Hotel Aganoor in Castiglione del Lago

I booked the hotel for 5 days on a half-board basis. The location is ideal in Castiglione. The room was large enough for a triple, which the hotel provided. It was clean and overall OK. The only downside is the total lack of staff to contact for any requests, perhaps because everyone was busy in the restaurant on the ground floor, which absorbed everyone. The restaurant was a sore point: the breakfasts were limited, and I wasn't satisfied with the croissants and cakes. On the first evening, after having us sit down and waiting for almost 20 minutes, the menu arrived, which included either a first course or a second course. Either pizza + appetizer or appetizer + main course - according to the staff... Overall, we didn't enjoy the dinner. On the second evening, we were left at the door with the kind lady at the restaurant who didn't read our menu but eventually managed to find us a "hole"... We ordered two pizzas with appetizers, the potatoes were brought without oil or salt... inedible, and the pizzas were awful. The next morning, we spoke with the staff at the hotel who agreed to cancel the half-board, deducting it from the total amount, and just do B&B.

Great hotel located right in the castle. Very cozy, wonderful roof terrace overlooking the lake, and there is a common living room where you can make tea and so on. Comfortable, clean, modern room, everything you need is there. Very good and tasty breakfasts. Excellent and very friendly staff. There are many bars and restaurants around, the lake is very nice. 100% Recommended!
