We stayed at Gyokusui for one night in March.

The ryokan is located in a quiet, tranquil, and fairly secluded area, surrounded by nature. It features a large garden with cherry blossoms, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. A complimentary shuttle service from Izu-Atagawa Station was provided by the ryokan.

The staff member who took care of us was attentive and helpful, delivering excellent service throughout our stay.

Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The beds and pillows were particularly cozy.

The room included both an open-air bath and an indoor bath, with free-flowing hot spring water of excellent quality. We also enjoyed the rental open-air bath, which was surrounded by nature and offered a truly relaxing experience.

The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and delicious, made with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would choose Gyokusui again when visiting Shizuoka.

Wonderful hotel. Great staffs, great environment, rooms are so clean, we tried 2 different style of rooms and they both are great. Great good too. Nothing bad. Have air-con which is I really needed. I love this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Gyokusui. The ryokan was peaceful and relaxing, and the onsen was beautifully maintained and very calming. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared and we felt genuinely well looked after throughout our stay. There was also a translator with excellent English, which made everything very easy and comfortable. A lovely and tranquil experience.

Highly recommended this place to anyone who wants to experience the traditional Japanese hospitality and a peaceful retreat from busy Tokyo.

Highlights: We booked the room with private outdoor onsens. The room was spacious and elegant with views of a beautiful zen garden. The public onsen was gorgeous too. Each room also could reserve a public onsen for an hour where you can enjoy the soothing natural hot spring while surrounded by bamboo and stonework. Service here was great too. Shout out to our server Yumi who provided us with such amazing service. I appreciated how they presented each dish as a small work of art but wish the breakfast could have more food varieties other than a lot of pickles.

Overall it’s such a delightful experience and I’m looking to come back again.

It's more convenient to travel by car. It's very relaxing to look out the window. The dinner was great. The ingredients were very good and delicious. The overall experience was better. The room facilities were also very good.

The environment is very good, very Japanese. The hot springs are particularly good. It is a great experience to feel the Japanese countryside in the mountains. I will come again next time

The rooms in the hot spring hotel are very large, with an outdoor private hot spring and an indoor hot spring. The staff at the hotel were very cordial and courteous. We stayed for two nights in a row and the restaurant upgraded the dinner for us on the second night. It was really delicious and rich!

Unfortunately it was raining, but I challenged the open-air bath. It was my first experience bathing with a sedge hat on. I thought there might be something like this. The food was well presented and tasted and the service was excellent. After breakfast the next day, we took a walk through the bamboo grove and had coffee on the terrace. I could feel the spirit of hospitality in their greetings. It was a very satisfying two days. Thank you.

1 night from Friday in November. At check-in, we received matcha tea and sweets as a treat, and the women were allowed to choose a yukata. After taking a bath, enjoy the sorbet served after the bath, and enjoy the dinner (abalone dance grilled course) that has been staged (hot spring serving). After dinner, take a private open-air bath in the bamboo forest before going to bed. The next day, we took a walk in the garden, enjoyed the open-air bath in the public bath, and had a sumptuous Japanese meal. Spend a meaningful time and go home to pick up 🐩 who is staying at home. thank you for helping me.
