Rooms were clean and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay here
The rooms were a good size and very clean. Free parking is available, which is great for travelers with cars. The hotel also has a hot spring, but unfortunately we couldn't use it this time.
The location is great, with many shops nearby. I recommend staying at a hotel here.
The view was great. The front desk staff were also very friendly.
Overall it was good, but the bathroom wasn't very clean. When I was in the bathtub, I noticed mold and slime around the pipes. Other than that, it was fine.
This is a popular hotel that is always fully booked.
The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of dishes and is delicious.
And although the bath isn't particularly large, I love the panoramic view from the top floor!

Cozy yet comfortable! Will stay here again!
This time I am traveling by car to Nagano Prefecture with my family. If you don't drive by yourself, Little Water Bird Hotel is not easy to reach. Maybe April is already past the ski season. The scenery and atmosphere on the road and around the hotel are deserted and desolate. The hotel is said to have been recently renovated. So the facilities are clean and well managed. Only the sloping stairs in...
The environment is very beautiful, and you can have breakfast facing the lake view. The store owner is friendly. The only thing is that you have to climb stairs to the second floor room, so it is suitable for light luggage.

The snowy hot spring view was beautiful, and the hotel food was delicious and very healthy, great for digestion. They have private onsen baths that you can reserve for solo use, but you can only book them after check-in. So, I'd recommend arriving a bit earlier to secure a better time slot. We arrived closer to 8 PM, which was a bit late, and all the private baths for that evening were booked. We could...
This hotel is a destination in itself! It's absolutely stunning in autumn. The breakfast and dinner, a creative fusion of Japanese and Western cuisine, were delicious. Staying for two consecutive nights even gets you a complimentary lunch. The hot springs are relaxing and offer beautiful views, and the service is incredibly thoughtful. It's one of the few hotels I genuinely want to stay at again.
I'd give it more points if I could. I think this is my best experience with a hotel so far. Everything was excellent from the beginning to the end. I am in love with the place and long to be back again someday
This was my first experience at a mountain hotel with hot springs. It was a pleasant surprise to encounter staff who spoke many languages. The atmosphere was very intelligent, calm, and set the perfect mood for an unforgettable vacation. I recommend everyone stay here for at least 2-3 nights; you'll have an unforgettable experience that will make you want to return in the future. Absolutely delighted...
The place is amazing. Very relaxing and chilling. Dishes were wonderful. Bit freezing at night, but we didn’t know about the heater. So informing about the possibilities should be improved
Lovely and cozy place to relax and take a break from everyday life

I stayed here for a ski lesson at school. The rooms were spacious, had hairdryers and TVs, which was nice.
Overall, I'm satisfied! I wasn't looking for anything luxurious in the room. I liked the homey feel. Guests could purchase lift tickets for an additional 2,500 yen on top of the accommodation fee. Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style. For a bath, head to nearby Suzu no Yu!
The other day, I was taken care of by a group tour. The staff are very polite and helpful. There was a child who didn't fit the rental boots, but he immediately prepared a change, went out to the slopes, asked what was happening, and responded immediately if something happened. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was very good that it secured a large space so that it would not be crowded. The only...
Access to the ski slopes on the slopes is very good.
Many guests stay on weekends and consecutive holidays, and the reception and dining room are crowded. The food is buffeting in the morning and evening and the contents are not satisfactory for adults. Most frozen food.
The correspondence of the staff was very good.
The bath was a bath, not a hot spring.
If you go with your family, your child's lift...
Hotel facilities, room enter yearly, but are enough for sleepover as it was cleaned. Cost performance is good. The hotel staff were very pleasant.
Meals are basic buffets, but it is better not to expect the contents.
The nearby parking lot was narrow and I could not find it in a place dedicated to hotel guests. As it was frozen in the winter or there was a place for muddy after that, I would like it...
It is normal as a ski resort, but it is a negative point that there is no slope on the wide and loose slope for beginners. And the layout is not good enough for advanced users. As children below elementary school children become free when they purchase an adult's day ticket, I think it would be nice if they can slip with their children.
Please note that the parking lot is near the Yashine Hotel in...

This place was such a gorgeous hidden gem in the mountains outside of Chino. We stayed here a week and fell in love with this place and the town surrounding. As two Americans, we had no preconceived ideas of what a ryokan would be like and we were so pleasantly surprised. If you’re looking for a 5 star western experience, this isn’t the spot for you. The hotel was built in 1888 and although it’s updated...
My GF's review:
My stay in Meiji Onsen Ryokan was my first stay at a ryokan, and I’ve never felt more welcome at any other hospitality place I’ve been to before, of which there are many. And even after the first day, I am pretty sure it will probably stay this way forever.
I am very grateful for your kind welcome and I am amazed at the work that the team of your hotel does at this place. Everything...
Trational onsen. Has multiple baths. Massage also available. Personally I feel water is not hot enough for an onsen.
It's really good place to visit if you want go with your family and friends.
Great place - people who work here are kind, ryokan as must be. Delicious food!!

This hotel is so big and have more space. There is big ground where we can walk and enjoy with friend. The most beautiful part was tateshina lake we can saw from restaurant great-full views that was so amazing experience. The room was so big and comfortable and all staff were so kind .
Satisfied except for the lack of food
In order to go to the hot springs, I called the front desk and asked them to buy a small basket or bag to carry my towels and clothes from my room to the spa. I was told that there was no such service. Many other hot springs also offer services. At this hotel, you have to walk a relatively long way from your room to the hot springs while carrying towels and underwear inside the hotel! 2: I asked the...
I stayed in a dock room. Although it was on the first floor, it was a bright and spacious room with a balcony. I had stayed here with my family over 10 years ago, so I thought it was old, but it had been renovated and was beautiful. It was a dock room, so there was no dirt or dust on the floor, but it didn't seem like it had been wiped down. The dog looked cozy! The steak for dinner was very tender...

We appreciate that you always made our requests possible from the moment we made our bookings up until the time...
Very good cost-performance with a great onsen, nice breakfast and dinner buffets. The room is nice and spacious with a well-working heat system. We are here in winter and it’s conveniently located within ~40 car minutes from several good ski resorts.

Excellent value. Cheap, clean. Nice bathroom. Breakfast is good value too.
The location tends to be busy, but it's convenient.
I do find it annoying to hear people on the phone next door and, if you're on the first floor, there's a parking lot right in front of your room, so you can hear the sound of engines idling.
The breakfast buffet tastes good, but there isn't much variety, and it seems they don't have sausages every day.
I was also surprised to find a lot of vomit at...
Stayed there 3 nights during a mountain bike tour in the area. Rooms are clean and reasonably wide. Single rooms have a comfortable double-sized bed. Staff is friendly and helpful. I mistakenly booked a smoking room but they changed it without a problem or additional fee. The breakfast is simple, but enough, even if it is 70% Japanese style. You can find two types of bread, butter jam and a small toaster...

I stayed for three nights and they treated me very well.
It was very convenient that it was close to my work site.
There were several restaurants nearby, so I was able to relax and have a pleasant night.
I stayed one night on the weekend. There was free coffee in the lobby, and amenities were in the room, but you had to bring them along with your towel to the public bath. There were additional amenities in the lobby for guests staying multiple nights. The parking lot was large and the room was clean. The women's public bath was a little small, but I didn't encounter any other guests, so it wasn't a...
Everything from arrival, check-in, entering the room, and check-out was very smooth.
Breakfast had a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes.
Potato croquettes with pickled plum! They were refreshing and delicious.
Thank you ♪
I stayed here because it was still reasonably priced, even though the surrounding hotels were extremely expensive during the Obon holiday.
You get used to it after a while, but the smell in the room is quite bothersome.
Other than that, it's average.
The hotel I usually stay at was fully booked so I stayed at Route Inn. The smell is quite bothersome when you enter the room.
You get used to it after a while, but I guess there's nothing you can do about it. Breakfast is included for all guests, which is a plus.
It's of the bare minimum standard.

We stayed here after hiking Mount Kitayokodake.
There were many families with children. I've been on weekdays before, and if you choose your time carefully, the baths and restaurant aren't too crowded. The open-air bath is wonderful! It's luxurious to have it almost to yourself for most of the time.
The room we stayed in was quite old, and we found two toilet bugs. It was extremely dry, so we set...
We chose this facility because it had a large kids' area. In fact, our child played in the kids' park until the very last minute, and we were able to let him play plenty inside the facility as well.
The hot springs were incredibly clean. The open-air bath overlooking the mountain stream was very relaxing. The rooms were also clean and comfortable.
I stayed in a twin room on September 1, 2025. It was very busy with tourists, and the front desk was congested. The food buffet was more about quantity than quality, so I ended up overeating. I could hear the movement of guests on the floor above me and the sound of water leaking from the drain pipes. Water was leaking from the floor of the unit bathroom. The toilet was child-sized, and the hot water...
Nice hotel with beautiful hot springs. Both dinner and breakfast were great, although quite a lot of people. Also, it’s a family hotel, so if you don’t like being surrounded by children, cannot recommend.
The price seemed a little high because it was summer vacation, and the room was small and not very nice.
Both the buffet dinner and breakfast (first thing in the morning as they get crowded) were delicious and very satisfying! The large public bath and open-air bath were easy to use and relaxing. Our room (a Japanese-style room on the fifth floor) had a dated feel, and we could hear the sounds from the next room, but we just had to be careful. The staff were all very kind, and it was a very comfortable...

The rooms come with kitchens. The annex has a spa and pool, making it easy to get around. There are no convenience stores nearby, so you'll need to buy food at the station. Tokyu Resort across the street is a 5-minute walk away. You can eat desserts and pizza toast at the cafe until 4pm.
The restaurant and front desk staff provided the best hospitality.
I was a little disappointed that the massage machine in the relaxation area near the bath and the coffee in the lobby had to be paid for, but I was satisfied because the staff were so friendly.
This mountain resort is very serene. Lots of walking paths through the forest and down to the duck pond. There are only a few restaurants within the resort. The best one was Namaste owned and operated by Mr Singh. A delightful fully fluent in English gentleman. He gave us many tips on things to see and do and where to eat in the nearby town of Lake Sua and Chino. His food was first rate! We asked for...
This is my second time staying here. The last time was before COVID, so this was my first time in a while, but as soon as I entered the room, there was a strange smell. There was an unfamiliar smell, like some kind of spice, that stank my nose and throat, so I contacted the front desk because this was not good. An employee came immediately, but said that he could not smell anything. In the end, they...
