Great location close to all the small public baths. A bit far from the main station but still walkable or reachable by bus. The room is clean and cozy with very old Ryokan vibes. The hotel itself has a private bath and public bath with shower. Not very clean but ok. I guess depends on what time you use it. The breakfast is nice and simple, really enjoyed it. You can walk to the monkey park from here
The hotel had a Showa-era feel to it, but there was a kotatsu and a kerosene stove in the room, so it didn't feel that cold, but my family said it was cold. It may vary from person to person. There were nine outdoor baths around the hotel, and as a hot spring lover, I really enjoyed them. They were supposed to be quite hot, but it was fine for me. It was cold in February, but it was nice to be able...
I was able to stay cheaply in the hot spring town. This was enough for a night without meals, and I was able to visit 9 hot springs in the town. The building and facilities are a little old, but it has a Showa-era feel to it.
The food was good and the hot spring culture in the town was great, but the hotel was too cold in winter. Very traditional hotel
Room was cold after the oil heater ran out in the middle of the night. The oil heater was not enough for the whole night during the winter time and the hot water in the sink was not working.
The room is clean and tidy, and the Japanese breakfast is delicious

Awesome location for visiting Jigokudani Park (snow monkeys in hot springs) but otherwise isolated. The room was very spacious, especially considering i was a solo traveler. The private onsen attached to the room was unexpected and must appreciated. The food was the highlight of my 2 night stay. I'd been to other food forward ryokans elsewhere before and while they were fancier, the food at Jinpyokaku...
An atmospheric old inn of great charm! My room was a comfortable, well maintained and had great style. I loved the private onsen bath. Dinner and breakfast were a real highlight with a mix of local beef specialties cooked at the table and delicious vegetable dishes. Did I mention drinks are free? How civilised is that? Finally, I found the staff an absolute delight. Helpful, considerate and most thoughtful...
My husband and I stayed here 4 nights for our honeymoon, and we are so glad we did. The stay includes a private kaiseki dining experience for breakfast and dinner. The food was locally sourced and fresh, and they were able to accommodate a pescatarian diet. I can’t speak highly enough of the service- they went above and beyond to make everything perfect, and the care they put into each dining experience...
I had an excellent two-night stay here and would highly recommend it. The service was genuinely outstanding—some of the best I’ve experienced. When a taxi booking to Shiga Kogen fell through due to heavy snow, the owner personally drove me there, which I deeply appreciated. He also printed out the bus schedule and made sure I knew exactly how to get back. That level of care really stood out. The...
Tradional ryoken with onsen, right near snow monkey park. The people running this place are nicest and most helpful people. They were welcoming and really elevated our stay. The rooms were warm and confortable. The onsen was relaxing. The ambience of the entire place was just right. Would heartily reccomend.
Very nice room, very hot and good Springs and so kind housekeeper.

nice location, stayed there for 2 days… got free amenities at the lobby and free to use pajamas if u forgot to bring yours..
Its just a walk away to Nagano Station.. very Clean Hotel and the Staff are so friendly and helpful. i would definitely book here again when we come back.
Very convenient location, perfect for a short stay
The location is very convenient in walk distance and surrounding by many restaurants. The hotel clean and staffs are very friendly and helpful. Love this hotel.
A 3-star hotel conveniently located near Nagano train station. It's small but comfortable and was clean.
The location is fantastic! It's just a short walk to Nagano Station, and there's a Lawson convenience store less than a five-minute walk downstairs. The hotel provides amenities like a microwave and drinks, and they also offer luggage storage. The room was clean, comfortable, and tidy. Highly recommend!

Toyoko Inn Nagano Station Zenkoji, Nagano1 / 30
8.6
Nagano, 1315-8, Minami-ishidou-cho 🧭 Map
Abit far from train station, walking distance like 400m. Spacious room, as we've booked twin room. Friendly staff who always help us with location and luggage storage. Tq
Great hotel, so close to the station, excellent location if you're interested in visiting the snow monkeys
The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Nagano Station, with plenty of shopping options nearby, including Don Quijote. I stayed for 2 nights, and it was very quiet. The room was standard Toyoko Inn style, and the breakfast was good! It's also convenient for visiting nearby Togakushi and the Snow Monkey Park!
The hotel is very near to Nagano station, convenient to travel around. Pretty far away from Zenkoji temple, about 40min walk but can opt for train. Just take note that check out time is 10am.
The location is super convenient, really close to the subway, making it easy to get anywhere! It's my top pick for a layover. The service attitude is also great! The room is small but has everything you need, and the breakfast buffet is pretty good too!
The hotel was clean. It's close to Nagano Station, so you can easily get food supplies from places like Don Quijote or the supermarket inside the station. The only minor inconvenience was having to pick up all amenities, including the room wear, from the first floor. Other than that, I had no issues.

We made the reservation just two days before, so we didn't have high expectations, but the meal was a buffet with local dishes and we were very satisfied! Everyone in the family was happy.
This time, I chose this hotel with the sole purpose of enjoying the hotel. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath and dinner and breakfast included. Sparkling wine was provided in the room, and it was sweet, so even I, who usually don't like wine, enjoyed it very much. The buffet had a wide variety of options, both in the evening and in the morning, and I was very satisfied. The dinner menu featured...
Now Resort was very polite and kind, attentive, greeting, customer service, everything was the best. However, the room I booked through Trip was changed because it was not suitable for families. Children were not allowed. I did book a room for children. I have photos and details. In the end, I paid just under 70,000 yen in addition to the payment to Trip to change the room (;;) The room was very nice...
The hotel is clean and tidy. The hotel has excellent Onsen baths with hot spring water. You can book a separate room with a bath, this is a 24-hour service. The hotel has a shuttle service to the center of Kusatsu. We booked a stay without meals, went to the center. In the rooms they give clothes and slippers in Japanese style
When I arrived, the door was under renovation, but everything else was fine.
Although it is a little far from Yubatake, there are minibuses that shuttle back and forth every 15 minutes. The food is very good, which is a bit unexpected. The hygiene is very good, and the hot springs are both indoors and outdoors, which is a very good experience. The environment is very good. It is very close to Tenguyama Ski Resort. In addition, there are free drinks in the lobby. The hotel's...

The room was larger than I expected and I was very comfortable. The open-air bath was also very comfortable. The front desk staff were also very kind.
It wasn't a buffet, but it was delicious. I was glad that it wasn't a buffet in the morning either. I was able to enjoy my meal at my own pace.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to provide excellent service. They even arranged to pick me up from another hotel, patiently explained everything I needed to know, and made sure I felt welcomed. The room was very clean and comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. On my departure day, they kindly offered me a ride to...
As soon as you arrive at the hotel, you can feel the perfect fusion of its unique Japanese style and modern design. The lobby is spacious and bright, with exquisite decoration. When checking in, the staff was warm and thoughtful. Not only did they help me complete the formalities quickly, they also patiently introduced the hotel's facilities. Their service attitude was impeccable. The room was clean...
It was so so good!!!! It was a hotel where I could go alone and heal It was a great value for money and the dinner and breakfast were so good There was also an open-air bath If you want a value for money ryokan feel, I definitely recommend it
We enjoyed our stay a lot! Both breakfast and dinner were in kaiseke style. The hotel picked us up from bus terminal, also sent us to the nearby ski resort. The most surprising part is the staff pick us up again from the ski resort and sent us to our 2nd hotel in Kusatsu. Best service ever!

the Kinta Naeba, Yuzawa1 / 28High rating

Yuzawa, 469-91 Mikuni, Yuzawa-machi 🧭 Map
Friendly and responsive Mr Kinta. All are good, less commercial than the main hotel at resort, feel like home and cosy. Have laundry and cooking pantry, good fit for family stay. The minor thing is that the wall in room can consider a bit scratchy. Overall love the stay and will return if coming back to Naeba.
The B&B is very close to Naeba, within a ten-minute walk. If you want to take the bus from Prince Hotel, you can ask the owner to send you there. We booked a Japanese-style + private bathroom, which was well maintained, but there were no curtains on the windows, so it was very bright in the morning, and it would be noisy if other guests passed by. The B&B's large bath + hot spring pool is in the building...
The environment is very warm, Kinta san is very friendly, and the location is very convenient to the ski resort. I highly recommend it!
Acceptable For the amount we paid for the room, the amenities are not really up to the standard in Japan.
The hot bath is very hot, no one can stay in for more than 5 mins. During snowy night, the snow truck to clear the road will keep you awake all night. The old Mr Kinta tries all his way to charge you a few hundred Yen here and there while the young Mr Kinta is more honest and did not over charge us. Ski and Snowboard equipment is cheaper but certainly condition is poor. Witnessed the binding of a ski...
Kinta and his family are very great hosts. The breakfast every morning was a delight. Evening dinner meals were even better. A very warm and cozy hotel. A great little bar area. Very good rental gear. All in all an absolutely top hotel experience. 10 out of 10! We would highly recommend staying at Kinta Naeba.
