If one is looking for a healthy continental breakfast such as is now found in many hotels in Italy, this breakfast is probably not for you. It was strong on chocolate and sweet cakes but short on fresh salads. The hotel location is very good, on a bus route from the station. Hotel staff were excellent with advice on how to reach the old city and they sell the bus tickets.
Breakfast was interesting but not healthy. Parking was great. Bus service was right outside the door connecting to escalator in the old town. Bed was very hard and pillows were flat terrible sleep. Room was quiet.
We were excited for the theme of the hotel, and the breakfast in the mornings were incredible! Massive buffet with huge assortment of foods, many chocolate themed. Also lots of space for everyone to sit, not cramped at all. The decor in the rooms was fine, but a bit dated. We ate at the restaurant for supper on the first night (we were there two nights), and while the food was excellent, the service...
We are delighted with our stay, the first impression is already great. Delicious and wonderful breakfast, well-kept hotel, clean and nice rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. You can leave your luggage before check-in. Good location, close to the mini metro. I hope to visit again someday.
The service and breakfast were both good. It was not too far from the station, so it was within walking distance. And they gave me welcome chocolates as a service, which was very impressive.
The entire hotel has a unique atmosphere and good service

Great if you have a car. Easy drive to Assisi. Good breakfast and large rooms and facilities. Indoor pool. Really comfortable. Easy drive to historic Assisi, there are 2 large parking lots with great access. Larger than hotels close
My experience at this hotel was simply perfect. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted by incredibly friendly and professional staff. The room was impeccable: spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated. The cleanliness was excellent, and the incredibly comfortable bed ensured a restful sleep after a busy day. AAA+++ recommended
Good quality facility. Competent and helpful staff. Excellent international breakfast. Very positive experience. Highly recommended!
We arrived at night, and in the room, only the entrance light switched on automatically. The floor and desk lamps were unplugged and had to be plugged in the dark before switching on. The floor lamp had no switch and wouldn’t turn on after getting plugged in. Bedside lamps had switches. Garbage can was under a head level shelf. Almost seriously injured myself throwing something in the garbage when...
A nice enough hotel that puts it's guest on the eastern extreme of the historic city, but still well within easy walking distance of all you'd want to see in this beautiful city.
A lovely hotel atop Assisi with grand views. Short on amenities. Restaurant not open for lunch and nothing in walking distance.

Umbria, Perugia, Via Ruggero D'Andreotto, 19 🧭 Map
"Hotel Giò exceeded expectations! The rooms were spotlessly clean with incredibly comfortable beds for a great night’s sleep. The staff were remarkably friendly and helpful throughout. I loved the breakfast, which was both delicious and plentiful. The perfect stay—especially with the amazing wine and jazz vibe!"
Nice, clean rooms with a very good breakfast. Very helpful staff and a really good restaurant.
We absolutely loved this hotel. Its a business hotel but with a lot of character. The breakfast is great and the jazz player in the room is really cool. Lovely garden to enjoy a drink as well. We took the mini metro to the old town (great recommandation) which was simple, safe , cheap and easy. We walked back with no issue at all.. Perugia is a fantastic city and this is a great hotel to use as a base
Quirky Jazz themed hotel, while pets welcome he was not allowed in any of the eating areas and no option but to eat elsewhere. Pool is small. 20 mins Steep walk 2 Perguia cento, which is worth it.
It definitely needs some renovation, the bed mattress was our big issue as in some part of the bed you could feel the springs so we weren't able to have a good sleep any of the days that we were staying there, the breakfast buffet was really good, lots of option.
very interesting hotel, comes with a jazz and music theme. The room is a bit old but some redecoration, it's okay.

Great location historical site
The director should organize a meeting soon to straighten out the behavior of certain employees ... especially at the reception! The 4 stars are seen above all by the elegance that you receive
Hotel located in the historic center therefore excellent location. Overall excellent stay very clean room, only flaw for being a 5 star, I would have preferred rooms with better care in the furnishings ... from the bathroom came a bad smell of sewer not at all pleasant! The small but pleasant spa they should add more seats in the pool area and change the tone of the lights, in my opinion too cold ...
This hotel is in the perfect location in Perugia. It is just at the edge of city center, making everything convenient. Several times during our stay we just took strolls up to the fountain area. Perugia itself as a tourist area didn’t seem like much at all. We used it as out base for touring the area but if we were to do it again we would not stay in that city. The hotel rooms are large and the beds...
It was brilliant, great location, great service. Breakfast was to die for, spaghetti was best i have tasted anywhere in the world and the pool is brilliant
Pros: Great location at the end of the main pedestrian walking street and opposite the Rocco Paolina. Hotel has amazing views, very friendly breakfast staff, attentive concierges who take the car to and from the garage efficiently. Rooms nice. Bed very comfortable. Stayed in room 234. Cons: Breakfast offering was pretty good but some of the 'hot food' was cold by 8am so not very desirable. Shower...

Loved this little place. Was the absolute perfect spot to stay and explore Assisi. Staff was awesome. Will definitely stay again.
Booked a superior room for two nights expecting a window with a view and beautiful furnishings according to the website and advertised photos, but on arrival we were given a room that was very dated and didn't match the advertised room. When we asked for a different room, we were told the hotel was booked full. However, they promised to move us to a new room for the second night when a large party...
I cant wait to go back! I loved every minute of my stay there. I was treated like family. Carlo and Ana , I miss you guys! I traveled solo so I got the room for one person, with the best view I've seen in my life. Breakfast was great, the place is so beautiful, few steps from the Piazza. Thank you Hotel Umbra. Io ritornero! Anamaria
Lovely breakfast, friendly hotel staff that helped us book a taxi to Assisi train station, comfortable stay in Assisi
I came across this recommendation for Hotel Umbra after stumbling across the CatholicsTravelersGuide blogsite when doing research for my trip to Assisi - I am so glad that I did! My mom and I loved the place. Our trip to Assisi was magical and this hotel made us feel right at home. It has the historic & quaint charm of what you associate with Francescan times, which made the trip that much more unique...
Hotel Umbra is super convenient and cozy! The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything, so you can explore easily. Rooms are clean, and comfy. Staff are friendly and helpful, always making you feel welcome. The breakfast is one thing that can be improved though.

Room was clean. Staff were nice and friendly. The location is about 2 miles away from center of Assisi. Need to buy a couple of €1.3 tickets good for 80 minutes; to go in Assisi and back to hotel daily .
Excellent stay at Assisi Excellent stay at Assisi. The hotel was recently renovated and provided all the amenities we expected. The breakfast buffet was really good. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and responsive. Highly recommended.
Everything was great. The breakfast and diner were wonderful. Loved the court yard. I would highly suggest staying there.
Quick check-in as we arrived after 8 pm. Kiara went above and beyond for me when I asked for ice (which is a luxury in Italy). The room was a nice size and very clean. Breakfast was awesome and included an omelette station. Overall, it has been the nicest hotel we have stayed at over the last week in Italy. Highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel. Stay here every year. But breakfast is getting worse every year. Imagine you have to ask for coffee. They don’t have a machine that you can use how much you want
The Highlight of My Trip to Italy Staying at Hotel Cenacolo and visiting Assisi was, without a doubt, the absolute highlight of my trip to Italy. We had a wonderful 3 night stay in Italy at Sangallo. Other friends stayed here too. All 12 of us together in this hotel! I would say that the only exception to the excellence of our stay was the window view. (You can see here). All else was so excellent!
Nice and clean hotel in a good location to visit the old town of Perugia. The parking could be more comfortable. I would like to have a coffee maker in the room. There was high tech in the room: wireless charging for the phone, mood lights etc.
Best location not right in town where it’s loud but right outside town where it’s a 5 minute beautiful breath taking views and museum like escalator ride to the main city with great shops. The hotel was also very luxurious with small features as of led lighting in the bathroom and great showers. The service was also great with cleaners always walking around making sure your okay same with the front...
The hotel is ideally located for visiting Perugia. Located directly across from the bus station, which connects you to the city's airport, the hotel is close to the escalators leading to Piazza Italia, where you can explore the historic center and its main monuments. Large, clean rooms, and a generous and varied international buffet breakfast.
I was moved to this hotel when the hotel I booked was no longer available. (I never did get the reason.) It's a big, beautiful hotel in a wonderful location - very close to the escalator that goes up to the square at the top of the hill, and right next to the bus station. I assume that the price difference between the hotel I booked and the room I was put in is why I ended up in a room with very small...
This hotel is perfectly located. The rooms are large and modern. Seem recently renovated. The beds are like a rock. I like firm but these are ridiculous. Breakfast is excellent, great variety and quality of the food. Do not eat dinner in the restaurant down stairs. Unbelievably slow, and that’s being nice. I do not recommend eating at the hotel restaurant other than breakfast. We had supper at the restaurant once and it was horrible!!
Most friendly welcome and very helpful data throughout. Located on the border of the city so it requires a rather steep walk of about 20-25 minutes to get to the old city centre. This was no problem for us as we were travelling with our pet dog who needed exercise anyway. Our room was very kindly prepared to host the dog, with pillow and a treat. Very comfortable stay and recommended!
Very clean but few amenities limited dining no bar
This hotel is situated outside the main Perugia city, down a hill and a 25 minute walk from the mini metro. Its not terribly convenient for tourists. The rooms are tired. Minimal facilities with old fashioned bathrooms. We found the service OK. Not particularly helpful, expect for one assistant. Really amazing hotel. I highly recommend it. Super great location and pretty views. I couldn’t get the heat to turn off, so I was very hot at night but I am sure they will adjust that as the summer closes in.
Beautiful property, great staff!
Wonderful hotel. Incredible art. Like sleeping in a museum. The staff was top notch!
Excellent stay at this hotel! The location is ideal, just a short walk from Gubbio's historic old town, a breathtaking medieval walled city. The rooms were fantastic, and the hotel itself has a unique atmosphere, almost like staying in a museum.
This was such a beautiful hotel + setting! The grounds are so serene. We felt very well cared for while here. We were 2 adults + 1 child in a room, they even set out an extra kids robe for my son which he got such a kick out of. The pool was pretty cool, our son enjoyed playing and swimming there. beautiful corner room with balcony & views of the Basilica & Assisi countryside. Nice lounge / bar area and outside terrace with splendid views. All staff- front desk, bar, cleaning- all fruendly & helpful. I will only stay here on my return visits.
The breakfast was amazing! Lots of bread and cheese to try. The waffle was soft and fluffy. Fruits - both fresh and candied. Coffee maker was neat- good cappuccino and latte! The room has amazing view. We had a wonderful stay.
In the heart of Assisi with great views. Staff was great but the restaurant was not to par.
The room was small but very clean. An issue we had with the bed was quickly taken care of. The breakfast and whole atmosphere in this beautiful setting was wonderful. We would stay here again!

According to Ctrip, this is a newly renovated hotel acquired by Hilton. Upon checking in, I was indeed impressed by the brand-new facilities and excellent service. The location is also incredibly convenient, right at the intersection of a restricted traffic zone. It was the most satisfying hotel during my entire month-long trip.
Cloud Lounge at the La Rosetta Hotel (Hilton) is a beautiful, refined space that perfectly complements Perugia’s historic charm. The hotel itself is elegant and welcoming, making the lounge an ideal place to relax and unwind after exploring the city. Emanuele is the true highlight. His mezcal cocktails were outstanding — thoughtful, balanced, and clearly the work of a master craftsman. Beyond the...
After reading several bad reviews, we were disappointed. Completely unjustified. Yes, the building is old, it could probably use a lick of paint and the furniture in the lobby cannot be called new. We think the service is excellent. There is always someone at the reception. Our bed turned out to be sagging, no problem at all, we were given another room, we were allowed to leave the things in the room...
Chosen for one night, passing through, given the privileged position at the beginning of the pedestrian area. Extremely far from a four star - the furnishings of the room are truly disheartening - it also has numerous deficiencies in cleanliness, a detail that has nothing to do with the age of the property, perhaps more with excessively distracted management. Sin!
Strong point: the location right at the beginning of the very convenient pedestrian area. Weak points are the breakfast (the choice doesn't expand much) and the lack of a shower tray (bathtub) in the room. The structure and furnishings are very dated. Fair price.
Let me start by saying that I cannot judge the restaurant because we did not have dinner at the hotel. The positive thing about the location is the breakfast. Negative noise throughout the night, cleanliness of the room full of cobwebs, very uncomfortable bed. Sin

Perusia Hotel lays about 20 minutes from the historic city center of Perugia. The 24/24 reception was very friendly, helpful and spoke English. Which shouldn't be taken for granted in Italy. The room was very clean, quiet and rather spacious. The included breakfast contained both salty as sweet treats and gave you sufficient energy for exploring the city afterwards.

Wonderful Hotel, with lovely clean room and amazing rooftop views from our balcony, and within walking distance from the main attractions, great experience!!!
Nice hotel, first time here. Helpful staff, good breakfast. Near a nightclub, so not the quietest place on a Friday or Saturday night, but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. Clean, comfortable rooms and reasonable prices.
Grand Hotel Italia apparently just opened, and it was a fantastic experience! It's a beautiful hotel with knowledgeable and friendly staff, oversized rooms, and upgraded bathrooms. They kept some of the most beautiful parts of the old hotel, including the lobby and staircases, but everything else is totally new. The hotel breakfast was amazing--the waffles had the freshest, most incredible berry compote...
We were met by a gentleman who's name is Maurice,  he gave a lot of information and advised on places of interest and great significance to the area. We later checked in, got to our room and although it seems old it is very comfortable and spacious. We also have a large bathroom with a double shower. Breakfast buffet was lovely,  plenty of variety. The Accommodation has an elevator which is a winner...
The view from the balcony was amazing and the staff there were so friendly and helpful. There are lots of stairs (if you're on the top floor especially), so if you're like us and have heavy luggage then it'll be challenging. But beyond that, it was wonderful and I highly recommend this hotel (and the restaurant next door!)
The property was fantastic, very comfortable, nice amenities, in the middle of the city, and amazing staff.
