced traveler and like quiet then this is the perfect place for you. It is an aparthotel in the heart of Genoa's historic center located on a peaceful side street, but within very easy walking distance of nearly every important sight, and great shopping. The studio I stayed in was well equipped and very comfortable. Be advised that there is no service desk, so you'd need to get...
Beautiful apartment in the historic district of Genoa. Modern accommodations, very well maintained and clean.
Location is about a 15 minute walk from most of the major attractions in Genoa.
Please note the apartment is located in the pedestrian portion of the city and is not accessible by car. Covered parking is available at Porto Antico which is about a 10 minute walk away from the apartment....
Large, clean, modern apartment, great location. Well appointed, shutters and double glazed windows make it very quite but right in the historical centre. 2 mins walk from metro. Daily maid service. Fantastic place to stay and bed was comfortable. Only missing a toaster to make it complete.
This was a family run hotel and they made sure that their guests were happy and comfortable. At check in, the owner gave us a map of the area and pinpointed the main streets and attractions. It turned to be very helpful. The room turned to be a pleasant surprise. I booked a room with 3 beds, expecting a small room like anywhere in Europe, but we were given an appartment. Very happy with it. The room...
We could only stay one night, but we enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful with recommending what to see on one afternoon, and with a restaurant for dinner.
It's super convenient that it's only a few minutes from the train station.
It's very convenient as it's close to the station.
Also, the female front desk staff was very helpful.
However, the shower room is very small and difficult to get in.
Enjoy our stay. Staff are friendly.
We had a great stay at Hotel Balbi. True, there is currently no elevator in the building but the owners were more than willing to carry our luggage up to the third floor. You cannot beat the central location which is an easy walk from the train station. There were three of us and we were placed in a large room which had a double bed and 2 singles. The no frills room was very clean and we considered...
Our room was really big (at least 20m2) had an original Fresco on the a sealing! The owner was super nice and helpful

It's in the center of Genoa and just a few meters from the port, so everything is convenient. The room was clean and spacious enough. Breakfast was also good. We had a great time.
The property is in an excellent location for visiting Genoa's main attractions. It's managed by wonderful and kind people. The property is clean and well-maintained. The room is spacious and clean, and the breakfast is plentiful.
Excellent.
We stayed at the B&B Sogno dai Grimaldi. The location is excellent for visiting Genoa's historic center. We found the room tidy and clean. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen, where breakfast is served, is also on the same floor. The building has several floors; the B&B is on the second floor, which has an elevator. The building is in need of some maintenance.
I stayed at this B&B for two nights. I never met the owners. It's on the third or fourth floor, and the elevator doesn't work, which isn't very convenient with suitcases.
I'd like to know more about the breakfast, such as fresh bread, not always croissants. Decent location.
The location was excellent, right in the centre. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be back, great location, only downside is the paid parking which is often unavailable!
Beautiful place, very kind owners, we stayed 2 days in this property and we had a very good time, clean and convenient to reach the center, during this period breakfast was not served due to renovations, but nearby there is an excellent ice cream bar for a stratospheric breakfast.
It was lovely to be greeted by the owner of this property, who was welcoming and extremely kind in advising us on transportation, places of interest, and good places to eat. The property offers clean and well-equipped rooms and more. We highly recommend it.
Francesco is a great host, bed is comfortable and place is spotless. His fat cat is very friendly.
Great location in the old town of Genova, perfect for Sightseeing in the town. Also a nice short walk to the railway Station for daily trips to Camogli, Rapallo, Portofino. Thank you for nice stay and days!
The facility is extremely well situated, very good value for the money and Francesco, the host is very friendly. I definitely recommend.
Structure a stone's throw from the center and the Genoa aquarium, the owner is very kind and super helpful for anything. We will definitely be back, thanks for everything
Awesome place, super friendly host and best situation to visit Genoa
Very lovely and cozy place with two cats. But on 4th floor without elevator and no a/c but that was not a problem - air was fresh. Owner is awesome!
Beautiful apartment with air condition close to Boccadasse beach, which was a wonderful place to be at. We stayed in the junior suite. Fransesca is a wonderful host working hard to give her guests the best experience. I have never had breakfasts like the ones she makes. The Chinese restaurant across from the building was too notch! Do not miss that! We loved our stay!
Genoa
Text in march that be 2 of us as junior suite held 3 she replied 2 days before saying there would be a supplement when got which expected to be 100 euro but when got there she wanted 417 euro for someone to share accommodation that I already paid for didn't think this was right
Francesca was amazing hostess. Most helpful. Lovely property. Amazing breakfast
Beautiful hospitality 10/10
Beautiful place with amazing hospitality. I will definitely stay here again.
Charming b&b
Charming Italian B&B, Francesca was helpful and friendly. Great location, minutes from Bocadesse
Breakfast was superb
Our host was wonderful! We stayed in the room with the balcony. It was really beautiful room. Only complaint was the agower was either scaldin or freezing.

Far from the city center
The hotel was well appointed, staff was helpful, and rooms were comfortable and clean.
A very recommended hotel. The hotel is very new. The bed and shower water are very good. It is in a private yacht club. There are six restaurants nearby and a very safe free parking lot. I will come again if I have the opportunity.
Great location, but if you have an early flight anytime before 6am, make sure you schedule transportation to the airport the day prior
The room was large, clean, modern, comfortable and quiet. We slept well on our nights there! We chose it because of the good reviews and we would stay here again. Location was great . I give it a must stay, and if I ever come back to Genova I'll be sure to stay there again.
Amazing small hotel in the heart of Genova marina.
Fantastic terraces with an extraordinary view on the boats
