Tenuta Pizzogallo in Amelia

Location was incredible, amazing views and far enough from the closest town to feel remote without being miles and miles.

You knew you were in Italy, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Veronica the perfect host. Nice room, nice bathroom. Certainly enough space. We would have loved to have stayed longer but our schedule wouldn't permit. I give this stay the highest recommendation.

In recent years I have spent pleasant moments with my family at the PIZZOGALLO restaurant; it was the restaurant where to spend various ceremonies and important family moments: birthdays, confirmation, wedding ...

Always attentive, courteous and helpful management combined with the excellent quality of the cuisine and not least the beauty of the place, made the Pizzogallo Restaurant a pleasant place to spend our festive days.

Yes, they did. Unfortunately, on the last few occasions, probably after a change of management, it has never been the same. Without prejudice to the quality of the cuisine which has remained unchanged, the same cannot be said of the service and management of the restaurant, especially by the new owner.

In fact, on the last two occasions, in September 2022, we have found a cold and calculating management.

Two examples for all:

1- in the case of a lunch of 50 people a few weeks before, they were asked to eliminate the cost of the aperitif and one euro was removed from the total cost of the lunch, subsequently when they were asked to re-enter the aperitif item the cost increased to three euros.

2- The request if in case the lunch had lasted in the afternoon they needed an addition of two hundred euros per hour.

This comment is not intended to be a mere criticism but an invitation to reflection addressed to those who, having taken over the new management, while understanding the difficult moments of our economy, aim only at the economic interest, even knowing that they are dealing with a customer, a loyal customer.

This client will also treasure the treatment received on other occasions close to this episode such as a birthday and a wedding. This customer will not return to cross the threshold of the "Pizzogallo" and will not be able to recommend it as warmly as he did in the past.
With regret, while feeling that they are due, I write these words because the restaurant enjoys a privileged position on the splendid Umbrian countryside and the dishes have the goodness of home.
