Where to stay in Catania

Very centrally located. Shared toilets and bathroom. Accessible only via stairs to the 3rd floor.

I stayed for two nights at the BB Bella Stella in Catania on 13 and 14 April 2024, and had a very pleasant stay: a large, bright room, a very clean bathroom and a friendly owner who was happy to talk about the heritage of this beautiful Sicilian city.

Handily located small, comfy well equipped and run B&B, close to station, airport bus, restaurants and short walk to city centre, great breakfast at the cafe/bar round the corner. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area was useful for eat at home dinners. Our hosts were helpful & around most days. Highly recommend!!

The hostess was lovely- very helpful. My only problem was that I locked myself in the bathroom and for 1 and 1/2 hours couldn’t work out how to unlock the door. Very traumatic as no one else was on the premises.

Quiet. Clean. Convenient location.

It was a hotel suitable for the price. The remote control for the air conditioner didn't work, but it was a tolerable cold, so it wasn't a problem. The hotel is difficult to check in for those who don't have WhatsApp.

BnB in the heart of Via Etnea. Prices in the norm given the location. Spacious rooms and adequate cleaning. The only thing where we found ourselves wrong is the agreement with the relative bar, they gave me a cannoli the day before (paid separately) and the customer tends to be consumed really quickly, I found it disrespectful. The reception ladies are friendly and nice. I recommend it for the location...

The location is perfect, in the center or the città near to manu restaurants and shops. The room is big and clean

Adding on to the staff and management being accommodating, the room we stayed in was lovely! The room decor was so beautiful and modern! I especially loved the artwork! The bed was very comfortable and we were very thankful to have A/C especially since it was very hot in the city! The breakfast was delicious and really convenient! 5 stars!!!

I was already excited to tour the island of Sicily. However I didn’t expect such an outstanding service from our host, Alfio. No matter the time, he was quick to answer all my phone calls and provided me with immediate service. The host is very very accommodating, friendly and fast to reply. The room was spacious and clean. The bed is very comfortable. It is a good place to stay for few nights to explore the lively Catania city. Catania is very nice city with great food, parks and everything is a lot more affordable compared to Milan. Came back to Sicily for the holidays and had to stay at this B&B once again! The staff are always so nice here and my room was excellent! There was a new cafe for breakfast but it was so good! This is officially my go to place anytime I visit Catania! Once again, thank you Alfio and Elia for being so kind!

We immediately felt pampered to find the swans-like towels on the bed. Large, comfortable, clean room. Even the truly impeccable bathroom and the breakfast bar was the icing on the cake!

Spotless and well equipped B&B. It has a washing machine and dryer. The excellent location just a few minutes from the center of Catania. The guy was very nice and helpful, he came to meet us in everything. When we return to Catania we will know where to stay.

The rooms are a little older than they look in the pictures, but the position is excelent.

Very good hotel and perfect service. Breakfast just 5 Euro an it is Amazon. A lot of fresh fruit and delicious croissant, juice, yogurt. Very good view to the city, close to a lot of good restaurants.

What an amazing place! - very nice breakfast with fresh pastry and red orange juice, fruits and coffee. - very well placed in the city center near bus station that took us to the sea and near historical monuments - room was big, clean, confortable. I travelled with 2 small children. The staff made our stay unforgettable. Thank you for everything!

Sweetest ladies in Sicily to help you with everything. Big nice room with ac. Bathroom a bit outdated but working fine. Simple but great breakfast served at the table because of covid. Right in the center of Catánia.

Large, well equipped and much more clean than average rooms, simple but functional furniture. Excellent location for visiting the city. Sore points: poor management to say the least and little attention to the customer. Certainly not one of those places where you feel "pampered". Breakfast included but lacking any comfort.

Good structure in a good location, shame about the management, lacking where it would be served and rude to the limits of rudeness in the solution of overbooking. Very sad breakfast, only three pods of coffee for the entire structure ... voluntary lack to force the use of the paid dispenser? If I ever return to Catania, I would definitely look for other solutions.

All excellent and taken care of in the smallest details. We took the Suite with the Jacuzzi, an excellent structure, all very clean, very elegant and perfect furnishings. hot tub large and comfortable. The hot air pump heats up the room in no time. SELF check in but service via Whatsapp always active for any questions. Really nice. We will be back! We will be back!

Probably the best B&B I've stayed in in terms of price quality. I am already in the second week of stay (for work) and confirmed for the third. In the center of Catania. The room is comfortable and spotless with a large bathroom with a spacious shower. In the morning you can have the tranquility of having breakfast in a very elegant room. Staying here as a transit point to Syracuse and Taormina, the hotel is conveniently located near various attractions and shopping streets, though a bit far from the train station. There's a bus stop right outside, but you need to buy your tickets in advance at the tobacco shop. There's also a convenient airport bus stop where you can buy tickets on board. It is recommended not to come to this city, the streets are dirty and the hotel rooms are the only clean places in the city. The room was very big and it was the only 4-star hotel I stayed in Italy that provided disposable slippers, and they were of very good quality. I stayed in 16 4-star hotels in Italy in one month. The heating was just not enough, it was only 11 degrees at night in early April...

The hotel does not have free parking, and you need to pay to park in a nearby commercial parking lot. The description of the Ctrip booking that there is a parking lot is misleading.

Good hotel with excellent price

Nice camp. When we arrived, no one could speak english, but we managed to get what we wanted.

The rocky beach is fantastic. Several entrances into the sea. The camping is small and clean. Very Familie style. The restaurant was somehow closed. If they serve fresh pasta, this would be the ottimo!!!

Nice little campsite with a rocky entrance to the sea. While the shower were repaired we could use the ones in the bungalows which was pretty neat. There where toilet seats and even toilet paper which isn't that common for campsites in italy.

Nice and very friendly English speaking personnel, good restaurant with very tasty food. Toilet with toilet paper included and also hot water in the showers. Only disadvantage is the difficult way to get in the sea.

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Catania. The campsite felt very safe and the facilities were basic and clean, although the toilet paper wasn’t kept topped up. The showers are outdated however. We camped in the small area for tents, the ground was hard but that didn’t bother us. Pretty basic facilities, a bit noisy even during the night. However hot shower is included unlike in many other campings. The beach is easily accessible, very rocky, but there's a jumping board.

friendly and upbeat hostel,i had a great stay at the Yard Hostel, located in the heart of Catania,the staff is really kind and always helpful ,clean rooms and toilet and great outdoors, don't hesitate to stay here!

Very friendly staff. Really easy to book in. And they make great free coffee👍 Really cool design. It’s made on a old school. Rooms were really nice. We stayed in private room but didn’t hear anyone complain about the shared rooms. Perfect location. Really easy to get to markets and cool stuff nearby. Also lots of nice people there.

I personally had a nice stay. Staff was super friendly. The place is chic and hip with comfortable beds. It's centrally location walking distance from several restaurants. Johnny was so kind and helpful and keeps the place looking clean and tidy. The only down side is that the bar is downstairs and gets pretty loud. However, if you are young and wanting to mingle its the perfect place.

This place is just absolutely an amazing. As exterior as interior are super clean and creating wonderful cosy welcoming atmosphere where your holiday can really be called a real holiday. Place is clean ! Safe! And the beds are huge and super comfy!!!!!! The staff puts thy heart and soul into this place and they work hard to keep the high standards up and it shows !!!! Absolutely phenomenal place. Massive bed space and spacious rooms. Cleaned bathrooms. Amazing vibe at the bar. Made some very nice friends here. I wish my stay was longer. Will definitely make more visits again to this place.

I really enjoyed this hostel, great experience staff were really friendly and approachable. Breakfast was great and the pasta in the evening, the hostel is well situated in the centre of Catania. Local bus station is about 3 min walk and plenty to do in the area.

Perfect location with free breakfast and pasta for dinner. As the hotel is in the center, it’s very noisy at night, but it’s not the problem for me. There’s some smell from the toilet tube, but I know it’s normal for an old building. Overall, I think it’s the best choice for me to stay in Catania!

If travelling is about experiences, then this place has been an amazing experience for the whole family! A beautiful place in the best location of Catania with So caring and happy staff. One of the best hostels ive ever stayed in., Right in the centre of beautiful Catania, a wonderful old building, a former grand house, with original painted ceilings. An enormous female dorm with 3 balconies!!!. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were great. A fabulous rooftop bar for an Aperol (or Limoncello) spritz in the evening. I really hope I can return one day.

Location, not only in the city centre but a lovely building. The hostel has a good vibe that I attribute to the excellent, helpful, staff that work there. Cleanliness is good. Roof top bar is stunning with a great view of Mt Etna. Love to stay there again!
