Hotel Umbria in Perugia

I stayed here back in october and recently when i came back it was fully booked so took their apartment instead. It felt cozy, warm and everything was super clean.

Hotel Umbria is in a great spot in the old town. Very friendly owner who made the best cappuccino I’ve had in Italy! Lovely clean rooms & hot shower.

This was a great hotel to stay within the old walls of the Roman city of Perugia (Umbria, Italy). Very good price; excellent breakfast for €4 each and nice bathroom with very hot water. Lot of steps into the main square but very worth it.

Staff is great. Room is small but clean. Location is foot access only.

People, this is a 50ies gem. Don’t compare to other places, Hotel Umbria is unique, is historic, and extremely well-kept. The place breathes history while it’s impeccably clean, friendly and unpretentious. Recommended!

Some of the reviews left are inaccurate and I can say must come from people who don’t appreciate the real authentic Perugia. The hotel is charming and just off the main area. Yes it’s a bit of a steep walk up to it but you are in old town which is a maze of interesting walkways on a hill! What do you expect? The bathrooms are perfectly appointed. I am not small and I could fit fine into the shower, the bathroom was no smaller than what you expect. As for the person that commented on the carpet on the stairs, it was beautiful. The room we had “23” was a perfectly adequate double room with a cute window. The staff are kind and welcoming. We loved to stay here. It was charming and comfortable. The location sensational. If you want to stay in a soulless modern hotel this is not for you, and probably Perugia is not for you either. Wonderful stay!!

We loved our stay at Hotel Umbria. Our room was very quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast was super, and for only 4 Euros, you couldn't do better. The location was super, close to restaurants and historic sights. Best of all, the staff was amazing! Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

This is a charming, good value for money, friendly little hotel located just 5 or so minutes from the main pedestrianised central area of Perugia's old town. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus terminal (the train station is much further away, but there are city buses that connect the terminal to the old town). If driving, there are car parks nearby. Despite being so centrally located in the old town, it is very quiet and I slept really well the two nights I stayed here. The hotel staff are super helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Great water pressure and lots of hot water in the shower (but it has to be the tiniest shower cubicle I've ever been in - making the bathroom a shower wet room would be the solution). It has a cosy breakfast room and a charming little terrace as well (open in the warmer months). I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Umbria!

It was a pleasant stay at ,,Hotel Umbria’’. Only the best reviews from us. The staff was very friendly and polite and rooms were super clean. The receptionist always asked if we wanted breakfast and helped us with everything. We felt so welcomed there.

A really well placed two star hotel about two minute walk from the main area near the square/museum etc. We were there for the jazz festival and it was very hot about 36 degrees. The hotel provided fans for each room which helped somewhat. Breakfast was good with fresh coffee made by the owners. The owner , his brother and the rest of the staff were very attentive and provided advice and information as required. The hotel also has a fridge in reception selling water, soft drinks and alcohol. The other thing to note to get to the lower end of town is that there are underground escalators which is a great plus particularly in the hot weather !
