Perfect for a short trip! Everything you could possibly need and the host was absolutely marvellous.

The breakfast is round the corner and the market isn't noisy at all. The Saturday night noise of being right in the centre of everything but with the AC and the bathroom extract on - no sound at all.

The room was clean and comfy and then communal kitchen had everything you could need as in snacks and coffee.

The place was a little tricky to find at first but once I figured out which side of the street, it was easy as pie.

Would absolutely recommend as a single female lone traveller.

Nice place and gentil host. My only complaint would be the wifi.

B&B in the center of Catania. Very close to the market. The room isn't very large, but it's clean and comfortable. Breakfast isn't very varied, but it's good. Private entrance. There's paid, monitored parking nearby. Recommended.

Nice and friendly host, speaks English so easy to communicate with. Room we got was comfy and clean. No daily cleaning service, during our stay of 5 nights the room was cleaned only once, but this was really enough so all good.

The room we chose had a very small bathroom though and no bidet, I guess we haven't look at the photos close enough as the others seem to have it. We got the view to the market square and it is a little bit noisy, but with closed windows (good AC in the room) this was not much of a bother really, as well as the noise from the nightlife there that continues to the wee hours of the morning really.

The view from the balcony has its merits, as you can see majestic Etna over the roofs of the city. The minus is the square below is incredibly littered and looks completely ruined. But... this is more or leas the characteristic of the whole city itself, so you simply need to get used to it everywhere.

Location is really good for sightseeing. You can walk to most of the places of interest in the city centre. You can also walk from the Alibus (the one connecting you to the airport) stop easily there as well. There is plethora of restaurants in the vicinity, with absolutely great street food Pane e Polpette just on the aforementioned square: a must visit, but if you are a meat eater and want to try horse (local delicacy). The market itself starts 07:00 every day except Sun and is held till ~14:00. It offers a lot of cheap garments of questionable origin ;-), but also absolutely great selection of fruits, vegetables, fish, cheese, meat etc. for great prices. I.e. cherries here are 1-2EUR a kilo, where next to the famous fish market more in the centre the prices are 3-4 EUR per kg.

Mon-Sat breakfast is organised in one of the coffee and cake joints in the vicinity - you get a coupon from the owner and exchange it for a croissant and coffee, seems like there is not really a limit of time when you can do it. On Sun the croissants are delivered to the nice common kitchen area, where there is also capsule espresso machine available to the guests all the time. Milk, water, juice and some biscuits or other packed cakes are there as well.

There is a fridge for common use, though guests tend to leave things there and it could have use a little bit of attention from the staff, as those are simply lying there getting spoiled.

All in all this place offers good value for the price and overall nice experience. Location and comfort - two main selling points here.

Strategic position to get around and experience Catania. Charming market.

Central location very convenient to reach the main places of interest, well furnished room, comfortable bed, large bathroom. The area is a bit noisy because above the famous market that is there every day and there are also several places open until late in the evening. The only thing I did not like was the fact that on arrival we were greeted by the cleaning lady who, although very kind, did not know how to give us much information. The first morning we also skipped breakfast because we didn't know they brought fresh croissants and going out early there was nothing besides the fact that things for warming the milk were dirty (but this will be the fault of rude guests who burned the milk and they didn't bother to clean up) so we went to the bar to get it for a little bit expensive.
