Classique in Lazise

Bar only; The terrace boasts a truly spectacular lakeside view, easily one of the best in Lazise. It’s a shame that the drinks and service didn’t live up to the setting, particularly given the premium prices. Avoid the hot chocolate!

Great view, food was 7 out of 10 but the service was shocking. Very bad. The wait staff were grumpy like they didnt want to be there. Took so long to get a drink, then we asked for dessert menus and they took 20 mins and still nothing so we left.

Let’s be bluntly honest about this restaurant as a person who has worked in hospitality all over the world and holds standards to service and good food.

After reading the mixed reviews we decided to give it a try, we were early in the evening so a table for four was set very quick which was nice, menu’s already on the table but after waiting 15 minutes for someone from the service to come by we finally asked for someone to come.

Order in, let’s enjoy; at least that’s what we thought!

After serving a hot pasta ordered as a starter first (forgetting the cold starters) we waited again for around 5/10 minutes to get someone’s attention to ask where our other food was, the waiter who finally came by said he would get them!
He did! The sad thing was to see his colleague come by 2 minutes later with exact same dishes.

Starters were as expected as orderded, pasta was cold by the time the cold starters came.

Main dishes? Where should I start..
A mushroom pasta smothered in butter and fat, mushrooms not properly cleaned, steak ordered medium/rare came with a pulse left in his t-bone, other pasta was blend and the other steak? Well do I really need to say?

Service; in the 1.5 hours we had been there not one smile, all in a hurry, almost throwing the plates on the table, constantly mocking in Italian and being somewhat irritated.

All in all an experience to never forget but sadly for all the wrong reasons!

You pay for the view, but not for the food. We had to wait 1,5 hours for a table while they said “20minutes”, i had to add olive oil to the potatoes to give them some taste and my glass of wine (9 euros) was almost empty when received. Great disappointment.
