Luxury B&B Iolanda in Catania

We stayed 2 weeks in Sicily. The first 2 nights and the last 2 nights in Catania we stayed here
Absolutely the best.
Situated on a lovely little square about 10 minutes from the bustling outdoor market and about 20 to the Piazza Duomo and all the shops and restaurants.
Daniella and Alfio were so welcoming and courteous.
Rooms are a good size and very comfortable. On top of that the price was very reasonable. Great job. Gracie Mille

My friend and I enjoyed our stay here. We booked separate rooms and both were clean and comfortable. My room faced the city and had a nice balcony and view of the lively square/park. My friend’s balcony faced a building but she said it smelled so good like fresh baked bread all the time? Lol. There is a nice square and 2 grocery stores just across the street. The walls and windows kept the outside noise out, but you can hear a lot in the hallway and in the coffee/tea area…during our stay it was brief noise and nothing too bothersome as the other guests were considerate. It’s about a 25 minute walk to Piazza Del Duomo/the city center but there is plenty to eat, enjoy and explore in between and close to the b&b as well. The breakfast is at a cafe down the street and they offer a coffee/other beverage and 2 bakery choices. The b&b host is very pleasant and she scheduled our taxi to the airport. I’d stay again! Extremely friendly hosts, located towards the station, about 25 minutes walk to the main squares. Great little supermarket across the street.
Rooms good size, loved the little balcony. Breakfast across the street in a little cafe, simple but substantial. Extremely clean property.
The only negative was street noise and noise from other guests coming and going which did disturb sleep.
Excellent shower.

Lovely place to stay. Beautiful modern room with a great shower. Our room was overlooking the piazza outside with a lovely fountain. 10min walk from central bus and train station. 20min walk to via Etna which is the centre of all interesting things. Hosts were friendly and helpful (using Google Translate).
My only slight reservation was that breakfast was coffee and sweet pastry served on a tray to be eaten in your room. Not the most comfortable. Supermarket 25m away for breakfast additions (Cereal Yogurt and fruit).

Adding on to the staff and management being accommodating, the room we stayed in was lovely! The room decor was so beautiful and modern! I especially loved the artwork! The bed was very comfortable and we were very thankful to have A/C especially since it was very hot in the city! The breakfast was delicious and really convenient! 5 stars!!!

Really nice B&B for a short stay in Catania. We booked this B&B for our last night in Catania after a little road trip through Sicily. The room was really modern and nice and the host super friendly. The included breakfast and the possibility for coffee is a plus. The water flow in the shower was surprisingly strong for Sicily. However, compared to our previous accommodation in Catania, this one was a bit off from the touristic spots. At night we didn't feel too comfortable walking home. However, we got there safely. So if you are not travelling alone, I would probably recommend this place.

I was already excited to tour the island of Sicily. However I didn’t expect such an outstanding service from our host, Alfio. No matter the time, he was quick to answer all my phone calls and provided me with immediate service. I enjoyed sight seeing the beautiful country of Italy but Alfio made it more a comfortable stay with his quick problem solving and suggestions of were to eat, what beach to go to, and were to shop. Although we stationed in Catania. Because of his suggestion we visited about 5 other cities which included Taormina and Mount Etna-Sicilys local volcano. I was even more excited because of the movie “The Godfather” which was filmed here in Savoca, if it wasn’t for Alfio giving me this information, I would have missed my only opportunity to visit the area. Drawing from my experience, I wouldn’t want to switch my B and B. Grazie Alfio.

The host is very very accommodating, friendly and fast to reply. The room was spacious and clean. The bed is very comfortable. It is a good place to stay for few nights to explore the lively Catania city. Catania is very nice city with great food, parks and everything is a lot more affordable compared to Milan.

There’s complimentary breakfast at a coffee bar nearby. Very nice simple coffee and cornetto.

One of the room with a front view to the fountain is very romantic at night.

To be honest, My first impression of the place/street maybe bit unsafe. But in reality, it is very nice and safe. People generally are very very nice in Sicily.

Definitely worth going back.
