Worth every penny, beside the awesome amenities I was led to expect from description, the staff was also extremely welcoming and went the extra mile - the proprietess even drove us to the train station in the morning.

Really lovely location. Best part is the private onsen. Pick up the key for private onsen from reception if it’s there and use for up to 30 mins at a time. Go back again as much as you like. It’s a really really hot spring, but there’s a cold water tap and it’s really tranquil and pretty.

We had a fabulous stay. The staff were incredibly welcoming and incredibly accommodating of our young family. The private onsen was absolutely dreamy. We particularly enjoyed the traditional breakfast and thoughtful touches such as tea on arrival.

I genuinely cannot recommend this place more! If you’re thinking about staying in the town to try all the hot springs , or traveling to see the snow monkeys this by far is the best Ryokan in town! The public bathhouse was broken, so we couldn't shower at all, which was terrible. We had to resort to soaking in the private hot spring instead. Reception helped us proactively for the very late check-in at 10:30pm. The room fixture and hotel facilities are old but within my expectation in that area and price range. It had an Onsen on sight which was nice. It’s a nice place and close to station. The beds are basically mattresses (futons) on the floor. This means very firm so for those who need more padding like my old body it can be a stiff night of sleep. Staff very friendly and for the money for 5 people it was great

Everyone on staff made us feel welcome from the start. Aziz and both ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and lovely people. We will always remember them abs their friendliness and how nice our stay was. Will stay here again. The onsen is fabulous!

The staff could speak English very well and patient to help us with the private onsen bookings. There was also a shuttle bus from Yudanaka station to the hotel. This is a very nice, historic hotel in the hot spring town. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and the meals are plentiful. There are eight hot spring options available on-site, including two outdoor ones, which is fantastic.

Polite and helpful staff, there was an excess of wonderful food and a great view. Our room was clean and spacious but a little dated with an unusable stove that could be removed for luggage storage. The rooms are all on the B1 floor. The corridor is dark and a bit depressing. Fortunately, each room has a window and a view of the courtyard. It may be because of the hillside. The hot spring bathroom is small and good.
