We confirm last year's overwhelmingly positive review. The only difference this time is that the only available room was the most luxurious! A dream!

We went to eat at the restaurant, our bread was stale and my carbonara came out in 2 minutes flat and was pretty cold and tasteless. My mistake for ordering mains with the starter. Staff didn’t ask how the meal was when plates were cleared still full. Only eat here if you want to be trolley disappointed and over charged for cold, tasteless slop.

Worst meal of our vacation, ordered monkfish, when he presented the meal he said” your cod” two tiny bony fish. Politely told him I had ordered the monkfish and he replied, “ oh that’s monkfish” it wasn’t. Tiniest fish portion I’ve received anywhere. I would avoid this place. Should have known when there were so few people there compared to neighboring restaurants, walk on by.

24 hours in Venice!
Fantastic stay in Hotel Marte.
Walkable from the train station.
Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They even held onto our bags after we’d checked out.
Hotel is clean and comfortable.

Booked this by chance and glad we did. Fantastic location, easily accessed from the airport boat. Staff were so helpful, rooms clean if basic but to be honest apart from sleeping n showering we were hardly in the room. Didn’t have breakfast preferring to eat in the go. No issues with recommending this hotel and would definitely return.

What a shame because the location is lovely BUT Disgusting food! Our first meal in Venice and it was awful. Unappetising and expensive! We had 2 soft drinks and 2 appetisers 43euro. The bread was stale and what restaurant in Venice serves disgusting olives? Very wrong!!

It was with a bit of trepidation that we turned up at Hotel Marte having read a few of the reviews from earlier years. We need not have worried as we were very comfortable here. It was easy to find and only a few blocks from the station. The main door is directly onto the front of the street - it looks pretty ordinary - and we were buzzed in by reception. In the lobby you are faced with about 15 carpeted stairs to reach the reception desk which is a bit of a challenge but we made it ok and the staff are certainly willing to help if asked. There is a properly installed stair lift for wheelchair bound guests. Check in was easy. We found that our room did not have a kettle but as soon as I mentioned this the receptionist brought us a tray with kettle, cups and spoons to keep in our room for the duration. The room was clean and looked quite luxurious. The bed was huge and comfortable and there was room to slide suitcases beneath it. There were separate chairs and a small table to sit at so we did not have to lounge on the bed the whole time. The hotel serves breakfast but to be honest it's a bit pricey for what you get (Coffee/tea, fruit, cereal and pastries). There are lots of cafes nearby to get a cappuccino and breakfast instead. We chose not to go on the Ferrovia boats and everywhere was within a decent walk, but there is a Ferrovia stop on the water just opposite the hotel. One tip you might find useful is that half way between the station and the hotel, and again from the hotel just beyond the Ponte Guglie there are Despar supermarkets well stocked with super produce if you fancy buying your own breakfast/lunch/supper.

Clean quiet modern hotel in good situation.
Very comfy hotel in an excellent situation - only 10 minutes walk from the station in one direction and the St Marcuola vaporetto stop in the other [Lines 1 & 2] and 5 from the Guglie vaporetto and alilaguna stop. [lines 4 & 5]

Modern and clean, and very quiet considering its situation, surrounded by bars and restaurants. Small problem that the lift only starts at the first floor not ground floor level. Otherwise no complaints.

Very centrally located. On a bridge - at a Vaparetto stop, also Alliguana stop for boats from airport. 10 minute walk to train station - no bridges on the walk to the train. Lots of great restaurants near. Lots of shops. Very walkable. 18 minute walk to Rialto. Able to accommodate family of 3 with a triple room.
