The room, Seiran, overlooked a Japanese garden, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Those who appreciate traditional Japanese houses will find this a truly satisfying experience. Breakfast, enjoyed amidst the beautiful garden views, was a perfect way to start the day. The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive; I'll definitely bring friends back next time.

The small town of Otsu is a place I really love. It's quiet, not crowded with tourists, and right next to Lake Biwa.
The tea room in the common area is beautiful, with a small garden, and the public bathroom is very clean. The only downside is that the all-wooden townhouses have almost no sound insulation, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who have trouble sleeping.

Inase is a really amazing and beautiful place. If you're looking for peace after spending time in Kyoto or other big cities, it's the best place to get a rest. Staff is very polite and friendly, breakfast is delicious, and the garden inside is beautiful.
We had some troubles with the luggage, but they helped us to deal with it, so grateful for that.
This place is 10/10. Don't hesitate and just book it.

This is a Japanese-style B&B with a great atmosphere.
It is said that it was a granary a hundred years ago and was later converted into a B&B.
The floor makes a creaking sound when you step on it.
I had a fantasy in my mind about whether the black coal balls described by Hayao Miyazaki would appear in the same way.

The homestay has done a great job in every detail. There are two places that left a particularly deep impression on me. The first picture is a hot water bottle stuffed into the bed. In fact, the air conditioner was set to over 20 degrees in advance, which was already very warm. Sometimes, a little bit of excessive service can really touch people's hearts. The fourth picture shows the organic lemons grown by the family, and guests are invited to take them away at will. With such thoughtfulness, how can you not be moved.

It was my first time staying in an orthodox townhouse, and I was pleasantly surprised. The house is very unique. The hostel lady can't speak Chinese, but she kept communicating with a translator. The breakfast set meal is delicious. If you come to stay, you must order breakfast in advance. There is also a vinyl player in the living room, which is very nostalgic and sentimental. Otsu is really a very quiet town. On the last day of 2024, I spent a very peaceful day here.

There are multiple parking lots nearby, which is convenient for self-driving. The rooms are Japanese-style with modern facilities. Breakfast is Japanese cuisine. The garden is relatively small. Overall it is quiet and comfortable, but lacks refinement (because it is included in tangible culture).

The only drawback is that the room's light blocking is not very good, friends who care can prepare an eye mask.
