sakahijiri・gyokushoen in Izu

I stayed here as a solo traveler with no meals included.
The bath was equipped with hot spring water, but the only ventilation was from outside, so insects kept coming in.
However, bathing while basking in the sunlight streaming in from the mountain view was pleasant.

The room was spacious and I think it would be just right for two people.
The futon was double-layered and fluffy.
The comforter was also fluffy, but it made me too hot, so I wish they had provided a thin blanket as well.

The basic amenities were all there.
I was impressed that they always provided lotion and milk.
There was a yukata and haori for indoor wear, but I wish they had also provided a jinbei.

The toilet was equipped with a washlet that automatically flushes after use.
However, the toilet's hand basin was difficult to use because the water pressure was weak and I wish it had a little more force.
The washroom/changing room had good hot and cold water pressure and was spacious, so it was nice.

Meals at the inn are by reservation only.
As there is no restaurant on-site at the inn, we walked a little ways to eat out, but most of the restaurants are open irregularly so it might have been better to make a reservation with meals included.
Next time I stay, I would like to make a reservation with meals included.

A very nice Japanese-style private hot spring hotel with a private bath. The hospitality was very thoughtful, the service was polite, and the Japanese food was delicious. Special thanks to waiter Xiao Zhang for his patience and carefulness, who solved many of my problems. Highly recommended! 👏👏👏

I have a great fondness for Japanese gardens, and this guesthouse perfectly satisfied that interest. The spacious Japanese-style rooms offered panoramic sea views, and the hotel's private onsen (hot spring bath) was also ideal for relaxing alone.

I stayed at the hotel in Izu where the filming of "Go Lala Go Go" was filmed. Izu has many internet-famous hotels, but this one truly evokes the feel of a forgotten Showa-era celebrity inn. From the layout to the room decor, service, and cuisine, the hotel is every bit the high-end establishment it once was. There are hardly any Chinese residents here, only Japanese tourists on vacation. Meals are served in the rooms, and there's virtually no interaction with other guests. It's a bit like a membership-based hotel, but open to everyone. It feels like a waste not to promote this place! It's a truly niche, upscale hot spring hotel, and the prices are quite reasonable. The value is far better than the exorbitant prices of many internet-famous hotels these days. The large baths have a beautiful view, and there's also a hot spring in the room. With the added meal, we also received a free private bath for the family. Our room service was provided by an elderly lady who didn't speak Japanese, but used a translation app to communicate, giving us a truly authentic Japanese hotel experience. Forget those internet-famous places; come here and experience it; it's a guaranteed, reliable experience worth the trip. Ultimately, it's a shame not to promote this place!

A very comfortable hotel, with rich dinner and breakfast, and warm hospitality. The hot spring bathing in the room saved the elderly from the inconvenience, and the family was very satisfied.

Super nice food and room. The room super spacious with a garden and own onsen. The staff is so nice and helpful to prepare our bed sheets , breakfast and dinner. Two meals included is well served with lister and seafood. Unforgettable night. Highly recommended.
